Hey y'all! Wanted to let everyone know that I have started a blog on Blogger. I don't get many views on this blog at all. When I published my first entry on Blogger, I had 26 views in the first hour, and I haven't had 26 views total on this one. So if you'll kindly follow me on my new one, (and spread the word if you're so inclined) I'd appreciate it. The address is

Thanks so much! I appreciate those that do follow me and my work. Y'all ROCK!
Until next time-

Happy Father's Day!!!
Today is for daddys. Hope you enjoy your time with your dad today. I am fortunate enough to still have both of my parents with me. They are 80 and 81, and still in pretty decent health. They live with my husband and I, so I get to see them all the time. Except when they're traveling, which is pretty much every summer. But my daddy is home today. :)
For those of you who have lost their daddy, I am so very sorry. Losing a parent has got to be devastating. Although it is inevitable, as it is the cycle of life, I cannot fathom what levels of basketcase-ness I will be when my daddy passes on. But know this- I am sure your daddy is looking down on you from Heaven, drinkin' a cold glass o sweet tea, or a mug o beer, or whatever it was he fancied, because I know my daddy will be doing the same. Except my daddy will be playing solitaire while drinkin' that beer!
So hug your daddy if he's still with ya, if he isn't, know that he's lookin' down on ya smilin' and couldn't be prouder! :)
Until next time- Smooches!

Busy as Bees
In my quest to accomplish everything I want to do in apparently too little time, I have discovered that I am not...Superwoman. Yes, I was shocked too, believe me. I have so many "irons in the fire" as they say, I don't know which end is up sometimes.
What all am I doing at the moment? Well, I am enrolled in classes for Animal Behavior/Canine Obedience. I have about 8 months or so left in that. Then,I also have three different writing projects in the works, while trying to promote the two I had published this year. I volunteer at my local Animal Shelter several hours each month, I work a regular 40-hr a week job at a used car lot, and I have three grandbabies that I adore and try to spend time with all I can.
So, as I may not be Superwoman, I do still try to accomplish becoming her. I simply do not give up. I am just extremely busy all of the time. Perhaps one day I'll be able to slow down at least a little bit, and get some of those irons out of the fire.

Why, you ask?
I was asked the other day by someone why my blog posts are so short. Well, for a few reasons. One of them being, I keep things short and sweet and to the point. Now and again I will ramble on, but mostly it's kept short. Also, if I went on and on about mundane things, or even about how my dog did something that was hilarious to me, you'd probably get kinda bored and scroll down and not be as likely to come back and read my posts. So, once again, it is with YOU, the reader, in mind that I do this.
That being said, I will add that I appreciate every fan/follower I have, and I hope that I can continue to bring you blog posts you enjoy, and books that you can't put down!
Until next time,

Happy Day!!
On May 21st, 2013, my book Rhymes From Darker Times was published. I am ecstatic! Not only am I excited to have another book released, but I am thrilled about this particular one because it is a personal look into my past. These poems were written long ago, when I was going through troubling times in my life. They helped get me through them. It is my hope that perhaps they might help someone else, or even inspire someone to write. I said in the beginning I wanted y'all to get to KNOW me, not just know OF me, and this is a way for y'all to get inside my head a little. Some of the poems are strange, some don't even make any sense, but they made perfect sense to me at the time I wrote them. It is what was BEHIND the writing that was so powerful. The emotions I was feeling at the time. Sometimes I felt alone in the world, like everyone had left me, and others I felt like I was in a different world completely. Either way, I hope you enjoy Rhymes From Darker Times, and please feel free to comment about it here or on FB or Amazon. Remember- YOU are why I keep this blog. :)

Great Things Abrewin...
Well, hey y'all! It's been a few since my last post. Wanted to pop in and fill ya in on a couple of things that are happening.
First of all, my poetry book 'Rhymes From Darker Times' will hopefully be coming out no later than June. This book means a lot to me, as they are all poems from a notebook straight from my past. Each one helped me cope and get through some rather challenging times in my life. I figured they would always stay in that notebook, but my dear husband convinced me to put them into a book. I am so glad he did.
Secondly, I still submit short stories and poetry regularly as well, and I have one that is set to be published online July 1st with Nailpolish Stories here: http://nailpolishstories.wordpress.com/
I am working on a few other things as well, but as of right now, nothing is near completion.
Remember, you can always keep up to speed on things by visiting my website at www.bsjohnson.com
Until next time, keep following your dreams, and never give up.

Summertime Bliss
Here it is April 30th. The flowers are in full bloom, it's warm, and I'm ready to ride topless! No, I don't mean without a shirt!! I mean without the top on my Jeep! Cruisin' down the back roads, crankin' the country music, wind blowin' through my long hair, sun beatin' down on me- that right there is Summer Bliss, y'all. :)
I've been working on some new things. When it's warm out, I like to write outside. It gives me inspiration. I have a few things in the works right now.
I actually have a book of poems that is forthcoming from Sweatshoppe Publications. I assure you, they're not your typical sweet love poems, either. I'll keep y'all posted on the release details. Until next time, remember to always be true to yourself.

Congratulations!!
I want to personally congratulate Becky and Mary on winning a copy of Maters, Taters & Grits!!! I hope y'all thoroughly enjoy reading it!
Thanks to all of you who entered the giveaway! Be sure to follow me on Facebook, as I will be doing giveaways on there as well from time to time.
Now that Spring has sprung, pollen is in full force down here in Georgia and everything is yellow! We do have much warmer weather though, which I happen to LOVE! I can't wait to get the fishin' poles out and head to the lake, prop my feet up, drop a worm, and kick back! 'Til next time-

Life is good...but short
It was a bittersweet weekend. I participated in The Color Run, the happiest 5K on the planet, at Atlanta Motor Speedway. There were over 20,000 participants, and it benefited Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, so it was a great turnout for a good cause.
Before the weekend got started though, I received news that a friend of mine had passed away Friday morning. He was 42. My age. He had a Heart Attack. I just talked to him on Easter, last Sunday. We were talking about a BBQ this Spring and how we'd get together and hang out like we used to in high school. It really hit home. So very young, so very fragile. We are here only for a while. Make it count. We cannot take things with us when we go, for that is not what's important- it is what we leave behind.
Take care of yourselves.
