About this author

Family history (he is half Norwegian) and his storytelling hero, Bernard Cornwell, inspired Giles Kristian to write his first historical novels, the acclaimed and bestselling Raven Viking trilogy – Blood Eye, Sons of Thunder and Odin’s Wolves. For his next series, he drew on a long-held fascination with the English Civil War. The Bleeding Land and Brothers’ Fury follow the fortunes of a divided family against the complex and brutal backcloth of a conflict that tore this country apart and ended with the killing of a king. In his new novel – God of Vengeance – Giles returns to the world of the Vikings to tell of the beginnings of Sigurd and his celebrated fictional fellowship.

Ever wanted to be part of the fellowship?

Now is your chance!

Simply think of a Viking name that would sit well amongst the characters in the Raven series, tell us a little bit about their personality and what they might look like (perhaps it’s yourself!) and the winning entrant will sit down with the author and talk about how their idea can be written into God of Vengeance, due for publication n... Lucinda Dear Giles,
I would like to thank you for being my friend on Goodreads which is a fantastic site where i am able to converse with likeminded people both authors and readers. I am also so pleased to have been chosen to win your first novel 'Blood Eye' that caught my attention a while ago and which i cannot wait to read as it looks amazing, just from reading the various book reviews on it! Thank you so much once again and i shall write a review on your book as soon as i have read it.
