First of all, Thank you Mikey!!
This book was exactly what I needed this weekend.
Chapter One hooked me straight away. I love Seth and Zee! Completely in love and can't get enough of each other. The sex is super hot and there is plenty of it.
Seth is definitely a guy we all want to know. So caring, determined and sexy!
I'll be recommending Detecting Lust to everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing what Mikey Lee brings us next. (:
Oh and 'goofy bumps' is literally one of the cutest things I've ever read.

Before I start my review, I would like to thank Ms. Pam Nelson for this book. You didn't have to do it but I'm so grateful that you did.
Ok so this book was freaking fantastic! Everything about it was bloody genius! I'm not sure how the author came up with this stuff but he's AMAZING!!
Seth and Zee were what married couples should look like and be about. They were still in love, still hot for each other, supportive, considerate, passionate, etc. They were absolutely beautiful together.
Told mainly from Seth's POV, he's a detective for the SVU and he's brilliant at his job. One of his cases is the basis for the plot. Despite the somber, heavy subject matter, this story came off as a light read. Go figure. While at work, Seth showed us that he was actually all around, not just with his wife. He was compassionate, dedicated and determined.
I took a star away for 2 reasons:
1. Ashley was obviously infatuated with Seth (and he knew it), but there wasn't a time where I felt that she was put in her place. He didn't show or tell her about being married and I felt this unresolved issue could be a problem. He didn't even mention it to Zee in passing :(
2. I felt like the ending wasn't really The End. I wanted more and I hope to get it ;)
This author is new to me but he's definitely one to watch. I can't wait to read more of his books because he is MEGA talented.

I'm DETECTING lots of future page flippers for Mikey Lee!!!
WATCH OUT Dick Tracy and Detective James Gordon, there is a new, Modern Day Detective in the city and his name is Seth Lane! He's the man other men want to be and the man women want in their beds. There's only one woman though in Seth's life and that is his sexy/confident wife, Zee.
The storyline is written with a Male POV, which I personally love, because you get the raw, lusting thoughts of the inner male mind minus all the hormonal mushiness. Detective Seth Lane is driven to catching a scumbag who has committed rape. While he goes through the case and gets closer and closer to possibly catching his suspect......he also gets closer and closer to his woman, Zee, in the sheets, out of the sheets, far away from the sheets; you detect where I'm going. (There are shower scenes, behind her scenes, and of course what every male loves...blow job scenes.) Hell, I think I learned a thing or two myself to try on the hubby and DETECT whether he appreciates them as much as our Detective Seth Lane did!
All sexual kidding aside; the story is truly a love story between Seth and his "Swiss-Army-Wife", Zee (you'll have to read to understand the meaning).
I adored Mikey's acknowledgement in the beginning of a letter from Ronald Reagan to his wife, Nancy.
P.S. As I read I listen to music.... a song I would put on a Playlist for this Book would be Charles Kelley's "The Only One Who Gets Me". It truly reminded me of Seth and Zee!

Did you ever read a story that reached out and grabbed you by the throat in the first chapter? Did you ever read a story that made you afraid to turn the page in the last chapter because you didn't want it to end?
"Detecting Lust" did both of those things for me and I already want more.
Hot sex, suspense, real-life emotions and a couple with an inspiring love and respect for one another, "Detecting Lust" has it all.
You will swoon, sigh, keep an eye out and fan yourself in this debut novel.

5 Lusty Stars
Soooo I try and make notes of things I want to talk about in my review… this is my note.
“What a breath of fresh air.” - I have NEVER written those words about a book. I have read A LOT of books.
I don’t know if it was the fact that Seth is married and actually LOVES his wife. I know right! No one writes that in romance or the fact that he is married and there is NO cheating going on. Hallelujah!!! He actually LOVES his wife.. I know I said that already but it needed to be said again.
So not only is Seth like my newest book boyfriend but I want to be friend with his wife Zee!! I can be an Ashley only not so flirty and just admire him from a far. *bats eyes* Please lol. To her credit she doesn’t know his is married… Or at least I don’t think she knows.
I have to say even though it ended and I actually chanted “No, No that can’t be it.” This is going to be a book I re read and that’s saying something because I am an audiobook nut job. Eye reading takes me FOREVER. But this book, soo worth it!
Ok I feel like I didn’t even talk about the book just my thought and feelings… Well that’s what the blurb is for right ;) Read this book you won’t regret it.

This is Mikey Lee's debut novel!
So let's talk about what this book is or is not. This book really isn't romance, it's not really mystery or thriller. It's a detective novel with some erotica mixed in. Now that's a new concept right?
Seth our main character is a happily married detective. He's good at what he does and what he does is solve crimes. I really found the whole detective aspect and the story that it revolved around really interesting and really well told.
Seth's case revolves around a woman who has been raped and him trying to find the bad guy. For those suddenly concerned when I mention the word rape, there are no triggers...the author did a great job steering clear of that. As much as I am an erotica lover I think what I liked best about this book was the whole detective/solving the crime aspect of the book. You can tell that the author either has some background in the area or has done his research. That being said he managed to make detective work not boring. Granted things are sped up (as compared to real life) in this story to keep it interesting and makes it a generally quicker read.
For those that need the erotica aspect of the book there is plenty in the book. I think you will really like Seth and Zee's relationship and the sexy scenes they share.
Things that made this 4 stars vs 5 stars for me: Mostly this book is in Seth's POV. Occasionally the female POV slipped in at times that I wasn't expecting it. I understand why the author slipped it in but it was something that would throw me a bit as I was reading. Also certain words were a bit overused for me and some descriptions a bit overdone for my liking. But all in all this was a really enjoyable story.
Since this is Sin #1 I think it's safe to say that we will be hearing more from Mikey Lee and there will be more Detecting in our future. I look forward to seeing what he puts out next and to see his growth as a writer.
Even though there will be more Detecting books coming this is a standalone.

Well before you sit yourself down to devour this story, you grab a bottle of wine, a change of panties and find your husband/boyfriend or who ever really!!!! This read was awesome, loved everything about it, A fast paced, quick and easy read, perfect for a couple of hours of spare time. Seth is our Detective and is married to Zee, holy hotness does Mr Lee know how to write a sex scene, scorching hot, felt even more so because they were happily married. So we have our hot Detective solving a case, and then some. I can't wait for more of these stories, I enjoyed it a lot. (wink,wink) Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by Carolyn.

An enthusiastic debut from Mikey Lee!
Detecting Lust, just like the title suggests, is an erotic detective novel. I don’t know if I’ve ever read an erotic detective novel before. For those expecting a romance novel, it’s not. It’s not the kind of book that explores a relationship between two people. It’s an investigation of a crime. With super freaking hot sex scenes.
Seth Lane, a hottie with six pack abs, loves his wife, yoga instructor Zee. He gets assigned to investigate a rape case, and the book is about how he figures out whodunit.
So there’s the rub. How do I review this? I don’t want to give anything away, because the whole point is to figure out who did it!
It starts out hot and sexy and keeps going that way, getting more involved in the investigation and the clues along the way. Written with clear knowledge of police procedures—and the ways they sometimes get broken—it’s a great read!

I was so excited to read Mikey Lee's debut novel!
This book started off with a bang, literally, and just kept on going after that. The book had quick pace which I appreciated as a reader. I will admit I haven't ready a detective/mystery story in a long time so it was a nice chance of pace from usual fare.
I loved that Seth and Zee were already in an established relationship, it was quite refreshing, and their relationship was so passionate and hot! I loved that they had a healthy relationship and I especially loved how they couldn't keep their hands off each other.
The story did have multiple POVs which was nice but at times confusing. I do agree that it was necessary for the story and for the reader to know everything they needed to.
I will be upfront and say the story deals with rape, as a survivor myself I was immediately nervous but I can report the story was trigger free, at least for me. It was handled sensitively and accurately so I feel that Mr. Lee definitely either has experience with detective work or did his research.
Over all it was an excellent debut. There were some repetitive parts, lots of the same types of phrases being used again and again but not enough that I felt like I wasn't enjoying the story.
I definitely will be reading more from Mr. Lee and would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a hot mystery story.

I really enjoyed this story!
To be honest it was nothing like I expected it to be, and that's definitely not a bad thing. Mikey Lee has done a wonderful job with his debut story.
This is the story of Seth Lane, a police detective who has just been assigned a rape/sexual assault case that he needs to solve as soon as possible. With the help of a rookie detective, Seth and Ashley try to put the case together piece by piece.
A unique aspect to this book is that, unlike most of the other romance books I've read, our hunky leading man is married. And when Seth struggles with his case, or simply needs a way to relieve stress, his wife Zee is never too far away to lend a helping hand (or whatever other body part may be required). And that's where the story really heats up...
This was a really great detective story with a perfect amount of naughtiness. It keeps you intrigued to the very end and while there's no cliffhanger you can tell there is still so much story left to tell. Detecting Lust is the first book in the Lust series and I'm definitely curious as to what happens next with this interesting cast of characters...
I definitely recommend picking up this book.

Detecting Lust reminds me of a naughty detective television series found on a premium station. Definitely a premium station so that I can get a full view of the detective in all his glory. It's a short story about a smart, sexy detective who solves cases quickly in order to bring closure to the victim.
Seth Lane knows how to close a case fast however his newest case brings unexpected challenges. He meets the challenges head on and with the steamy assistance he receives from his wife, Seth may find the break he needs to solve the case.
I enjoyed the short novel, it was a change of pace from most erotic novels. Seth and Zee are happily married, they support and enjoy each other. Seth makes the world safer and sexier. It's the right combination of steamy and intriguing. I can't wait for further books in the series. 4 Stars!

Is it a Thriller, a romance or an erotica novel? This debut has it all. The right mixture of the ingredients stirred in one story. Seth Lane is a Detective and married to Zee the love of his life. His job is to catch the sexual predator who destroyed a young woman's life.
The way to solve the case reads like one of the episodes of Law and order SVU.
There is not an easy way to describe the story and not post spoilers. I loved the suspense, the hot scenes and the male POV.
This is definitely a must read.

Contrary to many murder-mystery with the romance and erotic touch, Detecting Lust includes a happily married couple, SVU Detective Seth Lane and his wife Zee who is willing to do just about anything to make him happy and support him during his career and even moved so when he finds himself needing help at solving the case of a rape victim. To make it clear enough for all readers that are survivors of such crimes, Mikey Lee has taken such a delicate subject and treated it with respect to such a degree that there didn't feel or have any major triggers that could be traumatic for them - and I say this as having gone through the same ordeal and having had to deal with the after effects that lasted years. Between the chemistry, the storyline, and the mystery behind a crime that seems to get better and stronger as I kept reading, Mikey Lee has managed to really grab my full attention, even making me fall in love with detective genre novels when I thought never to find the perfect combination between romance, suspense, erotica and the sensuality - this was one book I loved!

Detecting Lust grabbed me right from the beginning. A debut novel for Mikey Lee, I have to say he brings the heat and he brings it strong. In this story we get a very driven SVU detective on a mission to solve a crime as fast as he can so that the victim gets her justice.
Seth Lane is the best SVU Detective in his precinct and a loving husband, whose wife has a very fun flirty sexual appetite and is a perfect match for him in that department. This is the first book from this author and it was really good. I'm always fascinated to read romance/erotica that is written by a man. My only complaint would be that some parts were a little too descriptive. The storyline was original and I loved the characters. I especially loved that Seth and Zee were already very happily married. Although if they are featured in future books I think Seth should really set Ashley straight or it's gonna become a problem. Seth Lane is a detective with SVU and he's good at his job. He feels for the victims but he loves solving the case and locking up the bad guys. At home he has a beautiful loving wife named Zee who is always there for him and supports his hard work ethic. His new case is a young woman who attends law school at one of the local colleges and she was attacked in the basement laundry room of her apartment. Seth promises her he will find the scumbag that assaulted her.

Oh, this certainly was different! I actually enjoyed myself very much; it reminded me of a cop show on TV but then with a naughty twist!
I haven't read a lot of books written by a man, certainly not erotica but wow. This is a great debut. What I love the most is that it's written from a third person POV, which makes books so much easier to read for me, and also that the book has the main character in a committed relationship from the start.
Mikey Lee rocks. He's certainly one to look out for.
I would have given this four stars, but the editor of the book missed a few "your/you're" "then/than" problems that threw me off. In all honesty, if you don't know the difference as a writer then... ohh.. yeah, so one less star.

This book is Mikey Lee's debut book. It is a story about Seth Lane on a mission to solve a sexual assault crime. I was so intrigued by the crime solving aspect of the storyline. I was sucked in trying to figure out who did it. It held my attention and kept me reading! Seth and his wife Zee have a sexy hot relationship, but some words and situations were a bit repetitive. But this is Mikey's first book and I've got to say I'm really hoping his new partner Ashley gets a book because I want to know what happens to her!

Raw, gritty, and sexy, this book is for a reader who loves erotic suspense. The story revolves around an SVU detective, his sexy wife, and his innate ability to solve sexual assault cases. This fast-paced read is a great start for new author, Mikey Lee. I'm looking forward to following the Sin series.

What a fantastic start for a new and upcoming author.
Detecting Lust had a little bit of everything, the story line keeps you engaged as the passion and suspense captivates you into wanting more.. My only complaint.... Having to wait til the next book.

When you think romance novel, you usually will come up with some type of boy meets girl story. Very rarely do you come across a story where the couple is already established, happy, and still head over heels, but don't be shy because this couple is very sexual and not bland in any way.
Detecting Lust had me hook within the first few lines, knowing right away that this was going to be something special. Detective Seth Lane is a happily married man to his wife Zee and isn't afraid to show her or anyone else. However, the story isn't fully centered around this couple. Mikey Lee gives us an awesome start to finish SVU style plot, with Detective Lane leading the way with his unique style of figuring things out.
I was captivated throughout this book and didn't want to put it down. The story was such a wonderful change of pace and refreshing. Usually, there is tension between the characters and that is where all the action derives from, but Seth and Zee are still as taken with each other as they were from day one. Their story is more of a what happens day to day and how they keep the flame going, versus the whole flame started and it's burning hot scenarios that is usually portrayed. There is no gimmicky style to their love, you can definitely tell that it is real and that there is true devotion towards each other. As a military spouse, I'm used to my husband having to cancel or work late nights frequently, so I definitely identified with Zee and know that sticking by his side isn't always the easiest but because there is so much love, trust and devotion present it is something that we don't think twice about.
This was an awesome and captivating journey watching Seth discover his unsub and how he brought him to justice. Seeing Seth with Zee and how much he values her, it made my heart full and gave the journey that extra something special to hold onto. I can't wait to see what else Mikey Lee has up his sleeve for Seth and his cases, but also how Zee will help keep Seth going when he feels he stuck in place.

Mikey Lee's Book "Detecting Lust" is a unique read! The story is well written, hard to tell it is his first book. He has a natural talent, and style all his own. This Detective erotica, is more then just erotic! The love story between Zee and Seth (the main character) is beautiful and moving. The book gives of a very masculine feel with the way Seth talks and handles things, it is apparent it was written by a man. The book is also a great read for women as well. Most men can not write romance well. However, Mikey Lee did! There is depth to the characters, the plot is unique and original. As soon as I was done reading it, I wanted to pick it up and re-read it. He gives us enough detail and back story to feel fulfilled and crave more! I have to add, not a lot of authors attempt to write food scenes. It is a very difficult task and if you get it wrong, it is very wrong! Yet, Mikey Lee even pulled that off beautifully. The way Seth enjoyed his dinner in one scene made me crave the same meal. And I am a picky eater. Way to go Mikey!!! I can not wait to read your next book!

So this book started out with a bang......like literally. Let me just tell you any book that gets to the hot, steamy, dirty, sexy stuff that fast is gonna be a GREAT book! I got so into this book for some many reason...one was Seth was HOT AF.....two was he was a Detective....three he loved his wife.....four he was a dirty talker who loved to please his wife. Zee, Seth's wife also loved to please her man and was always ready to give a blowie in order to make her man feel better...! I mean what man would not love that shizzzzz. Also, there is a great story in this book aside from the HOT HOT HOT sex. I am just gonna say that I did need a cool off period after reading one scene that took place in a basement (cant say anymore with out spoilers) but trust me your gonna want to read it.
Mikey Lee was a new author for me and I am very glad I decided to read this book. I am looking forward to the next book in this series and seeing what other fun positions Seth and Zee find themselves in. I also am going to make it my mission to meet the awesome Mikey Lee.....one day Sir....one day :)

I thought this was a great debut book, it was a quick, easy read. It has a good storyline; Detective Seth Lane is investigating a sexual assault case, normally I stay away from books that involve rape but Mikey Lee handles it with sensitivity and it didn't feel like it was being used for entertainment or controversy (he got an extra star for that alone). I liked the relationship between Seth and his wife, Zee. It was different to a lot of books, in that they are a happily married couple, they help and support each other (and have some incredible sex too) but it's really background noise to the focus of the story, which is the investigation and I loved that.
I am looking forward to reading more from Mikey Lee, so I hope he is sat at a computer right now and typing away at book 2.

Well this one started off with Seth and Zee having a fantastic morning. * wink wink* Nothing like getting your blood pumping at the ass crack of dawn, in the shower, before your first cuppa joe. Hot sexy times, party of two please!
This was a pretty good debut novel for Mr. Lee, I really liked the suspense in it. Seth and Zee are a great married couple, I love how they love each other. The one thing that threw me off a wee bit was the switching of POV in the middle of some paragraphs. I had to back my bus up a couple of times and figure out who was speaking. Other than that, I look forward to reading more in the series!

Loved it! A great storyline with descriptive writing, Mikey Lee had me at page one. Mystery, compassion, and lots of sexy-time makes Detecting Lust a fantastic read! Will Seth continue to be the best at his job? Will his coworkers help with his caseload or be a hindrance? Will Zee still love Seth when his job keeps him away from home! No epilogue but that's okay; this book has a happy ever now that actually made me smile, this was a great read!

This book grabbed my attention from the awesome first chapter and held it all the way through.
I love how Seth and Zee are married and stay married throughout the whole book. No Cheating just pure hot sex!

I was recently introduced to the works of Mikey Lee by a fellow reader. I was unsure going in about how I would feel as he is my first male Indie author read. I was quite surprised. I thought I might have issue with a detective novel and the possibility of certain scenes that may make me squeamish. Actually he not only wrote a novel with steam but included loyalty between a husband and wife and compassion for a crime victim. Whether he would like to admit or not, Mikey Lee showed a softer side in his novel as well as the story of an ace SVU detective. Quite a different approach to a story line than what I am used to, but still quite a unique and engaging story. He includes the first several chapters of his next novel in the series and I do plan to read on! A great combination of strength and testosterone along with women who can hold there own. Thank you for tempting me into trying something new, Mikey Lee.
