Coveted Fae #1

How to Keep a Fae

Rate this book
I’m a feeder. My role is to give blood.

A transaction, nothing more.

We’re not supposed to have favorites nor nurture infatuations.

And we’re definitely, under no circumstances, supposed to fall in love.

But I did—twice.

A human alpha who steals my breath and calls me his queen.

An intense, dominant fae warrior who unbridles new desires.

I wonder if they feel the same way.

If they ever talk about me.

As it turns out, the two men are best friends and they both want to claim me.

What they haven’t realized is that they’re both pursuing the same fae… at least, not yet.

How to Keep a Fae had a lot of great elements but ultimately lacked real passion and chemistry for me between the MCs.

“You can’t hide from me now, little queen,” he says.

“Your king has found you.” His lips lower to my throat as he continues the rough strokes.

“Your king has found his queen.”

Smutty, short and fun but not my favorite of Lane’s stories.

L.V. Lane has done it again. I loved this book! It combined some of my absolute favorite things. Fae, omega, verse, fantasy, vampires, knotting, breeding and so much more! It was a wild ride, but I loved every second of it. You do not have to have read any of her other books to go into this one, but I have read a ton of them and that they are always so enjoyable!

This really is a different take on the whole omega verse/vampire thing and I loved it so much!

“Ours. Ours to breed and feed whenever and however we choose.”

Damn, I need a a cold shower. This is a SPICY read, with LV’s own brand of fantasy omegaverse, two all-in warrior mates, and a fae feeder. a lot of knots and slick and a bit vampiric, with aphrodisiac and healing biting.

This ultra fast burn and super spicy MFM romance can be read as a complete standalone.

Absolutely devoured

Reading rut, what reading rut. I had a bunch of new releases I wanted to read but like always l.v.lane pushed her way to the top. And what felt like a rut turned into a lost afternoon. I love the mix of romance and spice she blends into these stories. And the entire coveted series has stolen my heart and in my mind nothing can beat it. Cannot wait for more.

This was exactly the story I needed. Such great characters, plenty of spice but also an actual storyline - not just omega smut. I loved their relationship and the side characters kept the story interesting. Definitely recommend.

meh

I love LV Lanes books and I have read all of them. So I know what I am getting into. They are all heavy on the spice but they normally have an interesting plot as well. The plot on this one was very basic and the spice wasn’t done well enough to carry the book. So it was ok, at best

- FMC: Adaline
- MMC's: Jayga, August
- POVs Included: Multiple POVs (Adaline, Jayga, August)

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
SUMMARY: (SPOILER WARNING)

Adaline is an omega feeder fae at Sanctum. Her job is to feed (with blood and sex) the warriors who need healing after they are wounded in battle. Things are fairly normal for her, until the day she meets a warrior who brings her to her knees -- literally. And then a second one who she also falls for in short time. Coincidentally the two of them are also best friends.

Jayga and August are good friends until they both find out they are falling for the same omega. An omega who is off limits for both of them. But once they finally start to share, they form a plan to get around the rules for not mating with feeders.

-----------------------------------
-----------------------------------
REVIEW:

This once takes place in Sanctum, and even though it was published after Rapture, it takes place before it. I am not a huge fan of Sanctum and the whole dynamics there. A lot of it seems like slavery to me and so it's not my favorite corner of the Coveted Prey universe.

Still, this was good. I loved Adeline and her positivity and openness for Jayga and August. She's a sweet omega and I just really liked her.

Jayga and August are a bit opposite, but I liked them. I like how their personalities complement each other. August is a bit cold at times, but he has his warm moments too. I loved how wild Jayga is. His dirty talk was so hot and on point.

There isn't much of a story other than all of them sorting out how to be together. We get to know some background about each of their families and struggles they've faced. But there isn't like an outside conflict. It was fine though and I think the pacing was good for just being focused on the romance.

Overall it was good. Definitely better than Rapture. I would've loved if it was MMF instead of MFM, but it was still steamy and good.

I found myself absolutely enthralled by this OV menage written by Ms. Lane.
This entry in her Coveted world is stellar IMO.
A superbly envisioned world with unique parameters and imaginings of vampiric and OV A/O designations entwined with characters that fascinated me wrapped in a mesmerizing and beautifully complex plot that kept me on delicious tenterhooks from beginning to end.
And all of this unfolds via superb writing that immediately grabs the reader's entire attention and pulls them deep into this world and the lives of the three main characters: August, Jayga and Adaline.
There is steam and scorch, angst, danger, intrigue, suspense and mystery as well as wonder, all in perfect balance. And let's not forget there is love and flawlessly subtle exposure into the characters beyond what they outwardly present to others. The reader is subtly but skillfully shown illuminating peeks into August, Jayga & Adaline allowing us to blend our emotions, investment and hopes with them.
I found thus to be a mesmerizing, beautiful, heart wrenching, heartwarming story I loved.
I think you will too.

Goodness gracious! I want to start with the beginning. The was something about the opening of this book. It sucked me in. The writing was beautiful, captivating. I haven't read one of her books that I didn't enjoy, but something about the start of this I just really loved. It was quick but spelled out the world as it affected and pertained to our fmc. The intimate relationship between main characters started faster than I think I was expecting but it totally made sense for the society we find this story taking place. I thoroughly enjoyed the buildup with the relationship between the MC's. It was beautiful to witness. There was deep feelings, intensity, and a sense of wondering how all would pan out. There was a good amount of tension in the waiting for our MC's to come back from missions and things, though I will say that I would have loved a bit more of the danger we get in other books in this series. All in all, I loved this book and look forward to reading it again as well as whatever L.V. comes up with next.

this book should come with a hydration warning
and let me tell you — I picked this up knowing exactly what I was walking into, and it still knocked me sideways

Picture this: forbidden love, a human alpha warrior, a fae alpha warrior, and a fae omega FMC who heals warriors with her bodily fluids. Yeah… all her bodily fluids 🩸🥛💦

By the 5% mark, there’s already a very spicy scene. And from there? Whew. Knots, slick, biting, breeding, mating — it’s like someone said, ‘Let’s make a fairy sandwich,’ and the author said, ‘Say less.’”

But here’s the thing — it’s not just spice. These two alpha warriors? Total cinnamon rolls. The FMC? Adorable. There’s family vibes, a bit of battle action, and practically zero angst. Just vibes, heat, and a heartwarming HEA.

So if you’ve been reading a bunch of slow burns and you’re ready for some instant gratification with a why-choose omegaverse fantasy? This is the one. Just… don’t blame me when you need a cold shower.

10/10 for fun & smut, thigh-clenching, fairy-sandwich-approved read. Go get it.

Basic, lustful and unfortunately lacking the soul to bring it all together.

Alpha/omega
MFM
Knotting/breeding
No sword crossing
Nesting/growling
DVP

Adaline is a feeder. She has sex with warriors in order to heal them with all of her bodily fluids. Marvin Gaye singing Sexual Healing, is stuck in my head.

Jayga is a human alpha warrior. August is a fae warrior. They fight side-by-side and occasionally compare notes about the feeders they bed.

Feeders and warriors are forbidden to mate. Yet life will find a way.

“It’s time to make a fairy sandwich.”

They all have sex with others before committing to each other, but it’s just sex without emotions so it wasn’t a blip on my radar. Really wish we had more of a backstory and character building for these three, rather than the copious amounts of un-arousing, nest drenching sex.

Not a bad story, but not this author’s best work either.

How to Keep a Fae is L.V. Lane's newest 'Through the Portal' Fae Romance.
It is part of the legendary 'Coveted Prey' world. <3
That means these books focus more on the Keystone that has been stolen by the Blighten. :)

This romance is a 'why choose' MFM Omegaverse with a female Fae Omega, and two male Alphas, one human and one Fae. :)
It's a light romantic read with practically 0 angst. Perfect if you like cinnamon roll Alphas and adorable female Omegas.
It's full of thigh-clenching sexiness, heartwarming family time and even has a little bit of battle action. :D

L. V. Lane takes readers on an energic romp through the lives of Adeline, Jayga, and August in the first book of this Covet Fae series. While readers are not new to her brand of smut, steam others might not want to read it at work. Adeline is a Fae breeder for the Santuary. Where Jayga and August are warriors for the war against the Blighten. Breeders are meant to be used as only sexual healers for the hurt warriors and not mates for them. Jayga and August fall deeply for the little Fae, and devise a plot to have Adeline as thrier own until August’s father takes him on a mission to the surface. Jayga must deal with Adeline’s heat by himself. Adeline deals with her feelings towards both alphas alone at frst, then tells both alphas.
Can the love between all three of them be a perfect mating pair? Can a menaje a trois mating truely happen?

Not just a feeder…

Being a feeder was the only thing Adaline knew. When she meets Jayga, a warrior, wounded coming to her for healing. Something was different. She felt a connection to him. She also meets August at a different time for feeding.

August and Jayga are warriors and closest thing to friends there is in Sanctum. They realize they are in love with the same girl.

Warriors and feeders are not allowed to mate but quiet rumors spread about accidents happening. August and Jayga decide to take matters into their own hands.

I like that this book had a goal in mind and the guys took it upon themselves to make sure Adaline would be theirs. It’s a quick read and it has nesting, knotting and heats that you want when it comes to the Omegaverse genre.

August is an imperial fae, Jayga is an Alpha human, and Adaline is an omega feeder.  When August and Jayga go to her for healing, this is when competition arises, and the heat turns up.  In the end, all they want to do is the one thing they can’t, mate her!

In closing, L.V. Lane knows how to write a RH Omegaverse story with heat, chemistry, drama and a storyline that will keep you entertained to the end.  I love her detail to each character and how they fit so well together.  Combined with so much hot chemistry and lot of dominant men, you will be staying up all night reading this book!  HEA guaranteed!

I loved that in this book we get a closer look at breeders and feeders and the lower classed warriors. It was great to see from their point of view. I also loved how the MC's were so loyal to each other even when they thought they couldn't be together. Adaline was such a giving Omega, but she wanted more even tho she tried to resign herself to her feeder life. August was an interesting character for sure. I loved how things changed for him. And Jayga was a great character too! He fell so hard and so fast for Adaline, plus he was quirky. I loved how these 3 came together and were able to change their fates!

✨Fairy sandwich ✨. Intrigue? You should be. Honestly how @authorlvlane wrote the sirty talk during the 🌶️🌶️🌶️ scenes. How do you have been plugged directly from my brain. Because I checked all my boxes. Thia is one of the many series in the coveted pray series. However, it can be read as a standalone. I’m currently reading my way through the whole series because I originally picked up in the middle. Im a sucker for would building and every book paints such a vivid picture of this wonderful and brutal world. Happy release day and thank you for allowing me to read this early #fairysandwhich #mfm #lvlaneromance #covetedfae #newrelease #bookrec #arcbook

DAMN!!! This was really freaking spicy!!

“Ours. Ours to breed and feed whenever and however we choose.”

I mean SPICY!!! This omegaverse story had everything. Fae, warriors, vampires, and it moved at a very fast pace, but didn’t leave out anything! It kept me on the edge of my seat, squirming like crazy and rubbing my thighs together to ease the delicious ache that these fierce Alphas were doing to me!

Another really well written omegaverse story that will capture your heart and melt your panties!!!

How To Keep A Fae is book one in the Coveted Fae series written by L.V. Lane.

💜 fae and humans
💜 fated mates
💜 war
💜 healing
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spice spice

Adaline is a feeder fae. She helps with healing the warriors when they come in with injuries from fighting in the war. What she doesn’t expect is to start to have feelings for two of the warriors. What will happen? She knows she shouldn’t have any feelings or get attached. Will they take them away? Will she be able to continue to see them? How will everything work out?

This was a fun start to a new series. There are different levels of fae and humans within this series. I was glad that there was some explanation at the beginning of the book. I think that there was a good amount of world and character building for the first book and I think more will come as the series is released. I’m excited to see where this series will take us.

Another great read from this universe LV has created!

Fast burn, light and spicy just how we like it 🥵🥵🥵

I love each of these characters so much, Jayga took some convincing to sharing but I love the was he and August were able to see that working together for Adaline was better then working against each other, although there were many funny moments in between! The way LV writes the banter and bonds of these characters always comes across as authentic I could read a whole book of them just sitting in the tavern together 😂😂

The books in this series are so unique and I love every single one!

I reaaly enjoy the multiple directions authors have taken the Omegaverse trope, and this one was unique. August is a fae, Jayga is a human Alpha, and Adaline is an omega breeder. Each of these characters has a different role to play in their society, and they each have a different social standing. Emotions don't belong in their world, but sometimes Fate has different plans.

If you're looking for a quick, steamy, emotional, low-angst, beautifully written OV then this is it. The world building and character development are incredible and it captivated me from beginning to end.

Wooooo! Hold on to your panties, smut-lovers! This one is HOT!
ABO, ménage a trois with feeder-fae-human action and soooooo much schmexy stuff - this book is filled to the brim (pun intended) with all the hot fun you can imagine. Adaline, Jayga and August find each other and will do anything to be together, never mind the rules. Super steamy and has you rooting for them all through the book. If you want a hawt read, this is definitely off the charts.

L.V. Lane never disappoints me with her books. The world and plot that she creates is captivating.
Adaline was a great FMC. I love that she owned her sexuality. She was also sweet and loving.
I loved Jayga and August equally. They were both so different, but just right for Adaline. The love was beautiful and the steam between them was hot!!🥵
I loved how the author wrapped up their story. I was happy with their ending or should I say beginning.

Another wonderful addition to the Coveted Prey/Fae series.
Adeline is a feeder, at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to importance. However, she catches the eye of two wildly different men, and both decide to fight for her.
This is a lovely shorter read with lits of steam and a wonderful relationship build. I loved everything about it.
L.V Lane is a go-to for fae romance and I would happily read anything from this author.

How To Keep a Fae is a sweet, spicy story related to the Coveted Prey series by LV Lane. I loved this book just like all her other CP. This story is a little more sweet than the others and MCs aren't in as much peril as usual. I found the FMC to be warm, sweet and kind. The MMCs were alpha, growly, and possessive, just what I love! Definite read!

This was such a sweet and spicy book! It’s fast burn and while there’s not that much plot the story is well written and still drawing you in. I really liked this book!
It’s a different kind of paranormal book with different ways of healing.
I loved how Jayga and August were different, but both were exactly what Adaline needed. Loved loved loved it!

Of course, this is a hot read, would you expect anything less of Ms. Lane?
No, I didn't think so and if you were going to argue with me then I would say READ THIS BOOK and tell me I'm wrong.
There is nothing better than getting lost in an Alpha Omega sandwich, especially if being together bring enrichment to their lives (and mine, if you know what I mean WINK WINK).

I really enjoy this universe, so was excited to read another book from it. And even knowing its a MFM, I was originally biting my nails when both MLs, Jayga and August, were going at each other over our FL, Adaline. But all is fair in love and war, and this trio just has to figure out where they all fit with one another. Definitely another great addition to this series and universe!

Spicy, mfm, multiple point of view, paranormal (vampires, fae, ov) romance. I love seing omegaverse with a different vibe and this fits the bill. Interesting worldbuilding and VERY spicy. This is a quick read with a happy ending. I can't wait to read more in this new series.
(I also have to mention how much I LOVE the cover art!🔥)
