Before I Let You Go
Rhyon Capers has spent her life trying to stay out of both her father and grandfather’s shadows. With both of them being prominent, successful lawyers, she followed in their footsteps and set out to create a name just for herself. Her career has been the forefront of her life, coming before everything, including her once upon a time longtime friend and lover, Emerald Hampton. Their relationship suffered long ago due to her commitment to school and her career and his rising music stardom. Years have passed and Emerald has returned to claim the woman that was always supposed to be his. However, confronting old feelings means confronting old secrets.

August of 2021, she made her BLP debut with “Pretty Caged Bird” and is continuing to grow her catalog. With a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a pending masters in Mental Health Counseling, Kimberly loves to incorporate mental health into her writings as she feels it is not talked about or address enough within the African American community.

Emerald and Rhyon’s second chance romance gave me all the feels! 🥰🥺🥰🥺 Lovers and best friends since the second grade they were always destined to be! They shared all of their firsts together and knew they were each others endgame! As their careers took them in very different directions, neither was willing to compromise at the time and their break up ended in heartbreak. Now 4 years later, growth and maturity forced them into some tough conversations as they found their way back to each other. This was a cute angst free, drama free short that will definitely leave you smiling from ear to ear!

2nd chance at forever
This was a short and sexy read. Emerald and Rhyon have been in love since elementary school. Life and pursuing dreams caused them to separate for several years, but Em always knew Rhyon was it for him. He could not see forever with anyone else but her...He came back applying pressure to get his girl back and I loved it. You could definitely feel the love between them and I enjoyed them embracing their second chance.

I love a good second chance love story! This was my first time reading this author and I like the way she told the story about Emerald and Rhyon. These two were soulmates in every sense of the word. It was clear that Rhyon wouldn’t move on because she was still in love with Emerald. I liked how Emerald didn’t waste his time, he was on a mission to get his love back. It was a really cute story. I enjoyed it. ❤️

I enjoyed this story I like how the male main character came back for his woman and was true to his feelings. Now the female main character drove me crazy but also love the family dynamics. It was a cute novella.

You are on🔥 with these bomb reads Kimberly! Love second chance romances, and this one fit the bill perfectly! Rhyon and Emerald found love at such an early age, and due to differences in their career goals they broke up; leaving them both heartbroken! Emerald realized long ago, that he was not complete without Rhyon, and now was the time to go home and get his woman! Rhyon accomplished everything that she set out to do, but she still felt a void without Emerald. His return was a shock for Rhyon, and she did not know how to handle it. Emerald was confident in his ability to get Rhyon back, and that he was not leaving without her! I loved how they took the time and put all their thoughts and feelings on the table, so that they could make informed decisions about their future. Sooooo..... Melissa and Chad??? They up next? Really enjoyed this! Great job! 👍👍👍

REKINDLING THEIR LOVE
This was a cute love story. Emerald was on a mission to get his lost love Rhyon. As much as she tried to fight her feelings for Emerald he was not letting up. I loved how their families were supportive of them. 4 years may have been a long time without contact but it was as if the distance between these two never happened. I'm glad they were able to communicate their feelings from the past and what they were seeking moving forward. Beautiful ending with new beginnings.

This was a cute novella.
I loved Emerald😍! That man came home determined to right the wrongs of the past and claim his woman baby and I wasn't mad at him. I loved the advice his parents gave him and he took it and disregarded his original plan and asked his woman "What do you need from me?" Him taking responsibility for not being what she needed when she needed him the most.
Rhyon was just like any woman who was in love and thought that love was gone forever. Then here love comes full force and she was so unprepared, those bit*he's fear and self doubt crept in as well😔. I'm glad she immediately sought the advice of her therapist cause more times than none our family and friends advise is bias and they don't always need to be included in our business. Although her parents and bestie gave her great advice, that outside advice just hit different.
I'm glad they got it together and she saw her fault in how they ended up where they were and apologized for her wrong doings as well. That ending was perfect❤.
The message was clear "Stop allowing fear to lead you through life".
This beauty has truly been on 🔥 since she stepped on the author scene and I am truly enjoying her work🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾.

When I say Mrs. Kimberly Brown came into this profession, not playing, that's an understatement. This is just her fourth book and she is building her portfolio strong and quickly. She is leaving no stones unturned. I enjoyed Ryhon and Emerald's story, especially since it was a second chance love. I do wish it was longer though, I could have read a few more chapters about them. The determination Emerald had to get Rhyon back was exemplary. He was willing to work at for months if he had too. Rhyon was able to finally tell her truth and all the secrets she held onto for years.
This is a magnificent read, you should indulge. I am excited about what is next on Mrs. Brown's agenda to release. I know it's going to be quite impressive because of her gift of writing. ✍🏾

Short and Sweet!
Emerald a super successful singer, is back home, after 4 years, to convince Rhyon to get back together and plan a future together. After 6 years, Rhyon has become the lawyer she always wanted. And she is not about to follow after a man and give up all she has worked for. And of course Rhyon is still sitting on a deep, painful secret.
How on earth is Emerald going to convince her they belong together? Can he be trusted not to up and leave again?
FYI - That restaurant scene, with Chad, her "date", is hysterical!!!

This novella was good from beginning to end and I couldn't put it down. Enjoyed the storyline and these characters and I love second chance romance. Emerald and Rhyon, were meant for each other. Their romance hit a snag due to her building her career as well as his music stardom. Years later, they reconnect and those feelings are stronger than ever. Emerald, was determined to win Rhyon back and make her his and in the end true love prevailed. Hopefully, well read about Melissa and Chad in the near future. Awesome job Kimberly Brown.

Cute
A nice quick read free of drama. Sometimes it’s nice to come across a cute little storyline that’s drama free. A nice break from the alpha male/crazy ex/ratchet female storylines. This was pure and genuine love at its best.

Love that was meant to be
This was such a beautiful well written short story. I loved the connection between Rhyon and Emerald despite the 4 years they spent t apart. When they came together it was as if those 4 years didn’t happen. I’m glad that they listened and talked to each other and put in the work to get their HEA.

Another great story. Rayon and Emerald loved each other since childhood. Emerald, an aspiring singer, left and five years later returned. He was determined and it paid off. Another must read.
