  <about><![CDATA[In the 1980s and early 90s, PD Allen (aka Dale Allen Pfeiffer) was the principal contributor to &lt;b&gt;The Scene&lt;/b&gt;, a surrealistic entertainment zine that was circulated around Detroit, Michigan. In the 1990s he obtained degrees in Geology, Earth Science and Mathematics, while writing several novels. The year 2000 saw the publication of the novel &lt;b&gt;The Linnet's Song&lt;/b&gt; by Writer's Club Press. From 2001 until 2005, he was the science editor for &lt;b&gt;From the Wilderness Publications&lt;/b&gt;. From 2005 to 2007, he was the managing editor of &lt;b&gt;The Mountain Sentinel&lt;/b&gt;. 2005 saw the publication of &lt;b&gt;The End of the Oil Age &lt;/b&gt;(nonfiction), and a large novel, &lt;b&gt;Giants in Their Steps&lt;/b&gt;, both published by Lulu Press. &lt;b&gt;GRITS: Grassroots Initiatives to Survive&lt;/b&gt; (nonfiction) was published by Lulu Press in 2006. &lt;b&gt;Eating Fossil Fuels &lt;/b&gt;(nonfiction) was published in November of 2006 by New Society Publishers. In 2007, PD Allen turned his attention almost exclusively to fiction. He has had short stories, novellas and poems published in a number of magazines, including, Kaleidotrope, Dark Distortions 2, and Mobius. Most recently, he has been polishing a number of novel length manuscripts for marketing.
