How do flowers grow? Where do seeds come from? Why do leaves fall? Little children can find out the answers to these questions and more in this beautifully illustrated lift-the-flap book. Each page asks a different question, such as “Why do plants have flowers?” The colourful illustrations, large and simple text and chunky flaps reveal the answers. Children can discover a bee’s favourite flower, see inside a spiky conker shell and see how trees lose their leaves in winter. A brilliant introduction to nature and science for curious young minds.

Laadukas lasten tietokirja perheen pienimmille tutkijoille! Juuri täydellinen Miksi, miten, kuinka, mitä -kysymysten kanssa painiville tiedonhaluisille vesseleille.
Kirjassa on todella laadukas kuvitus, hauskoja pikkufaktoja kasvien maailmasta ja erilaisia tunnustelupintoja sekä luukkuja. Tätä kirjaa lukiessa jopa aikuinen saattaa oppia joitain uutta ja ihmeellistä kasvien maailmasta.
Töissä lapsiryhmän jäsenet olivat aivan haltioissaan erilaisista pienistä tiedonmurusista kirjassa.
This book is hard to fault. As a parent, one needs reminders not only of the answers to questions, but also of the questions that need to be anticipated. This book does a fabulous job with that. Each turn of the page reveals a new question to reflect on, which then leads to plenty of little prompts to bring about further investigations.
My little one is still too young to realise this book’s full potential, but she has already been kept occupied for a considerable length of time with the abundant flaps and tabs and finger trails and, of course, the bold, striking illustrations (particularly of the bees with their cute little proboscises). Going by how captivated I myself have been by this book, I can imagine her spending afternoons exploring every inch of it.
Outstanding! It is hard to find better non-fiction for children than Usborne books. Yes this is a lift a flap book, but it is NOT at all babyish. There is a wealth of information in books from this series and this is no exception.
This is a super great book that addresses many common questions children may have about flowers. It is also very visually stimulating and interactive with the use of flaps. Likewise it encourages children to be inquisitive and think more deeply before they reveal the answer.
