BOOK 1: Click Date Repeat

These days, finding love online is as commonplace as ordering that coveted sweater. But back in 2003, the whole concept of internet dating was still quite new, with a stigma attached to it that meant those who were willing to test the waters faced a fair amount of skepticism from friends and family.

Such is the case for Chloe Thompson, a restless 20-something tired of the typical dating scene and curious about what she might find inside her parents' computer. With two serious but failed relationships behind her, Chloe isn't even entirely sure what she's looking for. She just knows that whatever it is, she wants to find it.

Chloe's foray into online dating involves a head-first dive into a world of matches, ice breakers and the occasional offer of dick pics, all while Chloe strives to shake herself of the ex who just refuses to disappear. Will she simultaneously find herself and "the one" online, or will the ever-growing pile of humorous and downright disastrous dates only prove her friends and family right? There's only one way to find out...

Click. Date. Repeat.

"Chloe's journey of self-discovery and acceptance warmed my heart as did the ending to this lovely, heartfelt story." - Author Tess Woods (Love at First Flight)

"A light, fun read with moments that have you laughing out loud. The story is quick and in constant motion, never a dull moment!" - WordsAPlenty

"From the first hilarious and disastrous date, I thought that this was going to be a lighthearted, humorous look at online dating, but what you get is so much more." - Books, Chocolate and Wine

While Click Date Repeat is funny and extremely charming, the relationship dynamics represent more reality than just an interesting story." - San Francisco Book Review

Click Date Repeat is an excellent read; a funny, thought-provoking and at times cringe-inducing look at the world of online dating in the early noughties.

The story centres upon Chloe, a twenty-something teacher who is single and, after a few failed relationships, has decided to give online dating a try. Her decision is met with mixed reactions from friends and family, and comes with mixed results as she throws herself into some serious serial dating. You'll have to read the story to find out if she finds Mr Right and gets her HEA. What I will say, however, is that it is far from smooth sailing along the way!

KJ Farnham does a fine job of exploring the thrills and pitfalls of what was (back then) a new phenomenon, whilst simultaneously developing characters who are very real in their mix of confusion, hopes, despairs and desires. This is undoubtedly an entertaining, tightly-crafted story of something to which we can all relate: the need for love. Highly recommended: 5 stars.

Click Date Repeat Again is the second novel in the series by K J Farnham. It can be read and enjoyed as a novel in its own right; however, as a huge fan of Click Date Repeat I would recommend reading that one first as it hugely enhances the reader’s enjoyment of the second story.

In Click Date Repeat Again we meet Jess Mason, a twenty-something who has just come out of a bad relationship and who has a pretty poor track record with the opposite sex. Her friend, Chloe, who we met and got to know in the first book, has bought Jess a subscription to a dating website. Sceptical but nonetheless keen to break the habit of a lifetime and find a nice guy, Jess jumps feet first into the world of online dating, with some unexpected and amusing results!

In short, I absolutely adored this book. Stylistically it is flawless, and the story flows at a perfect pace. I found myself completely absorbed and unable to put it down, desperate to know whether Jess was going to get her happy ending. Farnham does an amazing job in creating some memorable characters: Jess is complex, a little vulnerable and hugely sympathetic, and I found myself really cheering her on towards the end, hoping that she was going to end up in the arms of one guy in particular. If you want to know which guy and whether she does….well, you’ll just have to read it to find out.

Five stars. An amazing read; highly recommended for fans of women’s fiction, contemporary fiction and romance.

Witty but profound.

•A lighthearted and fun read. Chloe learns to accept herself as she navigates her way through online dating fails and the stigma associated with it in its early days. Her cast of friends are as much fun as the funny dating tales.
•Chloe's best friend Jess takes her shot at online dating with a totally different approach, and why wouldn't she, it's Jess after all?!! I truly felt this was the best of the two books and maybe its because I associated with Jess more than Chloe. The character development was astounding and the story was one I did not want to put down. Witty yet profound.

Really fun read!

I didn't realize the time frame of the stories were the early 2000's when I started reading but it was such a great look back to the past and so well written. I loved the characters and all the funny mishaps in dating online. Chloe and Daran are so great and Jess a and Sawyer were perfect. I'll definitely be rd reading this one more than once!

Click Date Repeat Series Box Set (Click Date Repeat, Click Date Repeat Again)

The characters are believable and realistic, as are the bad dates. Although these were online scenarios, they were reminiscent of dating in its former life, friends, family and bar fix ups. The second book was the funnier of the two.

Book 1:
The story is about Chloe who is looking for Mr. Right in all the wrong places. ALL of them. So she tends to go for men I can stand, she is very quick to move on or date multiples. Won't say no to a guy, likes being a doormat and has shitty friends. Im going to read book 2 just to see what happens.

Book 2:
in the second book we get to follow Jess and her hunt for a man. the storyline is definitely cute and quirky and I enjoyed that the author updated us on the characters from the first book. there were a few misspellings but overall the storyline was great. I almost wonder if we're going to get another book in the series to find out where everybody goes from here.

I bought the original separate books before the box set was available. I just loved the easy style of this author. This is a humorous look at online dating and the story -even though based in the past- is very much relevant today, maybe, even more so. This was an entertaining read full of quirky observations and some introspection. The characters were lively and fun and really fleshed out. Overall this was a fun chick lit story that was well written, fast paced and entertaining. Just love the new covers on this version!

To true

First off I love the fact this takes place in not only WI but Milwaukee. The descriptions of the online dating both character's go through is so on point. I think I have experienced each one myself. Thank you for this great dual.

Click Date Repeat is basically the story of Chloe and her online dating experiences. I found this book to be both funny as well as sad, but I don't want to get into that as it might ruin it for you. If you're looking for an "easy" read with some humor as well as an actual story, don't hesitate to pick this one up. I loved it. KJ does a great job of developing her characters and her writing is incredibly smooth and flows extremely well. You will find yourself fully immersed in this story and like you are a part of it from the beginning until the end.

Now onto Click Date Repeat Again...I absolutely LOVED this book! K.J.'s writing is so smooth and flawless once again. She writes such believable characters that you'd swear you actually know them and that you're friends with them. I adore Jess and Sawyer and even Chloe and Daran and of course we all know a Shelly in real life. I love when previous characters make an appearance in a future book but aren't necessarily a sequel.

I also really love when an author can write a romance book without the use of explicit or graphic sex. Personally I can do without all of that and just skim it, so the fact that K.J. doesn't use it at all makes for a much better book and story in my opinion.

I can't wait to read more from K.J. as her ability to tell a story is so fantastic and her writing is so smooth that it's just a great experience when I pick up one of her books.

This duo really are a tale of two halves, and to be honest neither of them is particularly great. I have reviewed them seperately but a brief summation follows:

Click Date Repeat - 3 Stars
By far the better of the two books. It gets the balance between characters mostly right and each one feels like they are a genuine person - so both good and bad personality traits. Even the disastrous dates have a little bit of believability about the characters; sadly I think this is coincidental and they are supposed to be out and out appalling.
The main character, Chloe, is a good mixture of appealing and horrendous but not in a way that made me want to befriend her or even really root for her.
Good look at the early days of online dating and I think the nostalgia factor worked in its favour.

Click Date Repeat Again - 1 Star
Completely unlikeable main character. This makes it very difficult to engage with the book as you find yourself completely blase about whether or not she gets her life together, let alone her love life. The humour of the first book is completely missing in this one and it comes across as quite unpleasant in places.

Overall I would struggle to recommend these books to anyone and, on reflection, I am now wondering if the first book deserved those 3 stars. I will leave it as is as I fear my judgement of it has been coloured by how much I disliked the second in the series.

Click Date Repeat - Follow Chloe Thompson along as she tries to navigate her way through on-line dating! A funny light read that will have you laughing so hard your sides will hurt! This is a great story with a flashback to on-line dating. I have never personally tried on-line dating, but after reading this book, I think Chloe would be me. I laughed at the characters and the profiles that they had created for themselves. For me, it was a great read with a light-hearted take on the adventures of on-line dating, including the ups and downs that go along with it. Thinking I need to find an “Angel Lady" to toss me in the right direction (couldn’t hurt and might help).

Click Date Repeat Again - After reading this book, I just might have to try on-line dating for myself! I love Jess and the journey that she takes via her online dating subscription. From setting parameters, to the profile names, Chloe’s (best friend) antics, the dates (some good, some bad), to her willingness to try new things – Jess will have you laughing your butt off! I also like when authors give you a peak with the character from the previous book, so I was happy to hear what is going on with Chloe and Daran. One click this book today, you will be glad you did….I’d bet a dollar on that!

I red both books all the way through, but found it disturbing how much the characters depend on alcohol to have a "good time." Granted, I don't drink at all, so my view is somewhat skewed, but still...

It's interesting how quickly technology makes a storyline get "old." References to characters not having their own computers, the speed (or lack thereof) for computer boot-up process, un-smart cell phones, etc.

Did like the book. Quite funny in places. Main characters, Chloe's, personality is a little bit on and off sometimes. Trying to make the nice girl to date then
Becomes bitchy quite a lot. Would read the next one in this series
