This is a very interesting book on balanced scorecards. If you don't know what these are, you probably don't want to read this book :)

I learned a lot about how scorecards are set up and managed, and the basic premise of measuring financial, customer-facing, internal process-related, and employee development metrics is an interesting one. Well worth a read if you are a biz person. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

I found this book so clearly laid out that I ended up becoming Paul's co-authors for a book on a related topic. The book is not amazingly engaging, but it makes its points clearly and you can quickly go back to it and find the sections you need. Very recommended for management consultants who work with BSC or anyone at an organization responsible for leading a BSC project.

Loved the structure and approach to explaining the implementation and key considerations of implementing a Balance Scorecard with Strategy maps. Good templates to help with the construct and work through checklists to help make sure everything gets done. Author does a good job of highlighting the pitfalls and providing his experience and insight on how to tackle although I think even more could have been done. If I have one criticism it is that there was quite some repetitiveness in places and while I put this down to him wanting tohelp the reader dip in and out for guidance/inspiration anyone reading front to back as I did was left thinking "get to the point" at times. Good read overall though and left me even more convinced that this is a process that could and does work.

OK; good intro to BSC. Not spectacular though. I wont recommend this book, I am sure there are better (read "easier") books on this topic for new-to-BSC readers.
