I love to write books about living a fabulous life without spending a lot of money.
I adore mindset work and how we get to be happier and more successful just from looking at things from a different angle. We get to change our circumstances if we want to, and change our thoughts as well.
My goal when I write my books is to provide inspiration, ideas, and reminders for my readers so that they can wear their rose-tinted sunglasses as they live their life. Just like I do!
I have found that everything works out better when you are positive as much as possible. When you expect things to work out for the best. When you have gratitude for all you have. And when you are always looking at how to make your life better, and richer (in all ways). In doing all these things you are elevating the happiness levels of those around you as well as yourself.
Of course life isn't perfect and we all go through sad or difficult times, however I believe when we are starting from a base level of positivity, it makes those times easier to bear.
I love the saying attributed to Queen Elizabeth II's private secretary, who told her that her job was to spread a carpet of happiness wherever she went. I have taken this on as my own life's motto and with my writing too.
I hope you enjoy reading my books and get loads of golden nuggets from them. Happy reading and please let me know your thoughts or leave a review!
It's a good book for motivating those of us who already know the How, but have either burned out on decluttering or got stuck in decision paralysis. It's more about the mindset than anything else and a few mind tricks have been genuinely new to me and helpful.
I always found that right after a move to a new place is a logical time to do some decluttering. It's not intuitive because you're supposed to do it before a move, but taking your stuff out of boxes and not finding a good place for it or seeing it stripped of context seems to make it easier for me. So having just moved, I was questioning what needs to go and books... Books... Well, Fiona has offered a new mind trick that I like - "if this book was available at my library, would I check it out for free?". Also, she's a great encourager of Using Things Up, which I find helpful to tackle my seemingly multiplying hand cream and body lotion collection.
I don't expect any earth shattering revelations from a decluttering or a minimalism book, I've been at it for a long time now so I know all the systems, I know all the benefits, but I still need a motivational pep talk now and again, and if that's what you're after, then this book 100% delivers. I did find some tips to be a little repetitive or too vague, but overall it does what it says on the tin and like all Fiona's 100 Ways books, it's infinitely re-readable.
She gives you lots of ideas on freeing your space for more breathable relaxation. Turning your home into your dream home 1 day at a time for a year or more or less. Getting rid of 1 item a day or more won't seem like your losing a lot. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it.
Really enjoyed this book and although I’ve read decluttering books before this is definitely one of the best. I certainly learned some things and got a really nice vibe from the author. Thanks for sharing your wisdom Fiona. I feel motivated to have a really good clear out and I know I will feel so much better for it.
While reading this I have sorted something every day. One day it was a cabinet, another day it was a drawer. There is still much to do but I am ready to tackle it all!
This was a delightful audiobook to listen to... while I was cleaning and decluttering. Fiona has the most charming of accents and her tips are motivating!! Loved it!!
