L'Alibi
1ère histoire
M. John engage Lucky Luke pour suivre Gisela, sa belle-fille et son mari Samuel lors de leur voyage de noces. M. John veut que ce voyage de noces soit une véritable initiation à sa vie de femme, de future mère et d`américaine. Luke va planifier une guerre indienne, une bagarre de saloon, un hold-up et bien plus. Le tout se finira par la capture de M. John pour tentative de meurtre.
2ième histoire
Nous sommes dans la ville d`Indigo. C`est le village le plus venté de l`ouest. C`est dans ce village qu`habite Chet, un petit maigrichon. Il a de la difficulté à circuler dans le village, car il vente trop fort. Avec l`aide de Lucky Luke, Chet va s`entraîner intensivement pour devenir l`homme le plus fort du village. Il va inventer le premier centre de gymnastique et c`est pour cela que le village va changer de nom pour Athletic City.
3ième histoire
Les Dalton se sont encore échappés de prison ! Ils s`enfuient au Mexique et Luke part à leur recherche. Ils vont se faire passer pour quatre toréadors. Ce déguisement va leur causer plusieurs ennuis. Luke finira par les capturer et ils retourneront en prison.
4ième histoire
Jolly Jumper se fait enlever et Luke part à sa recherche. Son enquête va l`amener à rencontrer plusieurs bandits, mais sans succès. Il finira par apprendre que ce sont les Dalton qui ont enlevé Jolly Jumper et il va leur tendre une embuscade qui lui permettra de retrouver Jolly Jumper.

Morris started his career in 1945 in Le Moustique, creating various covers and illustrations. By the end of the 1940s, Morris met his colleagues Jijé, Franquin and Will. These four artists would be called "The Gang of 4", because they all worked in Jijé's studio at that time. The first episode of Lucky Luke, 'Arizona 1880', was published in L'Almanach Spirou 1947, and was later continued in Spirou. In his early 'Lucky Luke' comics, Morris was greatly inspired by animated cartoons à la Disney.
In 1949, Jijé took Morris and Franquin to the US, where Morris met Jack Davis and Harvey Kurtzman, whom he helped with their plans for Mad Magazine. He also met René Goscinny in the US. In 1955, Morris returned to Europe and collaborated with René Goscinny on 'Lucky Luke'. Goscinny wrote the scenarios of over 35 stories, which led to the great success of the series.

Buku ini lebih mirip kumpulan kisah. Mungkin bisa diplesetkan menjadi Kumpulan Komik alias Kumkom (ih kok enggak asyik). Khusus untuk buku ini ada 4 kisah yang dimuat. Pertama berjudul Alibi. Kisahnya mengenai seorang wanita "perkasa" yang hidup bersama ayah tirinya. Saat itu wanita serng digambarkan sebagai sosok yang lemah lembut, namun tidak dengan tokoh yang satu ini. ia begitu "bersemangat" menghadapi segala hal. Nah bisa ditebak bagaimana kisahnya. Seru juga apalagi melibatkan banyak pemain sandiwara.
Kisah kedua berjudul Athletic City, menilik judulnya bisa dikira-kira kisahnya. Kali ini Lucky Luke membantu seorang anak laki-laki bernama Chet yang lahir dengan kondisi tubuh sangat kurus sehingga sang ibu perlu memakaikan pemberat agar ia tidak terbang ditiup angin. Daerah Indigo memang dikenal dengan kondisi anginnya yang luar biasa. Penduduknya mudah dikenali karena postur tubuh yang selalu miring ke depan.
Walau memiliki tubuh kurus dan seiringan kapas, Chet memiliki otak yang lumayan pandai. Lucky Luke membantunya agar tidak dilecehkan para penduduk desa. Usahanya mereka berdua berhasil! Para penduduk tidak lagi menghina Chet, justru mereka ingin menjadi seperti Chet. Diduga disinilah asal mula munculnya Gymnastic.
Penasaran, kenapa juga Lucky Luke tidak mengubah dirinya menjadi seperti Chet.

Kisah ketiga berjudul Ole Daltonitos berkisah seputar pelarian (lagi) Dalton bersaudara. Entah kenapa sudah bolak-balik melarikan diri masih saja mereka bisa ditangkap dengan mudah. Kali ini mereka lari ke Mexico. Sialnya saat kedatangan mereka bertepatan dengan acara Adu Banteng, dalam sekejab berkat campur tangan Lucky Luke mereka berubah menjadi matador.
Dalam wikipedia, disebutkan bahwa matador, secara harafiah berarti pembunuh, adalah seorang torero yang sangat ahli di dalam pertarungan melawan banteng. Torero adalah pelaku utama dalam pertunjukan pertarungan manusia melawan banteng di Spanyol dan negara-negara berbahasa Spanyol lainnya. Dalam pertarungan ini, seorang torero berperan mempermainkan dan pada akhirnya membunuh banteng tersebut. Torero disebut sebagai toreador dalam bahasa Inggris, tapi istilah ini hampir tidak pernah dipakai di Spanyol maupun Amerika Latin.
Tingkah laku Averell yang mendadak jatuh cinta membuat situasi kian kocak!
Sepertinya diantara Dalton bersaudara hanya ia yang selalu berurusan dengan cinta
Kisah keempat berjudul Seekor Kuda Hilang. Siapa lagi kalau bukan Jolly Jumper! Beraninya mereka menculik kuda Lucky Luke. Kisah penutup ini lumayan menghibur. Guna mencari penculik kuda kesayangannya Lucky Luke berusaha keras, bahkan ia nyaris berkompromi dengan penjahat. Ia rela jika harus membayar tebusan. Saat ia mencari bantuan untuk menebus Jolly Jumper baru ia tahu mana kawan sejati.
Ternyata penculiknya adalah .... dasar mereka enggak kapok berurusan dengan Lucky Luke

Guylouis, another French brought in for script, made these stories entertaining enough that I would've totally believed it was the work of Goscinny if deceived.
I just did the count for how many I've read, downstairs since I don't trust goodreads for anything* exact, and this was #72- I only have single digits left to read! I was inspired to know that when I had realized, surprisingly not til today, that I have read more of these length (≥⁴⁵page) offerings than any character besides The Batman.
*The amount of system mistakes that I would've cured over the years would be in the thousands, plus absolutely countless unentered specifics I could clarify, if I could edit details myself- only then could I rely on any sort of numbers without sideline research. I don't have the time to detail such specifics to librarians then revisit listings when fixed. I used to enter books so well until I no longer could then failed the librarian test multiple times after DILIGENT study. The test is SHOCKINGLY difficult to the point that I had to desist. Thankfully I have Alberto (and Buddy) for new entries.

Vier korte avonturen waarin 'de man die sneller schiet dan zijn schaduw' niet altijd de hoofdrol speelt. In bijvoorbeeld 'Olé, Daltonitos' is die eer weggelegd voor de criminele gebroeders Dalton, Joe, William, Jack en Averell. Dat verhaal, dat zich grotendeels afspeelt in Mexico, heeft van de vier verhalen de hoogste grapdichtheid en springt er daarom uit. Lucky Luke's overige avonturen zijn niet al te bijzonder.

Goscinny, reviens !!!
4 histoires courtes. Aucune ne fonctionne. Les personnages ne ressemblent en rien aux originaux. On pourrait croire une très mauvaise parodie mais non, c'est bien Morris qui signe les dessins.
Je découvre cet album et suis interloqué... Comment a-t-il pu être publié ? Je n'ai jamais autant regretté la mort du scénariste original !

El formato de historias cortas y sin guión de Gosciny no ha sido lo mejor para mi reencuentro con Lucky Luke. Y la traducción me parece un poco rara.
