This series so far has been a perfect example of why I wish Goodreads had .5 scores. Its enjoyable, but I feel like rating it a 4 is just too high and would raise expectations. 3.5 is pretty much the exact score this series has deserved every volume so far.
Not an especially memorable book, sadly. Any bit of initial cleverness has dissipated. I think that’s part of the problem with stories focused mainly on “grinding” to increase stats. The other minor story plotlines aren’t terribly interesting in this one, and there’s not an overarching plot besides “gotta get better and work hard.” Taken as a whole it’s an okay book but it could be a lot better. Ryota is already way too overpowered. I still hate the gun. This won’t be a series I will continue to read. Additionally, the artwork isn’t anything special either. It’s serviceable, just like the story itself.
If you like it, great. I’m not trying to bash your party, have fun! However, this won’t be a series I will continue to read.
