Second Realm Glossary: Realmcrash

I thought, as an added teaser for the Second Realm, I'd start a glossary of important concepts that are hovering at the edges of the story. I'll try to do a term a week, at least until I run out of terms...

1. Realmcrash
The instant of first contact between the First and Second Realms. The impact was catastrophic on both sides of the divide; its Second Realm effects are not well-understood, but in the First Realm it resulted in a fundamental change in the laws of magnetism that made the generation of electricity impossible. The term 'Realmcrash' is sometimes also used to refer to the widespread destruction and loss of life caused by this latter phenomenon. The Realmcrash was followed by the ten-year Realm War, as various factions among the Children of the Wild attacked the First Realm in search of retribution.

The Realmcrash is also used as the start date for the modern calendar, according to which the current year is 79.
