Well, I got a chance to participate in my first author's live chat last night on Coffee Time Romance ... wow what an insane and fun evening. Got to meet some of the other XOXO authors and some fans too. Loved talking with and listening to everyone there!

And then got the news today that Evernight is #3 on XOXO's best seller list. How about that? I'm just in shock ... to think that three months ago I figured I'd be years away from even submitting anything.

Tired .. not much else to say tonight. Hopefully after some rest I'll be able to put some more coherent thoughts together. Good night!!!!

Ok, so Patricia and I just went through our first nerve-wracking experience of asking someone to review our work and going through an interview in the process ...

And it turned out to be fun. The team at Talk Supe was awesome, and friendly, and I think gave the story a very fair review, and it was favorable to boot! And there questions allowed me to ramble a bit, which I'm pretty good at. Check out the interview here, and look Talk Supe up on Facebook, they've got a pretty cool page and are really seem to be in touch with all the new and existing paranormal fiction going on out there ...

So, how in the world did this happen? How did a mechanical engineer ever get into writing paranormal romance?

I still wonder myself. This past year plus a couple of months has been a fascinating ride into discovering a talent I never knew I had. A creative part of me that I didn't know existed.

To put things in perspective ... I'm 40 years old, and before last year I had done any creative writing since high school. So, my wife started reading a few series of books -- True Blood by Charlaine Harris; Black Dagger Brotherhood by J.R. Ward; and the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. She got me to read True Blood because we started watching the TV show and I did find them incredibly enjoyable, but she never got me to read the others.

Then, she started in a role playing group with the Dark Hunter series, and she seemed to be having a good time with it. So, I decided to give it a try, and did a blitz through the Dark Hunter Companion so I knew what the heck I was writing about. Created a character, and was off and running ... and immediately found that I had a creative voice. I had stories to tell, and this was just one venue to do it.

As I met various levels of writers within this community ... and that's really what it is ... I had an opportunity to submit a story that Patricia Laffoon and I had worked together on, and I took the chance and did. And it, by some miracle, was selected to get published.

Who knows what will happen next? To think that something that really started out as just a hobby, that people read it and enjoy it ... it means a ton to me. I hope to be able to do more ... and I hope people will continue to enjoy it. For the moment, I'm enjoying this first publication ... but there are still more stories to tell. Stay tuned to find out what they are.
