“Zelda was her name, a shriveled apple of a woman with sunken cheeks and eyes and the hooked nose of a pirate.”

A young girl helps an elderly widow prepare for a Christmas Eve visit from her estranged son. Surprises are in store!

Niagara Falls was originally published in SansCrit, A Literary Magazine.

Inge has been writing since she was in grade school. Her short stories have been published in numerous literary and other magazines and have been broadcast on radio. She received First Prize in the 1986 Annual Writers’ Digest Short Fiction Competition, out of thousands of entrants.

Inge studied undergraduate and post-graduate creative writing at the University of Alberta, working with such writers as Governor General’s Award Winner, Rudy Wiebe.

On a more personal note, Inge has lived in Austria, England, and in several areas of Canada including the Northwest Territories. Currently she resides in Fort Erie, Ontario. She enjoys nature, horses, art, reading, and, of course, writing.
