CD: some 90's vibes, basic sentences not too difficult, the amount of content per chapter might be a bit difficult to manage for some.
Additionally, for a monolingual English speaker (and even me a Dutch bilingual who understand a lot of the words herein) the words were not easy to repeat - not knowing how the words were spelt or properly pronounced left some ambiguity which is not beneficial in a language book.

You're not going to be fluent, but that's not what it promises anyway. I wouldn't use this as the first introduction to German either. It's a nice quick reminder though.
This is.... ambitious for a one-CD curriculum. I don't think it would do much for anyone with no prior German experience; while they introduce some basic vocabulary (numbers, months, hello/goodbye, etc.), a lot of the "phrases" are specific, full-on sentences. I could see that it might be an okay, very quick refresher for someone with a background in German who is feeling a bit rusty. And only has a few hours.
I'll keep saying this - try the Pimsleur CDs instead. Best I've found so far.
Seriously, this is in no way helpful. Granted, my primary learning resource right now is Rosetta Stone - which is so awesome I can't adequately describe it - but this tape is ridiculous. I would only recommend it for someone looking for practice listening to german conversations.
