Einsamer Adler gegen einsamen Wolf
Der Apachenkrieg ist in vollem Gange, doch kaum einer weiß, dass diese ganze Auseinandersetzung auf einer Lüge beruht - nur Blueberry versucht, dies zu bereinigen. Auf dem Weg dabei kann er noch einen Konvoi Waffen und Munition zu einem etwas isolierten Außenposten begleiten; doch der einsame Wolf Blueberry wird von einem Gegner verfolgt, der alles daran setzt, diesen Konvoi abzufangen.

In diesem 3. Band löst sich die Geschichte vom reinen Nacherzählen von historischen Begebenheiten, und just da wird auch die Atmosphäre dichter. Die ersten Bände litten stark unter Klischees, und nun, auch wenn es immer noch den einen oder anderen Ausrutscher diesbezüglich gibt, beginnt sich der Charakter Blueberrys zu entwickeln.

Eine spannende Western-Geschichte, die aus der Feder Karl Mays stammen könnte, mit tollen Zeichnungen. Ich für meinen Teil hätte auf Band 1 und 2 komplett verzichten können, und stattdessen direkt hier einsteigen - das würde ich, auch weil kaum etwas vorausgesetzt wird, Lesern empfehlen, die sich nicht sicher sind, ob sie soviel Wildwestromantik ertragen können.

Filled with stunning Southern US vistas and exciting action scenes, Blueberry’s third adventure is pure eye candy. The cat and mouse narrative is always entertaining as the Americans attempt to deliver munitions from camp to camp while being chased by the Apache. The overarching plot is also enticing and ensures the reader will want to come back for volume 4.

Dopo una pausa involontaria da Blueberry perché la mia edicola si era persa il terzo numero, eccomi qua, di nuovo tra i deserti dell'Arizona.

Non so perché, ma Blueberry mi riporta a un mondo di bambina, a guardare i film western con il nonno. Ed è forse la nostalgia che mi porta a leggere questa serie.

Watch out for Lone Eagle, that tricksy one-eyed villain! Could anything be more obvious? Lol. Some stunning panels in this one, with the fires, caravans and all.

No onhan tämä täydellisyyttä vaikkakin jo alusta asti itsestään selviä tapahtumia suorittava länkkäri. Mutta mukana on myös monia kivoja koukkuja jotka pitävät mielenkiinnon lukiessa ja yllä ja Giraud pistää sarjaan hyviä yksityiskohtia (kuten vain ohimennen kantapäällään laatikon kiinni vasaroivan sotilaan).

Geronimooooo! Eli en kyllä keksi miksen lukenut tätä aikoinaan. Ehkä tämän ensi suomennos sattui aikaan jolloin villi länsi ja westernit eivät iskeneet. Mutta onhan tässä asia meininki. Thai jotain.

This is the third album (Aigle Solitaire) of Jean-Michel Charlier and Jean Giraud's brilliant Western series and continues where the previous album left off. The conflict between the US Army and the Apaches escalates, while Blueberry does his utmost to stop an all-out catastrophe. Meanwhile, the Apache chief Lone Eagle is working against him every step of the way.

Halfway through the first arc, the series is thoroughly in place and is utterly enjoyable, through and through, to read.

Toujours sur fond de guerre avec les Apaches et les Navajos, Blueberry escorte un convoi d'armes pour Fort Navajo. Mais en chemin, il devra déjouer les machinations du chef de guerre Aigle solitaire.
