Zahn’s life has been anything but ordinary. While hunting archaic relics infused with magic from continent to continent, his latest search brings him to Hollywood, and then face to face with a movie star he has idolized for years.
Until now, he has only cared about the quest. But as lust and love break into his life, Zahn is caught up in a violent competition to retrieve one of the most powerful magical creations of all time from its ancient resting place. And this time, the race includes mercenaries, a centuries-old organization bent on stopping anyone from possessing it, and a killer who doesn’t understand the concept of mercy.
Well, no one ever promised him that Finding Real Magic in this world was going to be easy. But it was definitely worth dying for.
***** Fair Warning *****
This novel contains action, adventure, violence, and copious amounts of intense sex. The sexy fun contains harem elements and intense sexual descriptions that will make the innocent blush for sure.
Not bad, started off really good but fizzled for me a little towards the end. The story follows the main character Zahn, a relic diver as he is searching for an ancient magical relic. One such relic is on a movie studio. While he is there trying to find the relic, he comes across one of the most famous movie stars in the world. Someone that Zahn has been following most of his life. They get to talking and he ends up saving her from a deranged fan that tries to kill her. She of course is extremely grateful and is intrigued by this handsome mysterious man that saved her life. They end up hooking up and this was pretty hot. He decides to tell her about his secret and invites her along on his Relic hunt. She wouldn't believe that magic items exist unless she saw it with her own eyes. He introduces her to the world of relic hunting.
Two and a half stars, three to be generous Full disclosure, I DNFed this book at 35% but picked it back up a few hours later out of a misplaced urge to finish what I'd started. Adventure, Harem, graphic sex scenes, and copious stupidity. This book is full of three things. Sex, jarring inconsistencies, and confusion.
-The MC hooks up with a Hollywood starlet who is either Angelina Jolie, or Scarlett Johansson and she abandons a multi-million dollar production to go treasure hunting with a guy she just met a few hours ago. -And then the plot gets less believable. The tortured logic of the story is written entertainingly enough if you excuse the impression that Shawn Keys doesn't seem to know how anything works. The numerous sex scenes are quite pornographic and often seem like interruptions of the story rather than things that happened organically between two people, ...Or between three people, Or between four people. Also It's easier to believe in magic than any hard working self made professional woman would be charmed to be throat-piped before the first kiss, ...but that's the kind of book this is. By the end I was ready to be done.
I knew the book warned of harem shenanigans, but I didn't expect it to be this much smut. I thought there would have been a gripping story about magic coming back to the world. What I got so far (reached halfway through the book) was a "nice" understanding guy, who is buffed, personable, is hung like a horse, and can make the ladies quiver multiple times. He is also gentle when it's needed, and a great fighter.
The villains (so far) are cartoony. I would have liked to finish this, but I can't put up with it anymore. The author should have gotten a girlfriend and spent a week ravaging her before writing this book, to work out all his sexual frustrations.
I will skim through the book (first time doing this) to see how it would have ended. Maybe in the future I might be in the metal state/space to complete this novel. Who knows. From what I read so far it's 2 stars.
I skimmed, and the little bits and pieces, along with the end painted a complete picture. I will not reread this book, nor any other by the author.
The author is 1000000000000000000000000000% delusional, irrational, illogical and senseless in this one. Zahn a studio security guard, saves the princess of Hollywood (Angelina) from a crazy-assassination-attempt-by-a-disgruntled-extra, so in exchange for saving her life, Zahn, the minimum wage, orphan and shadow of a life, asks for Angelina for the rest of her life, to do as he wishes with her, and "SHE ACCEPTS!!" HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAAA!!!! Not ever. This can't even be considered fan-service, it's creepy and cringe-worthy and would never ever happen in a zillion years or in any of the alternate reality multiverses... So, with that said, and that being the main theme and idea behind this delusional-urban-magical-scavenger-hunter-of a story/book series, the answer will always be "Heck, NO! Always NO! Never ever, ninch, pas de tout!, Rien! NUNCA! Love, seduction and attraction are not geek-stalker-weirdo author's wet-dreams. They are based on ethical values, they are based on biological (instinctual) conditions, emotional and intelligence factors and never happen just because an author, thought it would be "cool" to have a "nobody" "own" the Princess of Hollywood, "just because"...
Mature, adult themes crashes headlong into urban fantasy!
First, the review title says it all; sex and magic. This is a well-written novel intended for adults with a taste for urban fantasy. Second, Mr Keys is one of those authors that sucks the reader immediately with a lot of well-researched detail, so be warned! This won't be set aside easily for other mundane tasks.
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. Had to subtract a star for the multiple errors, in particular I found the repeated use of 'grinded' more than a little jarring.
Wow! Every thing was perfect. Great story and characters. The story was perfectly paced, the characters were fleshed out nicely and the sex was written very well in my humble opinion. My only dislike was how some of the relationships seemed a little rushed.
Enjoyed this book so much, going to have to read the second book to see what happens next. I ended up liking Ash and kind of wish she wasn’t killed off. I definitely love some of the relics they found so far.

Just hates MCs that goes from supersmart martial arts expert to an idiot the next second. And there is so much that doesn't makes sense. This author seems to do this a lot. 2nd series I can't stand and dropped. Author is dropped!
I liked the story ,especially when the other part of it was what happened in the time of Camelot. A few editing errors but won’t stop me from reading the next book.
This was a fun read. Didn’t want to put it down. Plenty of action and lots of spice to keep it lively. I definitely recommend this author and all of his works. I’ve read a few different books if his and they’re all excellent
Mr. Keys has a knack for creating deep immersive worlds with well thought out characters. Each with realistic emotions and motivations. The story is a great adventure that sets the stage for a much larger series. Great fun. Can't wait for the sequel.
