I'm headed to Germany this fall for an exchange program for my Master's, and I've never studied German before. This audiobook was the perfect intro to the language, and just from listening to one or two chapters a day, I've been able to cover a decent amount of the basics in about a month! The only downside to listening to audiobooks is that you don't get to see the word spelled out, and I am definitely more of a visual learner. However, I just made sure to use to accompanying PDF to go over the vocab that I learned that day and see how it's spelled. Overall, definitely recommend this course for those trying to learn German on the go!
I liked the method, of listening and repeating and trying to learn German “naturally”, by recognizing patterns and similarities with English. Can’t really say my German is much improved , since I only listened to about 20 minutes once a week, but still appreciated it.
I tried learning german online for ages and didn't take in anywhere near as much information as I did with this course.
The course explains german grammar extremely well. Noble also feeds sentences to you piece by piece. As a result by the end you'll be speaking lengthy sentences and having convo's with ease.
This series helped me to the next level in my German studies. I love the simple ways that Paul allows one to learn and assimilate seemingly complex grammar structures.
I love this book/audio. It is absolutely a splendid way to learn any language. It is surreal because it seems I must understand the verbiage of the German language naturally. It must be since it is what my mother used to speak to me.
A very interesting take on language learning! Even if it's impossible to be fluent in a language in a few hours is impressive how much you end up being able to talk and how effortlessly he gets you there.
I've been studying German for a few years and I found this course to be really helpful for understanding more about German grammar - particularly direct objects, verb tenses, and when articles change. It is not a comprehensive course but makes for a nice addition to the study of German.
One of the best methods for language learning I've come across. I highly recommend Paul Noble's language books - beginning and intermediate courses in German, French, and Spanish.
