“Imagineer-ing” was originally set up as a general ebook blog, but has grown into a blog that covers more than just ebooks. It features book reviews, author interviews, special ‘Feature’ posts, guest posts and much more. Posts discuss writing, self-publishing and various matters related to the whole business of being an author.
Why Did You Start a Book Blog?
Initially, it was intended to showcase ebooks by myself. There were hopes that other authors might enlist, but this has not happened so the blog has undergone a change in direction, with far more activity representing the desire to support other authors.
What Kinds of Books do You Review?
Basically, most genres. I DON’T review Erotica, self-help or ‘get rich quick’ works. All others are subject to acceptance based on synopsis/blurb. For example, I was recently asked to review a book which involved issues that I could have no understanding of. I had to decline, as the book was intended to inspire young people and I felt I wasn’t qualified to give an opinion on either the book’s value or the problems those young people faced.
What advice would you give new book bloggers?
Whatever you may intend when you start your blog, be prepared to allow changes. Nothing is ever static, if it is going to succeed. Don’t try to do too much, initially. Build carefully, so that your blog doesn’t take over your life and stop you doing other things, like writing that novel!
