What could possibly be more wickedly romantic than a vampire hero? Nothing as far as I can tell. There’s something very appealing about men who don’t age and are ridiculously strong and handsome.

But I think the more exciting piece is the idea of the flat out danger associated with loving someone who literally wants to eat you. Hmm. Dating a vampire gives an extreme meaning to the term “love bite.” And how about the fact that there’s usually no mark left behind with that love bite, at least not in recent years. Vampires of today clean things up and stay hidden. I do love a man who cleans up after himself. Nothing is less appealing than a sloppy eater!

I think my favorite vampire hero is Mikhail from Christine Feehan’s Dark Prince. I love Jagr from Alexandra Ivy’s Darkness Unleashed. And who doesn’t love Bones from Jeannine Frost’s Night Huntress series? All handsome, all strong, all very smart, very powerful, very thick-headed when it comes to their women. I admit in romance I love to read Alpha males who edge toward caveman type tendencies. I find them sexy. Of course, in real life I’d find them frightening and utterly unappealing, but we’re talking about books and fantasy.
