This book was very good. This book was a about the main character named Bernie and his friends they needed to win the contest for best invented prize. To go to a school called Preppy Prep Prep
I think Punk’d and Skunked by R.L. Stine was okay and some reasons why I think it was okay was that I think the part where the judges say they can go to PPP, that could have been a little more realistic because the reason was that they just wanted to get rid of Bernie. Another thing I didn’t like was that in PPP weren’t introduced to that many characters, what I would have liked is if their was like a PPP style of April May, a PPP style of Sherman Oaks, and a PPP style of Sweety. One thing I was confused about if Corky had the ball blow up or had the mallet blew up. Some things I liked about it was that it at least showed some new characters and showed a whole new environment that the rotten school house went to. Another thing I liked was that for once Bernie won technically he just didn’t get to keep the money. I recommend this book to 4th graders and people who love stuff that is silly.

Back on a little R.L. Stine kick and rereading a bunch of books from his series, currently the Rotten School Series. Obviously these aren’t my typical level of reading, but I am rereading these in between reads and for nostalgia. They are typical Stine humor and they have cool illustrations throughout. They’re a fun read and part of a rad series!
Bernie Bridges and his Rotten School friends are back. After somehow managing to be sent to a competition of inventions between other boarding schools, Bernie and his friends must create a winning invention to get their hands on the grand prize of $5000. The only issue is is that Bernie and his friends don’t have an invention and they are dealing with a whole new group of rich and preppy kids who smile but are set out to make the Rotten School boys fail and embarrass themselves. Follow along as Bernie schemes up new ways to make an invention and get his hands on the prize money.
Gross out stuff in this very ordinary tale - designed for young lads one assumes - but the more discerning will turn their noses upon as this is a bit on the stinky side.
Overall a cute book for upper elementary. Schoolers. There are lots of great play on words that kids can appreciate. The plot is simple, that Bernie wants to win the great invention contest so he can have a week at the rich kids prep school, and the grand prize of cash. He and his dorm mates at the rotten school are funny characters. This is a fun book, but there is little character development and a simple plot so this would be a good read to help develop fluency and speed. 2-5th grade.
The 11th entry in the series changes the format slightly. Here there are almost two different stories in one book. The first half involves Bernie trying to come up with the perfect invention to win the invention contest. The second half has Bernie and his pals visiting the prep school for a week, where they have to come up with a new invention. Overall, Rotten School: Punk'd and Skunked is an entertaining read with several laugh out loud moments.
I liked this book because the book was very funny.I would reccomend this book to anyone who likes funny rotten school books. I like the part when Corky Pigge puts an explosive blue croquet ball in front of Bernie and he hits it and it blows up his clothes, except for his underwear.
Bernie is tryin to make a cool invention that will suprise the juges and make him rich. With this big win he will be able to go to the Prepy Pre School were every one is rich snotty and smart.
