Morris, a rather dim moose, has a cold. Boris the Bear tries to take care of him, but is highly frustrated by Morris' ignorance and Amelia Bedelia-esque habit of taking things literally. The pictures did an excellent job illustrating the action in a cinematic fashion. For example:

[Picture of Boris handing Morris a cough drop.]
Morris coughed again.
"Here," said Boris.
"I found a cough drop."

Morris asked, "A cough what?"

Boris said, "Drop."

Team read with DD#1 (age 6), who thought it was hilarious. So did DS#2 (age 3), and so did I - it really was funny.

Acquired this at a big church yard sale, along with another of the many in the series, "Morris Goes to School". Morris was contemporary with my childhood. I'm sorry I missed him then, and am glad I've found him now. A search showed a bunch that somehow escaped being purged by my generally useless library system; they're going on the list pronto.

Funniest children's book ever. Morris the moose has a bad cold... and really doesn't know how to handle it politely. My boys, when they were small used to roll on the floor with laughter every time we read this one! If you have young children, this is a must-read -- but maybe not at bedtime!

I loved this book as a child and I still love it as an adult! So funny with great illustrations! A simple but classic story. You can’t help but smile when you read it.

My children absolutely adore this book. Reading literature is so important to the development of a child's mind, and I cannot think of thing I would rather do then sit down to read to them in the evenings. Imagination and growth are so vital in those so young.

What a fun story, Morris reminds me of Amelia Bedelia, takes everything literally, such as, Boris wants to see if Morris has a fever and asks to touch his forehead, but Morris says I only have one head. Boris gets frustrated but he takes care of Morris and the next day Morris feels better. The illustrations are very expressive and you see all the emotions that both Morris and Boris are feeling.

Learning Experience:
This is an experiment that shows how germs are spread. It also stresses the importance of washing hands correctly to help germs not spread so rapidly.
1.) Talk with children about germs and how they spread.
2.) Put hand lotion on children's hands- first make sure no one is allergic.
3.) Sprinkle small amount of glitter on children's hands, have them rub their hands to spread the glitter.
4.) Have a few children try to remove glitter with a dry paper towel.
5.) Have a few more children try to remove glitter with water only.
6.) Have a few more children use warm water and soap to get glitter germs off.
This experiment lets children realize how germs can spread and the importance of using soap and warm water to wash hands.

There are few things more delightful to me than a six year old's laughter. Morris Has a Cold was one of my son's favorite books when he was six and we still own a copy of the book because it brings back such happy memories.

Morris Has a Cold is a delightfully silly book - one that will have a young audience in stitches. One of the charms of five, six and seven year olds is their silliness and Bernard Wiseman knew how to tickle their funny bones.

Morris Has a Cold starts out as Morris the Moose says to his friend, Boris the Bear, "I have a cold. My nose is walking." Boris says, "You mean your nose is running." "No," Morris answers. "My nose is walking. I only have a little cold." This wacky conversation between the two carries on throughout the book until finally on the last page after attempting to help Morris get better, an exasperated Boris says to Morris, "Don't ever get sick again!"

If you are in need of a good laugh, read this book to young children. Their laughter is contagious!

This is an "easy reader" enhanced by the comical and silly illustrations of author/illustrator, Bernard Wiseman.

I just reread this book after a long time and it still made me laugh. This is a funny book about a moose and a bear who are friends and Boris the bear tries to take care of his friend Morris when he has a cold but has a lot of trouble doing so.

I have not read this book in years and years! but I know for a memory fact that I LOVED this book when I was little!

I finally tracked down this book for the reason, that sometimes I heard the name "Morris" , a distant memory would come up, and I would picture a funny moose-like animal!

One of my favorite books as a child. I bought a newer edition for my daughter a few years ago and she liked it too.

This was probably my favorite Morris book, but they are all funny. I'd compare them to Amelia Bedilia books if you've read those. Just a lot of silly stuff to laugh about with your child!

This is not as funny and charming as "Morris the Moose Goes to School". A disappointment.

This was my ABSOLUTE favorite childhood book! Not sure how many times it was a bedtime story before I turned six, at least a trillion. I need to find a copy.

This book is hilarious. Much like Amelia Bedelia, Morris takes things literally. This is a great option for boys who like the fun of Amelia Bedelia, but want male/animal characters.

My daughter is 29 and still remembers me reading her this book. I'd change my voice to sound like a big moose (vety deep voice) and it sounded like I had a cold. It was great.

I cannot find a cooy of this book anywhere for sale :(
