Runes for Transformation: Using Ancient Symbols to Change Your Life

Rate this book
Runes have long been used as vital tools for transformation. The Norse employed them as tools for communication, and the Vikings would use them as wisdom before embarking on a journey or entering battle. Runic scholar Kaedrich Olsen reclaims the transformative power of the runes for readers today as a key to unlocking our potential for personal growth and our life's vision. Runes for Transformation is unlike any other rune book on the market, with Olsen's unique techniques and applications for this ancient alphabet including affirmations, NLP, visualizations, and meditation, as well as the historical background essential to embarking on this path. A highly respected teacher and transpersonal path worker, Kaedrich Olsen posits that the time for this "deeper working" of the runes has come and this will aid readers in both personal and collective evolution. Runes for Transformation is a rich resource and excellent guide for readers to take the steps to change their lives with a boldly modern approach to the ancient runes and for "change that really matters."

Poor writing. Mish mash of pop psychology and New Age prattle along with some very interesting, challenging, and useful exercises. Well worth a read if you are experienced enough to detect and skip the prattle.

This book is more on an index type book rather then a flowing type book and a very good index type book at that.

simple rune book

Many error in the mystical plane description and principles of reality but much good lore. An ok read for a slow day.

This book is definitely more than your standard book on runes. Though Kaedrich definitely gives enough information for anyone who is just starting their exploration of runes, his approach gives the reader the tools to take their rune study to a much deeper level than many other books. Throughout the book, steps for not only learning the runes, but applying their use to your life are explained in detail. You are given exercises that will enable you to explore many aspects of each rune as well as different ways you can use them outside of divination.

While some of the information or techniques discussed in this book are ones I was previously familiar with, I feel like Kaedrich was able to allow me to see them from a different perspective, and I felt like I had a much more thorough understanding of how to vocalize runes as well as how to create and use bindrunes. I am greatly looking forward to working through the exercises in this book and furthering my personal connection with the runes.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone wishing to work with the runes, either as a divination system or in magical practice.

This book was pretty amazing. It included some very practical psychological information about magic. It's probably not a good first rune book for a beginner interested only in divination, as it is very in-depth and philosophical. However, I came away with a deeper understanding of the runes. This is probably my personal favourite of all the rune books I've ever read, even if it isn't a standalone "everything you need to know" handbook. It's more of a spiritual and magical workbook. I'd recommend this to any intellectual who wants to be inspired.

I had been looking for a symbol I have been seeing everywhere (inscribed on every rock I would pick up, in the sand, in the clouds, etc. etc.) for a few days, when I found this book. I randomly picked a page, and the bind rune was featured on the page. I still feel like there just isn't enough information, but just that incident alone turned me onto this book.

An invaluable resource for anyone interested in truly working with the energy of the Elder Futhark.
