Dużym plusem tej książki jest fabuła, która jest nietuzinkowa i porusza bardzo ważny problem choroby zaburzeń dysocjacyjnych tożsamości, czyli rozdwojenia jaźni, na którą cierpi główny bohater Lucas/Gage. Z kolei Shyann to temperamentna kobietka z indiańskimi korzeniami, która powraca do rodzinnych stron po utracie intratnej pracy w telewizji. Jej powrót wszystko zmienia. Shy zakochuje się w czułym Lucasie, ale poznaje również brutalnego i złośliwego Gage'a, którego próbuje poskromić. Czasem robi się naprawdę niebezpiecznie, pojawiają się w tle intrygi, a zakończenie jest takie, jakie być powinno. Swoją drogą to szczęściara z tej Shy,tak legalnie żyć sobie w trójkącie ;)
