Ryo Castle’s only goal in life is to be invisible. He’s spent years perfecting the art, never doing anything to draw attention to himself, and he’s grown quite content with being alone. So, he’s not entirely sure how he let himself be talked into attending a masquerade party for the opening of the new nightclub in town. It’ll probably be fine, though. After all, what’s the worst that can happen?
With more than three hundred years to amass a considerable fortune, Andre Vasso lives a life of luxury and indulgence. Yet he’s always felt that something was missing, some vital piece that would make his world complete. He just didn’t know what that was until a gorgeous mouse shifter with big green eyes literally falls at his feet.
Ryo comes with more baggage than an airport carousel, but Andre doesn’t mind. No matter how long and winding the road, he’s determined to give his mate the life he deserves. But first, he’ll have to convince Ryo that the only thing standing in the way of their happily-ever-after is his own insecurities.
Let’s be honest, I picked this book 100% based on the cover.
It was cute at first, but pretty much as soon as our couple meet, my interest waned. I wish there had been more of the lingerie and “princess” stuff, less of the B&B, conservatory, mouse house and wolf at the coffee shop.
And are we not addressing a 300 year old demon and a 20 something mouse shifter being mates? Will our mouse now live as long as the demon, did he already have a long life down? Will he die years before the demon?
Ryo was freaking adorable, I liked how Andre's quiet support gave him the confidence to be his true self. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of guys meet their mates.
Thank you for the ARC read, I voluntarily give this book an honest review. Oh this was so funny, when Ryo's friends are interfering with the newly found mates, it was hilarious when Andre scooped Ryo up in his mouth ( Enters Sammy and crew to the recuse! ) and the whole shifters talking about cryptids.. Here you get a shy mouse that loves pretty thing in private only to be mated to a demon that owns the infamous Underground club whom bring some much-needed colour to his monochrome life. What could go wrong? They never said finding your mate was easy but keep them from harm? Can Andre convince Ryo that he wish worth all the special treatment, by vanquishing the past hurts. Ryo is just this adorable little mouse shifter, that has a chance to be anybody you dream of being at the Underground Masquerade, instead of the invisible man like Ryo would have wished, Sammy has force Rapunzel on him. Spooking his mate into a shift wasnt Andre intentions, as a demon that just so happened to have his sudden possessive side kick in. I can't wait to read the other amazing authors take of Sammy, Irwin and Chester.
This is the second book in this series that I've read and I loved it as much as the first one. Ryo is a sweet, feminine mouse shifter who meets his fated mate at a costume party, while trying to help his friend, Sammy. Andre is the demon owner of the club who comes to Ryo's rescue - even if his friends initially think Andre was trying to eat him! Andre is completely enchanted with the sweetly beautiful young man that Fate has gifted him and immediately steps in to woo his shy mate. I really loved how patient and understanding Andre is of the fears and insecurities that Ryo battles. He never tries to bulldoze him or offer placating advice but simply listens, supports, and loves him. Ryo blossoms under Andre's attention and I loved how cute and adorable he is once he has that support. This is an utterly charming story that totally captivated me and a can't wait to read the next two books in the series.
This is the third in this series that I have read. I love the concept and the characters in the three books I have read. What I especially appreciated about Arden Steele's contribution was there were no grammatical errors. That annoying interruption of my reading flow did not happen. I love reading about a shifter mouse. Good story. Cute situations. The main complaint I have about these stories is I wanted more. More depth. More history of the characters. Some of the characters have lived long lives yet that was never a subject they discussed. I didn't want to say goodbye to them.
A demon and a mouse? Now that’s a combination that I haven’t encountered before but this fun story by Arden Steele makes the couple work. Low angst but high attraction with lots of lace and over the top sappy behavior by a demon in love. I enjoy when writers invent a world and then they all write books set in it like this series because you get very different perspectives and stories. It’s also a great way to find new to you authors in a genre that you like.
Four friends, one epic party and the start of a whole new life. Nocturne Bay is an interwoven series by four authors that specialize i the paranormal. This story is about a mysterious club owner that meets his mate in an unassuming mouse shifter. The two connect instantly but have to work through their differences to find happy ever after. Who would think one night could change four lives forever?
I absolutely adore Kyo. He is sweet and so cute I just want to wrap him up and protect him from everything. I love that Andre takes care of him and is so patient with his needs and the difficulties present from his past. I absolutely loved how they get to know one another and the love and acceptance of all their differences is so easy to see.
I knew these books would be good. In fact they are amazing. I love Ryo. I want to adopt him so much. And his mate is absolutely charming. Who knew a demon could have such a heart of gold? It just took a special mouse to bring it out.
This was a cute and sweet little fated mates story. Ryo’s insecurities are understandable but definitely do not come off as insurmountable. With Andre he begins to show more confidence.
Not an overly complicated story. But I nonetheless enjoyed the very conflict-free, but very self-doubty story of them meeting. This is the sort of sweetness I need in my life in these pandemic times.
I do plan to read the other stories in the series, I hope they're just as much a delight.
Cute, fluffy story. I enjoyed the light heartedness of the story. It was just a nice love story. I do think it needed more world building though. I would have liked to know if shifters all have a long life or not.
A sweet little read with likeable Characters. Ryo - Overcoming bad childhood and anxiety to feel comfortable in his skin Andre- protective possessive and kind
What can I say was not expecting to love this gem as much as I did. Now I have to go and add the others in this series to my to read list. I do recommend.
This book was simply adorable and my favorite parts are when Ryo shifted into his mouse and had fun with his mate, Andre. Love had helped heal Ryo and I totally enjoyed the journey. :D
A wonderful story with the cutest mouse shifter Ryo and how he mets his demon cat mate. Their first meeting is great, the story is wonderful and I love fated mates.
Honestly, if it was any longer I wouldn't have finished it. It's just too cheesy, the romance 0 to 100, and nothing really happens. I was interested in the premise, but it left a lot to be desired.
