I did something terrible.

It’s a nasty secret, one I never want the world to find out.

But now someone knows and they want me to get revenge for them.

Ethan Remington, Josh Dedican, Hunter Cross, Nathan Cross and Lucas Georgian are my targets, and they just so happen to rule the little town of Holly.
I have to end their rule at the local academy I’ve just moved into or else my secret is out.

That cannot happen.

I’ll do whatever it takes to keep my secret safe—even if that means taking down my unlucky victims one by one.

Don’t feel sorry for them.

They did bad things too, almost as terrible as me.

I'm going to be their worst nightmare imaginable.
And the best part?
They don't get to wake up from it.

If I’m going to hell, they are coming down with me.

Welcome to Holly Oak Academy, where money talks more than education and the rich boys do very bad things. Now they’ve met their match — me — and I’m bringing them down no matter what it takes. I have to, or else I’m a goner.

I love the FMC. She's smart, strong, and loyal. I can't wait to find out more about her past and what she did that was so terrible.

My main complaint is that when she started getting letters, she didn't immediately try to figure out who was sending them. She just accepted she had to do whatever. That doesn't quite match up with the rest of her character.

What I really liked and what worked in this book was the accumulation of her knowledge and her training to be an assassin. Using that to help her navigate the situations she found herself in was great.

Now, at the end when we find out who sent the letters, I felt like I should have guessed it because all the hints and foreshadowing were there. I didn't because I was focused on other things and I think that adds to the story. Or at least it works here.

I am definitely ready for next book. Cliffhanger!

Everything about this book screamed 'PLEASE READ ME,' and honestly, it didn't disappoint.

Consequence is a brand spanking new 5-man reverse harem, female assassin stand-alone novel by Louise Rose and Scarlett Snow, and when I say this book is filthy...

I am not playing around

I have never had a book that made me blush as hard as this one did... In this book, we follow our main character Regan Hall; after being trained to be an assassin her entire life, Regan is set on a mission to kill five of the boys to keep her past a secret. But as Regan slowly falls for each of their charms and personalities, she realizes too late that The Veil never forgets. Regan will come face to face with the one thing she has always been trying to deny, her destiny.

I loved the filth that this book put out, and no matter how much each character changed throughout the book, everything was kept very original and had almost a sense of watching it on a TV or in a show... At some points, it was super eery... But either way, I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a reverse harem bully romance with a strong FMC.

Consequence by G. Bailey & Scarlett Snow

***Previously Just Book 1, Now is Updated to a >Complete Boxset: Which Contains ALL 3 Books<.

I Give This Book a 4/5 Star Rating.

There are some areas I wish was more elaborated and not left with a ‘rushed out explanation’, but Overall I did enjoy this book.

HEA(?): Yes, though I do wish that there was more of an interaction between Regan, the Guys & Emi in the epilogue.
It felt short/abrupt and didn’t fully feel like a satisfying ending with the characters.
It doesn’t need to be another book/story, but when I close the book I just wanted that feeling that makes me crave to reread this over again cause I miss the characters so much, and it didn’t really leave me feeling like that.
Just some ‘lite’ moments.
Relationship Type: RH> Reverse Harem MFMMMM
Romance: 4/5
Heat: 4-4.5/5
Drama: 4/5
Suspense: 3.5/5
Dark(?): I Am an Avid Dark Reader, So My Rating is Different, 3.5-4/5
Pacing: The pacing within the book is fluctuating, there is a few fast points in the book.

Well, giving the general rating I was expecting a good book, aaand I was sorely mistaken. The story moves at a pace that makes little sense. The FMC is annoying and she repeated herself SEVERAL times through the book. That she was going to have to kill them and that she was a monster and an assassin and blah, blah, blah. If she is such a trained killing machine HOW THE FUCK did she allow herself to be blackmailed? She didn't even look for the blackmailer she was just "ow he knows, better do as he says" when the letters only said I know what you did. A child could say that and it doesn't make it truth. Don't get me started on the instant attraction with poorly constructed male characters. Not even her personality was stablished, she changed how she acted a lot (not to adapt as the authors mostly likely wanted) but because they never gave her a personality to begin with. I've started book 2 because I hate living a series unfinished and I can tell it so far only gets worse.

What a deliciously dark read. I love G. Bailey and I am a huge fan of Scarletts, these two together, freaking awesome. When you are warned that this is a dark read, it is. You have everything that is dark into one book. Murder, psychopaths, good old blackmail, age old betrayal and steamy sex scenes.

I really think that Consequence has become my favorite book by both authors. I think Regan is also my favorite female lead out of both authors as well. Regan is such a force to be reckoned with. Trained to do what she does, she has a hard edge. But she also has a soft side, which both of these authors did a great job of showing both sides.

The guys, what can I say but wow. I don't know who is going to be in her Harem yet. I do know there is one I really don't want to be in there. There is a cliffhanger, but to me this sets up the second installment so it didn't bother me.

Well this was super twisted and dark and don't judge me but I loved it!!! It was like Nevernight but sexier! This included lots of blackmail, a fancy boarding school, murders and LOTS of sexy alpha guys! Plus one badass female character!

And that ENDING!!! AAAAH! I need the next book ASAP!! Don't let this gorgeous cover deceive you this is not a sweet, romance. There are several dark, sexy alpha guys and I don't know how to choose a favorite. It's all so addictive!

Steaminess level: 9 (it definitely had some hot moments!)

This has an intriguing premise and it certainly is dark and twisty, it's not clear who the ultimate bad guys and not as bad guys are going to be. The downside is the timeline does jump around a lot and that made some things a bit confusing. like is she 15 or 18 years old? There are conflicting bits in the book about her age... The author does list this as an RH but that is not really apparent from what we've read so far. This was a pretty short book so hopefully, things get better sorted in book two.

We have suspense, secrets that can destroy, and a time to cry. Regan has been a trained assassin since she was a preteen. What she doesn't know is that secrets can be found out if not hidden well? When sent to a new school, someone knows her secret that even her parents don't. Who is it? Why do they want her to kill other students? Can she do it? She has to keep her secret though, right? So many secrets and not just her own. She thought she covered her tracks, but someone knows the truth of that one night.

While the premise was interesting the execution left a lot to be desired. First, a GOOD edit would have gone a long way to improving the story. This is loaded with errors!

Second, some beta readers or better beta readers might have caught all the other mistakes and things that did't add up.

Example 1: Regan's mother drops her off at the academy at the beginning of the book. She tells Regan she will see her in three years. She had to leave her previous school so I got the impression Regan is around 15 years old and a sophomore.

The situations say the characters should be older but I have read another academy/bully series where the students were sexually active, drinking and driving at fourteen. We find out towards the end of the book that Regan is 18. Makes more sense considering the subject matter but it throws off the reader about what kind of school it is or Regan's intelligence. Is she so stupid she's still a sophomore in high school? Or is the school a college/university?

Example 2: The timeline skips all over the place. Their in class one day then the next day is Sunday?

She meets someone from her past and in one sentence she left first and wanted to take that person too, then the next sentence has that person leaving first so how is the first sentence possible?

Her parents force her to start doing something at a young age but based on the revelation with the old friend and something mentioned late in the book, the time sequence makes no sense.

Regan drools over every attractive guy she comes across and the attraction seems forced or non-existent. In fact, not much in the book seems plausible. It's not well thought out or well written.

My review has been updated from when this was book 1 to include the 3 books in this series

*Spoiler Alert*
My only words for this book and its that it blows my mind!!! It completely turns the school bully RH/Romance book on its head and boy is it good. I didnt expect to like the FMC Regan because shes an assassin trained by her own parents so killing folks is basically her MO but shes also a strong, witty, bad*** character too with a touch of compassion especially for her dying friend Anne. My heart broke for Anne. So sad and made me shed a few tears.

Regan's parents have also involved her in a sick and twisted society where blood in and blood out literally means that. When she tries to fit into her new school-Holly Oak Academy she starts to receive blackmailing letters stating they know her secret and to follow their instructions or her secret will come out. This starts off a deadly game of cat and mouse. I really shouldnt love this book as much as i do especially because at the heart of it is a story about an assassin and murders but i couldnt put it down. Yes its dark in places but theres a also a heart to this book. More so with Regan, Ethan, Josh, Nathan and Lucas. Swoon Rory!!! What a Hot Scot!! It grips you from the start to finish and its a hell of a ride. Just Brilliant

Mind blown!

This book is probably my favorite book by both authors. I love them seperately, but together they managed to create something beyond amazing. Regan is the ultimate bada$s, trained to be an assassin from a young age. Despite her badas$ exterior, she also has a softer side and I love how these authors portrayed that duality to Regan's personality. There are a lot of Easter eggs hinting at her past. (And the evil geniuses we call the authors)

When Regan gets her first note, we get the name of 5 boys and it definitely threw me off my game. What are their secrets? One of them was definitely a bad apple, but the others don't look like your average villains. Piece by piece we get more information and as a reader I quickly realized that I had to throw all my expectations overboard because I was surprised at every turn.

My only remark is that I prefer knowing who is a final love interest and at this point we are given quite a few options, but nothing definite. Especially not with that huge cliffhanger. Come on ladies... I need more and I need it like right now!

I've read several academy/bully romances, but this one had a unique spin on it. Even though Regan is being blackmailed, she still has quite a bit of power, and I like that she didn't let anyone get one over on her.

The guys were kind of hard for me to keep straight for about half the book, but they seem to start developing their own personalities by that point. I'm interested in their pasts, but I can't say I particularly like any of them, though I don't think they're supposed to be all that likeable. Nathan has the most potential for me, but Lucas seems like a sleaze, what with his involvement with Regan's BFF and his dark secret. I actually hope something develops with Rory; I have more of a thing for hot older Scots than high school boys :P

I didn't see the end twist coming; I had someone else in mind completely! But after that, I'm very interested to see where this is going and how Regan is going to get out of her predicament.

Whoa

Mind blown!!! I knew this was going to be a dark romance but didn’t know how dark. And now I’m drooling while waiting for the next book. There is murder, blackmail, betrayal, hot sex, and psychopaths. It was freaking awesome!!! Just when I think I have things figured out and know where the story is going, I’m thrown a curve ball which blows my theories right out of the water. These 2 authors did an amazing job creating this story and never once did I feel as if the plot was discombobulated or unorganized. It all flowed well.

I knew getting into this book based on the description that this was a RH but I’m still trying to figure out who will be in her harem. Hunter is definitely not included in my potential harem members assessment because he’s a turd nugget (have to keep it clean for Amazon standards). It’s kind of hard to guess who will be in her harem when they keep popping up dead but it makes this story sooooo intriguing and exciting. 🤣 Speaking of dying, I was confused about Nathan at the end of the book. I thought he was already killed but then he was at the meeting place tied to a tree “unconscious”?? So did I misread it and he really didn’t die earlier in the book?

The characters were all well defined and complex as we found out as the book progressed just how many layers they hid under and how screwed up they really are. Rory and Ethan may be my favorites so far. Rory because I like the slightly older man and bodyguard kink especially if he’s dominating which we haven’t seen yet but I can only hope. I like Ethan because he’s crazy, obsessive, obviously dedicated, and a psychopath... I’m weird and have odd kinks I guess but not ashamed by them at all! Lucas, Nathan, and Josh... not so much my favorites in this book but that could all change in the next book!! Lucas is not my favorite because of his sin which I knew that as soon as Regan met HER. I didn’t find myself to be a fan of Josh because of how Josh and Regan met for the first time. Now that I think about it, I think I will add Nathan to my favorite list. His dominating behavior is hot.

While there aren’t many steamy scenes in this book and they didn’t occur until the last 60% or so of the book, they were super nova hot!! Now I just need a scene with the dominating bodyguard because I am obsessed with Rory.

This book was fantastic and a real Gem... teehehe see what I did there? These 2 authors have always created some fantastic books that I easily find myself lost in, but the 2 of them together was perfection!!!

Consequence: A Dark High School Romance (Holly Oak Academy Book 1) Kindle Edition

by G. Bailey (Author), Scarlett Snow (Author)

I borrowed this book via the Kindle Unlimited program. I am choosing to leave a fair and honest review.
G Bailey, one of the queens of high school reverse harems, returns with the story of Regan Hall and her time in Holly Oak Academy.
As usual, the interior of the book is just stunning, from the chapter headers to the type faces are extraordinary. The cover image conveys the dark and light of the story.
Regan Hall is sent to Holly Oak after leaving her previous school in less than stellar reasons. She arrives at the academy prepared to do whatever was necessary to move forward with her life in spite of the dark secrets. Unfortunately, someone calling themselves as “Truth” was blackmailing Regan. She was to find out the secrets of Joshua, Ethan, Nathan and Lucas and then kill them. In an effort to protect herself, she sets about doing just that.
Perfectly paced with heaps of details, this book moved along, trailing breadcrumbs of backstories and histories. Unlike a number of High School/Academy RH, Regan isn't bullied or unpopular. She is able but not willing to joining in unless required. This creates its own sense of tension. There is, of course, a will they/won't they and when they finally do, wow, the scenes are sensual and imaginative.
The writing is gorgeous. Told mostly through Regan's first person narration, filled with British-isms. The British-isms add a certain delightful authenticity.
All in all, I am in love with this series.

I received this free eARC novel from the author.  This is my honest review.

This book had so many surprises and twists and turns, and I loved every  minute of it!  I really loved that Regan is an assassin - that is so cool and honestly doesn't happen very often in books, so when I get the chance to read them, I devour them.  And this is even more unique because it's a contemporary -  many assassin books I've read are fantasy/sci-fi genre.

Regan is amazing and I love her.  The only issue I had was if she's this badass assassin, you think she would be able to have resources to figure out who blackmailed her.  I'm telling you, if I was her, I wouldn't have succumbed to that threat, but would have found the immediate threat, and then killed THEM.  I enjoyed seeing Regan be a strong female character who can defeat boys in fights and sports, and she is confident and cuts straight to the point.

I'm not sure how I feel about the boys she's interested in.  I didn't feel any strong vibes or connections with any of them, but I do know they will treat Regan well, which is all that matters.

I loved all of the deaths that happened in this book (...such a weird sentence to write...) because they were all well deserved. Every one was evil and despicable.

I'm really glad I got to read this book, and it will definitely stick with me for a long time!

She finds herself dropped off at Holly Oak Academy.

Surrounded by rich kids, who all have something to hide.

He found her, and he knows her secret. Now its time to play a little game....

What an introduction!! The first book in a new series, and I was sat on the edge of my seat with frazzled nerves, and loved every second of it!

A tough cookie female, who's on a mission! what is there not to love about that. I envied her strength, determination and ability to change her personality at the drop of a hat.

Five very unique and very different male characters all dance around her, with varying emotions upon their faces.

I'm still not sure even now who's caught my eye the most! they all have their redeeming features but are surrounded by a darkness that few see.

The storyline is captivating and quite unlike any other academy read. There's a hidden truth behind each character, and like Regan I both need and want to know them all!

My mouth is watering at the endless possibilities for this series and I cant wait to see what happens next!

Wow this book was really great!!

This book was a little different than other books I've read by G. Bailey, but I loved it!!

Regan has a Secret... she's training to be an assassin for a secret organization called the Veil which her adopted parents have forced her into. She moves to a new Academy and almost immediately starts being blackmailed to kill 5 guys or her secrets will be told. During this time, she meets Lucas, Nathan, Ethan, Josh and Nathan's brother Hunter who is abusive and evil. She also has her own bodyguard, Rory, who is a silver fox (although we never learned his age but I wonder how big the age gap really is?). Other than Hunter, she develops relationships with all her targets.

This was a fabulous story and I really enjoyed it. The only part that I caught that was wrong is that it went back and forth between it being 5 guys she needed to assassinate to 4 guys and back and forth. The ending to this book was sooooooo awesome!!!

I recieved an ARC for my honest review.

Ahhh this book has the makings of a killer (no pun intended) series! This book is based in an Academy but it is NOT what you think! We are given a very capable and BA main female character named Regan. Very quickly we learn that Regan isn’t all she appears to be; instead of your average rich girl she’s being trained to be an assassin by her wealthy, detached parents. She is dropped off at a new boarding school, where someone almost immediately begins blackmailing her claiming to know her secret and threatens to make it public knowledge. It is at this point we are introduced to the names and later the actual characters of 5 boys she has been given as marks. The test for Regan is to kill these boys, though the more she gets to know them the harder that becomes.

The whole setting of this book was really well plotted out. The attention to detail is impeccable and you really could imagine yourself at this school. The characters show fantastic promise to develop even more and become their own people very quickly. The twists this book took left me whiplashed and unable to stop reading. It is a very dark book that doesn't seem to have a light appearing at the end of this tunnel any time soon!

I have become obsessed with G. Bailey very recently and she does not disappoint in this delivery. I am waiting with baited breath for the next book!

New and unusual🤭

This is a new one from G.Bailey and Scarlett Snow, not a combo I’ve read before but definitely like.

Consequence is the first in the Holly Oak Academy
series. It’s a fast paced dark RH romance & watch out there’s a cliffy.

Regan has a secret she is willing to kill for to keep secret, good thing she’s an assassin, but the marks she needs to kill also have sins they’re hiding. Regans blackmailer wants her to uncover them before she is to dispose of them permanently. Sucks that she starts to fall in love with them tho...!

Regan is a badass (assassin like duh), she has quite a troubled backstory and upbringing. I really like her she’s brutally honest even though she must lie constantly.

I am seriously intrigued by the story and how it’s being revealed, I really need to know what’s going to happen and what Regan will do.

Oh my goodness this book is seriously fantastic. Written by two of my favorite authors I definitely had high hopes, but wow I am blown away.

So honestly I've been a little sick of the whole bully high school romance trope for a while now so I was a little hesitant to pick this one up but these ladies included quite the fun spin that was just what I needed to fall in love with this story.

Reagan is definitely one of my new favorite FMCs. She is a total bada*s and I am dying to know her secret! I'm also really looking forward to figuring out who is in her harem. With guys dying and secrets coming out we are definitely left scrambling to figure out who she'll end up with.

This book ends on a huge cliffhanger and I cannot wait to read what happens next! This series is gonna be crazy good and is already shaping up to be one of my favorites! I'm very excited for more!

Interesting story and characters

Just a warning - I would call this either a PREQUEL or a book with a CLIFF HANGER. It was very good and made me want to find out what happens after the last page.

Our main character, Regan Hall, has at least one secret of her own which someone else claims to know and proceeds to blackmail Regan into playing a deadly game. Deadly for five fellow students at her new school, Holly Oak Academy and maybe for Regan herself. What sins have they committed to be on someone's hit list? Five gorgeous guys Regan will need to get close enough to kill. Close she gets and kill she does, but who's alive and who's next in Sacrifice: A Dark High School Romance (Holly Oak Academy Book 2) being released February 29, 2020.

This book did contain violence, cursing, and sexual scenes.

Wow, what a powerful story.
Murder, assassins, revenge, and hate. But in the end. LOVE. Regan was adopted at seven years old by a wealthy couple. To the world they seem like perfect, upstanding citizens. Both judges. But they are part of an organization of assassins, and they trained Regan from a young age to be one too. But Regan has secrets she’s kept from them, and when she starts at a new boarding school, someone sends her notes saying they know she’s done and if she doesn’t kill five of the most popular guys at the school, her secrets will be revealed. But there are more secrets than she knows. The person blackmailing her is someone she knew a long time ago, and her adopted parents have been keeping secrets from her. She wants away from their life, but the group they belong to will never let anyone leave. And how is she to kill the guys that she’s falling in love with. Even though she knows they have done terrible things in their past. Or have they?

I adore both of these authors and am so happy they are co writing this series!! Our FMC is BA!! You quickly learn that she isn’t all she appears to be; instead of your average rich girl she’s being trained to be an assassin by her wealthy, detached parents. She is dropped off at a new boarding school, where someone quickly begins blackmailing her with a huge secret that could ruin everyone and everything around her. It is at this point we are introduced to the names and later the actual characters of 5 boys she has been given as marks. There is definitely a lot of redeeming to be done by these boys and that cliffhanger made me want to chuck my iPad at the wall. I cannot WAIT for the next book in the series! Bravo ladies for a fantastic read!

This was so different to what I normally read! It started out almost like your typical bully romance but I soon realised it was so much more when the story went in a different direction...it definitely grabbed me straight though especially when we find out that the MFC has a secret and will do ANYTHING to protect it!!! I loved the guys in the story and the various twists, which i didn't see coming! It was also really emotional in places which surprised me. I will also say that the story did have a dark edge to It, but I loved that, and the characters were definitely interesting!
Will definitely be reading more from this author!
