Life gave her lemons, so Trudy chucked them back.

Trudy’s life is a wreck. No job, a sick son, and a thick stack of unpaid medical bills.
Her family and friends keep trying to set her up. (As if a man will solve all her problems!) Trudy shuts them all down, because she’s got a foolproof plan this time around. She won't go out for so much as a latte until she graduates, finds steady work, and pays off all her debt.
After weeks of looking, she finally lands a paying job. It’s only an interim assistant position, but it comes with medical insurance. Everything is going exactly according to plan.
Until she discovers someone is stealing from her new boss. Trudy reluctantly agrees to help him catch the thief—after all, if the business fails, she’s out of work—but it grows harder and harder to ignore one tiny detail. Her boss is hotter than a summer day in Atlanta, and he’s flirting with her.
But she will not be distracted from what really matters, not this time. She already learned her lesson the hard way—he isn’t Mr. Right if you meet him at the wrong time. Can she stay the course? Or will she find that sometimes the best things in life aren’t on the checklist?

Life's never perfect, but sometimes love can be.

I really enjoyed reading this book, and I think it's my favorite so far in the series. I loved both Trudy and Paul. I found them both to be relatable characters. Trudy and her son, Troy stole my heart. I liked that Trudy wanted to do certain things for herself before she got into a relationship, and I loved that Paul gave her the space to do that.

Though the characters are relatable in many ways, in some ways this series is pure escapism with hot rich guys, beautiful women, and everything always gets tied up in a nice neat little bow of happily ever after. At times I couldn't help think of how easy things seemed for Trudy being in the situation she was in as a single mother who went back to school, and then had to find a job. It seemed far too easy for her to find the perfect job, and then get the subsequent promotions, but I was able to ignore that. I appreciate that these are clean romance books that focus on romance instead of sex, and they remind me a lot of Hallmark movies, which are also pure escapism. If you enjoy escaping into these sorts of books then you will probably like it.

Thanks to the author for giving me an advanced copy of this book.

I just love Trudy and Paul, they’re so funny together (or should I say Gerty and Jack?). It’s about time Trudy had something marvelous happen in her life. After her previous choice in her rotten, selfish husband, she desperately needs to find who she really is without the help of a man or her family. Little does she know, fate has other plans for her.

Paul is the perfect partner for Trudy. He loves kids and he understands Trudy. He’s felt what it’s like to be overshadowed by the seemingly perfect older sibling. He knows how to be a true friend which is the solid base for a real relationship which is exactly what Trudy needs in her life.

I love how the author shows all the parallels in the lives of the two main characters and how they’ve handled the situations. This is such a wonderful redemption story and we finally get to meet some characters who have only ever been talked about before (no spoilers here!).

I really like how we still get glimpses of all the previous characters’ lives so we don’t miss out on anything important. If you enjoy a great mistaken identity romance, then this is the perfect book for you to read next.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT
Life's never perfect, but sometimes love can be.

MY TAKE
We met Trudy in the first book of the series. She's Mary's younger sister. It was fun to get to see everyone from that particular group again and have walk-ons by Trig and Geo, though more from Trig.

Trudy and Mary are kind of messed up because of the way their parents abandoned them, either physically or emotionally. Trudy added to hers by marrying a loser who cheated on her and continues to try to cause problems for her over child support. But she has a sweet son who's also got a potentially life-threatening health issue--childhood diabetes.

But Trudy is a fighter. She's finally finished school and is ready to do it on her own, rather than always relying on her sister.

Funny that she gets so upset at the love interest about wanting to do the same thing when his secret comes to light.

But, she's been offered jobs by both Mary and her fiancé Luke, but Trudy wants to prove she can do it on her own. So her friend Paisley helps Trudy with her resume and suggests she go for an assistant job with an opportunity for an IT one since Trudy's found businesses want a lot of experience for that.

She gets a job with a start-up company whose assistant is very pregnant. And whose apparently hit-and-miss there boss is drop-dead gorgeous. When she first meets him, Jack ends up firing one of the employees. Not a great impression and it doesn't help that Trudy's kind of mouthy to him. But he seems to like it.

Anyway, back on the Mary and Luke front, they're always trying to talk Trudy into meeting Luke's younger brother Paul. Neither Paul nor Trudy have been interested. They're both satisfied to meet each other at Mary and Luke's wedding.

Except that Jack is Paul. And he and Trudy are falling for each other. But she's got this list of things she wants to mark off before she'll consider getting involved again. And a thing about guys who lie (even though she does it all the time which was something I struggled with a little).

There's espionage and some hints about Paisley's story which I'm sure is to come. And a delightful storyline with her son about a dying/dead daisy and the faith of a child. The resolution is sweet.

I listened to the audiobook, and the narrators, Jennifer Jill Araya and Connor Crais, did a great job again.

I've never been addicted to anything but diet coke. But after reading three of these books in a row and downloading the fourth already feels like it may be considered my crack of choice. This one was a bit different than the first two because there was a bit of mystery at the beginning. And I loved that. This story about Trudy and Paul was just as fun and sweet as the others. I did find a few typos in this one but I didn't care because I was turning pages so fast it didn't bother me. Now on to my next fix. Number four...Finding Liberty.

I couldn't wait to read Trudy's story. I have been moving my way through this series and I have loved every last one of them.

Trudy is a single mom, a recent divorcee, who is working on her bachelor's degree and trying to keep things afloat. Her 4 year old son has some health concerns and she is completely overwhelmed. The last thing she wants is to be set up for dates. She tells her family and friends to back off.

Trudy needs a job and luckily she lands the first job she applies for. She is filling in for the assistant to the boss who is getting ready for maternity leave. She hopes she might be able to show her skill as an IT professional, too. That way she can get some experience that all the employers are requiring to get a job in her field.

Paul is Luke's younger brother. He is very handsome, very successful and very determined to stay single for now. She is busy working two jobs developing new products. Paul's second job is a secret and he is operating under an alias. So, when Trudy meets him she meets him as Jack and not Paul. Unfortunately, Paul or "Jack" is her sister's fiancé's younger brother. This can't possibly end well; or can it?

I love how this series weaves the stories of this group of friends and family. You feel like you are part of the group and they could be your best friends. I listened to the audiobook of this book and I really like the narrators of this series. They do a great job.

This is a clean story that is appropriate for anyone who loves a good, wonderfully romantic story with a happy ending.

Finding Spring, the third book in the Almost a Billionaire series written by Bridget E Baker is about Trudy (Gertrude) and Paul. Both characters have been introduced to us in book 1 called Finding Faith. Even though this is a series this book is written in a way that it can be read as a standalone novel without any trouble. This is a special talent of Bridget’s because with most series you have to read them in order to understand them but you will be receiving background to understand the characters that is not repetitive and gives you a much deeper insight into people you are going to love through the story.

Bridget E Baker writes in a light, fun, and entertaining way. This story has lots of facets to it that make it relatable. And Bridget always makes sure to do ample research before writing any novel. This novel has some references to modern technology which she has incorporated beautifully and wrote it in a way that even a novice can understand. When reading this novel you will be in love, you will be angry, you will be intrigued trying to figure out the puzzle, you will cheer them on, and you will be on the edge of your seat but most importantly you won’t be able to put the book down because the story just draws you in from the beginning and you will want to know how it ends. Will love prevail and end up being perfect?

Trudy has had plenty of misfortunes. Her husband, a total looser, left her and their young son who has become sick with a stack of medical bills. Due to her having gotten married so young she never finished college and just recently lost her job. Thankfully Trudy has amazing friends who help keep her entertained and trying to set her up but that is not what Trudy wants. She has reached rock bottom and to come back she has a plan. 1. finish College, 2. get a good Job, 3. pay off all her debt; then and only then will she allow love back into her life. But Bridget E Baker does a great job making us feel with Trudy and the struggle she is experiencing. Finding the perfect job when you don’t have a finished College Degree can be a struggle. And having a sick child with medical debt stacking up does not make it any easier. But finally, Trudy gets a break when she finds a job that also offers medical insurance which is more than she was hoping for. Will this job be the way to get on track in her life again or will the sexy new boss throw her a curveball?

Paul is an entrepreneur who is trying his best in making sure his new startup is going off without a hitch. His constant fear of company espionage makes him a little skiddish and when he is forced to hire a substitute assistant, because his is going into labor, he is not happy with his world. One thing he doesn’t have time for is dating, his priority is very clear to him but nobody else knows about his dreams. Therefore, he is constantly dodging his brother Luke’s suggestions on finding love. Will his luck change? Can he have both, a successful startup and a love life?

A fantastic office romance with a single mom
5 stars overall, 5 stars story, 5 stars narration

I highly recommend this series and this third book to everyone who likes light contemporary romances. There are a few serious parts, but it is almost a rom-com. It is best to read the books in order, but it is not necessary. The writing is as good as the best contemporary romances out there, and Bridget E. Baker deserves to be famous. The story is exquisitely passionate without having any graphic love scenes. The vivid writing rivals that of Helen Hoang in “The Bride Test”, Sylvie Stewart, Lisa Becker, or Penny Reid.

I love the clever writing that makes the meet-cute plausible. I love the respect between Trudy and Paul. I appreciate the realism of Trudy’s busy life as a newly divorced mom of a cute little boy. Trudy’s new start on life is inspiring with her finishing her degree, a new career, and realizing what is important in a relationship. The ending was so satisfying. I also like the attention to detail in the setting in Atlanta.

The narrators, Jennifer Jill Araya and Connor Crais, both gave excellent performances. Jennifer Jill Araya sparkles with enthusiasm, humor, and nuanced emotions. Her beautiful character voices showcase her versatility with children’s, men’s, and women’s voices. Connor Crais brought Paul’s (AKA Jack’s) perspective to vivid life. He was great at expressing Paul’s inner thoughts.

I requested and received a free audiocode from the author via Audio Bookfly, and I voluntarily wrote this honest review.

Lovely simple story with some great characters. Really enjoying the series and can'twait for the next book.
BUT I wish there was more realism about type 1 diabetes in there. It is just not the big drama in the ways this author is using it. In book 1 of the series Trudy gets Troy in a clinical trial or somesuch and pays a bunch for "the best treatment." Where's the cgm from this? Kid would not have had a severe low during his nap if they had shared Dexcom cgm data with the sitter. Most diabetics have glucagon injectable in their home for such situations. And no one has to calculate their insulin dose anymore. That's done by a pump or an app these days.
Also type 1 diabetics need carbs to not go into DKA. I appreciate that they measure all the food, and trying to stay low carb but a growing, active kid is going to be fine with a little extra jam. And ice cream would be my nutritionally preferable food choice vs pretzels, which also raise glucose. The daily grind is treating lows after exercise or highs after a party/stressful situation. I was totally on board with Paul putting money in the Easter eggs though. That was majorly realistic and thoughtful. My mom used to buy my Halloween candy from me and it had me thinking about that.

This is the third book in the Almost a Billionaire Series. Jennifer Jill Araya and Connor Crais narrate. Each book keeps getting better and better. This book revolves around Paul, Luke's brother, and Trudy, Mary's sister. Trudy is recently divorced and has a young son, Troy. She has been relying a lot on her sister Mary, and she finally wants to get her own job, and make her own money. She is one semester away from graduating college with an IT degree. She lands a temporary assistant job at a start up company. Paul is trying to make it on his own, and not constantly ride on the coattails of his brother Luke. Meanwhile, Mary and Luke have been wanting to set Trudy and Paul up for date. It has never worked out. Unless, they have already met, and don't realize it...

I loved how the narrator's bring this sweet, fun romance to life. I was consumed by Connor and Jennifer's story telling. I love duet narration, and getting both Trudy and Paul's point of view made the book that much better. I also, once again, love the Australian accents! Well done! Looking forward to more in the series!

Trudy is having a difficult time and she needs to find a job. She finds one and unbeknownst to her, she ends up working with Paul, the brother of Luke, the hero from the first book. She does great and I appreciated that she was written to be overall quite competent. This book was basically about sibling issues. Both Trudy and Paul felt like they were in their siblings shadows. So that was one issue they had to deal with. Then, there was a mystery associated with who the heck was trying to destroy Paul's family. And that was interesting. I really enjoyed most of the book.

Then Trudy annoyed me. We find out who Paul's saboteur was and the reason for the sabotage was ridiculously childish. But Trudy decides that the guy is worthy to have a conversation and even, to consider as her employer? It's fairly ridiculous and I totally lost respect for Trudy. So I give this book 3 stars because I enjoyed about 70% of the book and I loved the narration by Connor Crais and Jennifer Araya but I ended up really disliking the direction of the characters.

Trudy’s life has not gone as intended. Abandoned by her abusive, lazy, terrible and cheating husband, Trudy has no choice but to move into her sister’s (Mary book 1) house with her young son while she tries to get back on her feet. She made a list to remind her daily of her goals to finish college, get a good job and don't fall in love until she has her life back on track.

As she finishes her degree in computer technology as an IT person, she finds a job working for Mr. Jack Cambell as her full name Gertrude. Jack is trying to make it on his own going by his middle name instead of Paul (Luke's brother) whom her sister has been trying to fix her up with.

As Trudy finds foul play - as someone tries to steal Jack's technology, the two of the go on an adventure trying to save his company. I love that Trudy ends up being such a strong woman and mother. Jack has to find his way healing his own self esteem.

It's a fun journey as the fall in love, heal and trust each other. HEA, full novel and no cliffhanger.

3.5 STARS - ROUNDED UP

First book I've read in the series and it is a standalone. I may have enjoyed it more if it had more of a back story on the other characters.

The first part of the book was believable, but then it became a cookie cutter. You know at a certain point the author is taken you down the path of a secret. The H had plenty of time to tell the h but he didn't, and it blew up in his face.

Clean story with some passionate kisses. I liked the kids in this story and enjoyed their insights. Especially liked that the h's son had an illness. I have a family member with the same thing, and it was spot on. Especially brought tears to my eyes when he says, he just wants to be normal. I've heard that said.

No cheating for our MC, little on romance, some interesting twists, great secondary characters, HEA and only kisses. Ends at the 95% mark on my e-reader, rest blurb for the next story.

I can't improve on the blurb, just giving you extra tidbits to decide whether to purchase. (ljb)

I enjoyed reading this book, although, I thought it was a little too far-fetched. I don't think I'm giving anything away when I say it's a 'happily ever after.' It was too over-the-top perfect. Both sisters end up marrying multi-millionaire brothers. These two sisters grew up with practically no parenting (their mother abandoned them when they were four and eight, and the father is a dysfunctional drunk). How did they survive as children? Trudy was a little over-board with her independence and her list to be completed before she started dating again, even when this kind, handsome, wealthy, successful man loved her. But I liked the story enough to give it a 4-star rating. It just wasn't one of those books that I was eager to get back to. I knew all along how it would end. The little boy, Troy, was an adorable character, and I liked the bit about him watering the dead plant on the front porch. It comes into play near the end. Cute story, but I'm not going to read any more in the series.

Trudy is a devoted mother to her four year old son who was absolutely charming and delightful, but her life is a wreck with no job, unpaid medical bills and no time for a relationship. Her older sister Mary has been helping, but Trudy wants to prove her worth. After weeks of looking, she finally takes a job as an interim assistant in an IT firm, but her skills go way beyond as she helps her boss Jack track the thief who is stealing their ideas and concepts. Jack is also trying to prove his self-worth. Both main characters felt overshadowed by their older siblings and wanted to strike out on their own. They were very likable and Jack/Paul was very patient with Trudy while waiting for their HEAs.

Each of these stories in the Finding Home series is full of love and family. They're clean, yet romantic with great dialogue. Now on to Brekka's story. I can hardly wait. Kudos to the narrators as well. It's truly a wonderful series!

“Poor Trudy” is probably what she hears in her head, but not in the way that she is pitying herself. More what she thinks everyone else sees when they look at her. Poor, as in lacking in worth. Could not be further from the truth as you see as you get to know her in this book. Trudy is just as deserving of a real love and partner as her sister is. She survived an abusive ex-husband and is a single parent to a young child with serious medical needs. She is much smarter than she gives herself credit for and I found myself rooting hard for her in this book. She’s had more than enough of lying, sneaky men and can handle juggling a new job, promotions, crushes, and being a loving mom to a very active little boy just fine on her own. It’s just nice to have someone to walk through life with you, too.

A heartwarming story with a little mystery

Truly gets her story in this volume of the Finding Home Series. Now divorced, Trudy and son Troy live in Mary's house while Mary has moved into her new home and is getting ready for her wedding to Luke.

Trudy has a list of things she wants to accomplish - graduate, get a job and repay her debt to Mary. It seems almost impossible, even though graduation is close but where can she find a job with health benefits? And how can she get people to stop trying to fix her up with Luke's brother Paul?

When the right job falls into her lap, life begins to look a little brighter, but someone is out to sabotage her bosses start up. Can Trudy help solve the mystery? Can she finally achieve her goals and feel free to love again?

It's a good read!

A Love by Any Other Name

Jack (Paul) and Gertie (Trudy) work well together to trap the corporate spy.
Paul is cool with it when he learns that Gertie is really Trudy. But Trudy blows a gasket when she finds out that Jack is Paul. Because Chris lied to her throughout the almost four years of a disastrous marriage. She won't have a liar. And so she goes to work for his worst enemy.
Well. His worst enemy is her boss's boss's boss's boss's boss's boss.
When he offers her a job reporting directly to him she turns him down.
Baker writes happy endings that grow organically from the situation at hand.
Recommended for all readers of clean billionaire romance.

Perfect and Clean Romance
What a wonderful and heartwarming story! This is a full-length book which means that the author can flesh out all of the details of her story. And I don't mean the nonsensical details of who wore what or who ate what. This is a clean romance that touches on the emotional struggles that we all go through as we become the adults we want to be and get ourselves on the correct path. There are many emotional issues along the way that the reader can surely identify with. Although this book can stand alone, I believe that the reader will enjoy each story more if they are read in order. I received this book from the author and this is my honest opinion.

*This book was provided to me for an honest review*

This is the best book in the series so far! The storyline is unique compared to many romance novels. There is some mystery and espionage which keep things interesting and unpredictable. I couldn’t wait for the characters to figure out who was who! Compared to the previous books in the series, this couple and their relationship seemed very realistic and not at all rushed. The only complaint I can think of is that I wish we got to know Paul’s background and personality more; it was definitely primarily focused on Trudy.

I listened to this book and the narrators did amazing! They were fitting.

This is a clean romance - no steamy scenes.

This book talks about my least favourite of the male characters in the series, and I must admit, it kind of made me change my mind. It’s nice to see a human side to Paul. In real life I see this couple as a total mismatch, but in the book, they absolutely make sense. The series keeps on getting better and better and I know the best is yet to come, so keep reading! the narrators were both brilliant. i love both voices and they were able to switch between characters very easily and effortlessly. they acted both in a very believable way. i have received a free copy of this audiobook and i am leaving an honest review in exchange.

Trudy, Troy, and Paul Jack Make Four! 3.65***** Spoiler Alert!

Trudy, Mary's younger, gaslit, up and coming IT-savvy sister met Paul aka Jack, Luke's younger, smarter, brother at his secretive start up invention company, SITB. Together they locate the spying key logger placed by his ex-Cynthia and revengeful James, took his product successfully to launch and realized who and what they are to each other...soul mates. Trudy finally accepted Paul's proposal once she competed her 'priority list' and Troy got his wish for a good daddy! HEA!!

Great returning characters, with a predictable plot and a theme of believing in oneself.

How did I not know about author B.E. Baker until now!! Finding Spring is book 4 on the Finding Home series and it can be read as a standalone. In fact it’s the first Ive read in this series and I had no problem starting at book 4.

This book had it all for me. Growth, mystery, family, beautiful friendships, ohh it was just so good! I loved Trudy’s relationship with her 4 year old son. Sometimes kids aren’t written as kids but he was perfect. I also loved the childhood diabetes rep that was in this book. I feel like I learned so much about it and how big of a challenge it would be. The banter between Trudy and Paul was so fun. I loved them together.

Basically, I loved everything!!!

This is the fourth book I've read in this series. Finding Grace is a novella (.5) which I read after the first book Finding Faith. The novella introduces Addy and the others which was very good.

I love Paul and Trudy and their love story. The supporting characters are great and I love the children as well. Kids never have a filter so it makes the story even better.

This author develops the characters and her books do not include bad language or sex. She develops her characters and the romance is always clean. Her books move along which makes them a fast read.

I highly recommend this author and definitely this series.

I really loved this book. So much that I'm feeling regrets about having the first 2 books on my kindle and waiting so long to start reading them. I enjoy reading series where the characters are interconnected across the books. I loved how Trudy and Paul met. Mistaken identity on both sides? That was a new twist on the classic trope that I haven't read before. It created great tension in the book. In the previous book you get the feel that Paul is a bit of a jerk or something, but he redeems himself in this book for sure. It's so sweet.

Finding Spring(The Finding Home Series Book 3)

Mary wanted her sister Trudy to meet Luke's brother Paul. Neither Paul nor Trudy are interested. Trudy on her quest to gain independent of Mary's has gone to college for IT and refuses to date until she accomplishes her to do list. Paul needs to prove he can stand on his own independent of his great brother Luke so sets up a start up company. Paul and Trudy's lives collide but they have no idea who the other is. Can lies and misunderstanding derail their relationship. Very intriguing story. A real page turner.

Paul is feeling 2nd to his older, more accomplished brother, Luke. Luke and Mary's story was in the first book, Finding Faith. Luke and Mary have repeatedly tried to get him to meet Mary's sister Trudy. Neither will acquest to the brother/sister's efforts to get them together. Organically they do meet, but each is going by a different name, for reasons of their own. They are very attracted to each other and shocked when they find out "who" the other actually is, just before the wedding. I enjoyed the story and the continuation of the friends involved.

Adorable, funny, and a total page turner. This series gets better and better each book. I'm not normally a fan of boss/employee relationship books but this one was really cute. I love how she is so strong but sweet at the same time. Adding in some mystery to it on the business side was a great idea! I think the author made it even more fun by throwing in fake names.

Finding Spring is such a beautiful story of overcoming your past, finding love, and becoming the best version of yourself. I highly recommend this story. Baker has such a wonderful way with words.

Enjoyable

I truly enjoyed this book. I have read several of the books in this series, all out of order so it was good to come back and find out details I had missed when I read Paisley and James ' story.
Trudy is so much stronger than she ever thought. I love that she found herself and came to peace with everything. I loved all the characters in this series. Great job Ms. Baker.
Highly recommend but encourage you to read in order. It's hard for me to pick my favorite. Clean stories .
