Have you ever wanted to improve your memory, creativity, concentration, communicative ability, thinking skills, learning skills, general intelligence and quickness of mind? This is the perfect introduction to Tony Buzan's world famous Mind Maps.
Tony Buzan was an English author, educational consultant, and pioneer of the mind mapping technique, which he developed to enhance learning, creativity, and memory. Born in Middlesex in 1942, he studied psychology, English, mathematics, and science at the University of British Columbia and later became a graduate student at Simon Fraser University, where he served as the inaugural president of the student society. Buzan was a strong advocate for mental literacy and radiant thinking, drawing inspiration from figures like Leonardo da Vinci and Albert Einstein. He authored or co-authored over 80 books, including the bestselling Use Your Head, The Mind Map Book, and The Speed Reading Book, and gained international recognition through his 1970s BBC series Use Your Head. Buzan co-founded the World Memory Championships, the Mind Sports Olympiad, and the Brain Trust Charity. His legacy lives on through his books, seminars, and iMindMap software.
Habis membaca buku Mind Mapping. Buku jenis ini, sebaiknya perlu sedia kan kertas, pen berwarna dan highlighter ditepi. Sebab nya, kita boleh teruskan aplikasi metod mind mapping terus.
Buku nya ringkas, jelas tapi saya kurang gemar bila ada point berulang-ulang. Bagi saya ia agak ‘redundant’.
Sekali baca, memang takkan terus pandai. Baca macam senang je nak buat, tapi bila cuba agak sukar. Latihan mind mapping ni perlu sentiasa practice.
Buku ni sesuai untuk student, bekerja dan surirumah.
I guess it’s interesting that you can use mind mapping techniques to plan who you want to be in next 1 year, 5 years or even daily/monthly planning.
You can see the whole picture of ideas and helps you to think rationally.
As the name implies, it is a small book about mind mapping by its creator to summarise the original book. I contained almost the same information as in the Mind Map book, but in shorter form. It has all the basic information to draw, use, and understand Mind Maps.
I have not finished the whole book because the remaining section was not necessary in my case.
I've been using mind mapping for many things but never knew 'the correct way' to do it. This book teaches some tips to make mind mapping a more powerful tool and I've put some of them into practise lately. Good book, indeed.
I am just a beginner to learn about the method of mind mapping. Though the book emphasizes the advantages of mind mapping comparing to the old fashion method of listing, but the ideas are presented by listing. I wish there were more samples shown in the book. Each samples have a short caption which is failed to prove the helpfulness of the mind map in the actual practice. For example, it said this was drew by Tony Buzan to prepare for his welcome speech. That’s all. If there was a brief script of his speech following as well, it would be much more impressive and easier to understand how it works. Anyway, I will still look for another master books of Tony. This summarized book might not be suitable for a beginner.
While still at school, my Dad introduced me to Mind Maps. I used them during my studies and in the world of work.
Sadly, my Dad passed away last year, and I inherited this book. As I look forward to years of retirement, this book is still a valuable insight into Mind Maps and their relevance.
This slim volume packs a lot in and is a perfect introduction (or in my case, re-introduction) to Mind Maps.
This is a short intro to the mind mapping technique and it was quite a revelation! I had produced very informal meeting minutes and rough notes for a lot of years thinking they were (are) mind maps ... not so. The technique is very specific and precise, and although it can bring note-taking into the C21st, there's a lot more to it than that.
I was expecting something a little more academic from this book. For those of you who know who Tony Buzan is, you know that he is famous for his memory techniques. I was hoping that he would instruct the reader on how to use mind maps to make better use of their memory. However, after he explains the basic techniques of Mind Mapping, he spends most of his time instructing the reader on how to use it for decision making and in management or communication. He only spends about 2 pages explaining how Mind Mapping can be used by teachers and students. So, it is obvious he doesn't go into great detail or depth. Other than what I already knew about Mind Mapping, I only picked up a few more tips. Still, I hope to put the technique to good use.
I keep thinking that there will be something more to mind mapping than there actually is! Still, this was a good motivational buy and saw me mapping happily away one weekend and hoping to continue doing it. Found some nice software as well, but the price of that is preventing me making the purchase, unless I put it on my company credit card "by mistake"! I wonder if, in years to come, I'll review this time and think "Wow, I was seriously into goal setting and self-development that year". Or will I be saying "Wow, I'd hardly even cleared the foothills on my goal setting programme in those days!"
I love to read this book.. ❤❤❤ 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
