More than 3000 years ago Ramses II, the son of Seti I in the 19th dynasty of ancient Egypt, reigned as the lord of the land for 67 years. He promoted artistic endeavor and nudged architectural frontiers as he created a plethora of temples and monuments along the Nile. He had recorded in incised stone the culture of the generations he ruled. He conserved and preserved for the future the records of ancient Egypt, much as the 87-year-old Denver Museum of Natural History conserves and preserves information for our future. This was actually the accompanying book to an exhibit in Memphis, TN during the 80s. Very informative as to how great Ramesses II actually was in developing Ancient Egypt into a world power and architectural mecca.
