Meditation is a wonderful way to bring more peace and tranquillity into your life. This little book, bursting with practical advice, useful meditations and affirming thoughts, helps you to take a moment and feel like yourself again.
Short and concise, easy to read (except maybe the history is a little dry to get through). The colors and calm way of writing makes you feel already in a meditative state. Would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to begin meditation.
Started off enjoying this, read in short bursts and before bed. But then it kept going on, and on, and on with repetitive mantras and health benefits that by the time I had actually finished reading, I was too exhausted to think about meditation; never mind practicing it. There were a good 80 unnecessary pages in this, which would only be relevant for someone doing an in-depth research project. And a further 20 quotes and filler pages. The mandala illustrations and colour palettes throughout were beautiful to look at though. 2.5/5
A lovely, digestible, quick guide into meditation. The pages are beautiful and the content itself is very insightful, offering brief exploration into different cultures and how they practise meditation. I also love that it's pocket-sized. All in all, it makes for a fun read and a useful introduction to meditation.
A concise overview of different approaches to meditation. Even though there isn't much depth to any of the explanations, the author does a good job of covering the basics and giving brief examples. The artwork and quotations throughout make the book an enlightening and pleasant read.
Just a bunch of repetitive, basic information about meditation. The title implied there would be a number of actual "meditations" here, but that wasn't really the case.
