Reese Gabriel is a born romantic with a taste for the edgier side of love. Having traveled the world and sampled many of the finer things, Reese now enjoys the greater simplicities -- barefoot walks by the ocean, kisses under moonlight and whispers of passion in the darkness with that one special person.
Preferring to remain behind the scenes, cherished by a precious few, Reese hopes to awaken in the lives of many the possibilities of true love through stories of far off places and enchanted lives.
"Commanding Kat" by Reese Gabriel is a steamy erotic storyline. The main character is Kat. She is a lawyer. Kat has dreams of being controlled by a Master and she tells about these dreams to her friend who is also her law partner. Kat's friend encourages her to join the "Society For Sexual Freedom" with its kinky color-coded rooms and masks to protect the players' identities. There she meets the handsome Master J, who manages to take his place in her night fantasies... The next day Kat is further unnerved when she meets the new client Chase Neill who reminds her of Master J. He's arrogant and demanding. Chase can't be Master J, can he?
The sex scenes were really good, great plot, well written...I enjoyed reading this and I recommend this book (even if you're not into BDSM, you'll like it...).
Very hot! Loved Master J/Chase -- but there was something about Kat/K that didn't ring true.
Kat's character is supposed to be confident, assertive, and self-aware. However, her actions show her to be amazingly indecisive and weak: after deciding she doesn't want to join the Society for Sexual Freedom, she decides to wander the halls, and finds Master J in the Red Room. In spite of being appalled by the scene, she lets herself be talked not only into staying, but coming back the next evening, where she submits to him. This yes-I-will/no-I-won't business goes on through the book.
Also, the fact that she didn't recognize Master J as Chase (although he recognizes her first)after several "encounters" just seemed too unrealistic.
