Fangs of Anarchy-Forbidden Part One—Alpha Down

Irish McConnell would give his immortality for a taste of Claire Montgomery. But the Fangs of Anarchy leader can’t risk his biker club, his vampire clan, or his tenuous truce with werewolf Gannon Dodd, Claire’s pack alpha—and her intended mate. Nope. Vamps and weres don’t mix, and Irish has managed to keep that in mind for five long, lust-filled years.

But now Claire’s gone and done something really, really (really!) bad, guaranteeing her doom if she’s ever found out. Truce be damned, Irish won’t leave her unprotected, despite the fact this is one murder-filled bundle of trouble he doesn’t need.

And unfortunately for Irish, the trouble’s just beginning…

*Author Dear readers, this is part one of approximately a five-part serial. You know what that means? That’s right—cliffhangers (cue evil music). But wait! Nonetheless, I solemnly swear to keep the stories coming swiftly, so your heads don’t asp lode from waiting!

3.5 Stars! I'm hooked!

Nice start to this serial series. Love Irish and the vampire MC concept. Major chemistry between Claire and Irish, and some fun times too!

This does end on a cliffhanger, but in all fairness, the author is up front about it. She also tries to make light of it, and it worked for me.

Claire Montgomery has really done it now. Killing the Alpha - and her unwanted intended mate - of her were pack is going to get her into really hot water. The sexy librarian is facing death if she gets caught.

Irish McConnell is a vampire. A very sexy, biker vampire. He is the lust of Claire's life, and a stubborn accomplice to covering up the crime. He seems determined to protect her, even though he could face the same punishment.

He'd refused her advances once before, despite the mind and body attraction they had for each other. Claire's actions might bring them together but their crime might end up separating them from each other and get them killed.

"So you did this to avoid the mate? You couldn't have just run off? Gone shopping out of town forever? Skipped over to one of the other paranormal territories? Hidden away?"

"Oh no. Make no mistake Irish McConnell. I did this because Gannon's a deplorable pig. But now that you mention shopping, a new pair of shoes might be in order."

Fangs of Anarchy - Killing the Alpha (Part 1) is the beginning of a new serial by Dakota Cassidy. Cassidy has been quite prolific this year, having released the first of 3 contemporary romances(Plum Orchard Series) , the first of a new paranormal series (Wolf Mates), another Accidental title to be released later this year, and currently, this new series. With all of that work, one would expect there to be a decline in quality. Impressively, the opposite is true.

Fangs of Anarchy starts out with no foreplay. It grabs the reader by the hair and introduces both main characters immediately - in the middle of a bloody situation. In true Cassidy style, the dialogue is witty, and there is immediate heat between Claire and Irish.

The characters are not quite as deeply written as some of her other stories. However, allowances must be made for the length of the story and development as the serial unfolds. Despite this, they are both firmly established. Claire and Irish coming together seemed natural even though it occurs rather expediently.

For such a short installment, there is a great deal of condensed but necessary exposition. The world-building was efficient but detailed. I really liked that a few of the paranormal "norms" were tweaked.

Reader be warned: in the true nature of the serial, there is a cliffhanger, but luckily the wait won't be long - a few weeks at the most. It will hook the reader without leaving the feeling of being cheated.

I am very much looking forward to reading all of the installments!

This is a new serial by Dakota Cassidy. The first installment of Fangs of Anarchy is a very short read, and jam packed with pure awesomeness. In a world where the government rules over not just humans but the paranormal, otherworldly beings are segregated into their own communities away from the humans where they are free to govern over their packs as they see fit. All the while trying to survive on the little sustenance that the government provides.

The story takes place in a small town in Maine where a pack of werewolves and a clan of vampires have been exiled into living for the last decade. In order to survive, these two unlikely groups form a tentative truce and build a community together while remaining weary of one another. This truce has been on its hinges for a while now - ever since the werewolf pack got a new alpha - and it looks as if things are about to get worse between the weres and vamps.

Irish is in charge of the vampires, and helps run the community with the werewolf alpha, Gannon. Irish has fallen for Claire, the town librarian, and a werewolf. Claire, who has also fallen for Irish has been chosen to be the alpha's mate. Not only is it taboo for vampires and werewolves to be together, but for Irish and Claire it is also dangerous. If anyone were to find out of their feelings for one another, with Claire being the alpha's mate and all, it would mean the end of the truce, and the end of Irish's life.

If that weren't dangerous enough for the two, Claire has just murdered Gannon, and Irish has decided to help her hide what she has done.

Such a passionate story - and I don't just mean that in a sexual way, although the sex scene was pretty damn great. These two characters really love; they love each other, they love their community, and they are fierce about it. I really enjoyed that. They do their best to think of others before themselves and their personal desires, even though it's pretty damn hard for them. A modern day paranormal twist to Romeo and Juliet; 'cept these two are more mature and less selfish than Shakespeare's 13 year old couple.

Loved it. Wonderful. Nothing bad to say about it whatsoever! Highly recommend!

Warning: This story ends in a heck of a cliffhanger. As Dakota wrote in her book, Cue evil soap opera music.

I have read and enjoyed many books by this author but this was straight smut. Even the narrator (who I usually enjoy) was grating on my nerves making everyone sound annoyed/stuck up. Not worth finishing. Extremely disappointed. (And, yes, I realize she was writing under a different name but that only works if her actual name is not mentioned.)

The author’s voice is mind numbing and juvenile. Every character has the same personality in dialogue. Same lines used, banters and snarky remarks. All of which were moronic, immature and not funny in the least.

As for the storyline, it was sloppy. Good thing it was only 50 pages and free.

Would have liked the ending between Claire & Irish flushed out more. Just all of sudden ended. Super sexy relationship though.

First off let me tell you this BEST COVER EVER.

Let me introduce you to Irish McConnell the leader of the Fangs a hot vampire biker club. and Claire Montgomery , the shy librarian, who is a werewolf and the intended mate to Gannon Dodd, the leader of the weres biker club. Irish has been harboring strong feelings for Claire but he can't act upon them because of the rules . Weres and Vampires do not mix for any reason , Until the day he walks into the dingy bar and finds Claire and the mess she made. Not knowing what happened Irish decides to help poor Claire. wanting to find the reason why Claire did what she did.

Now they have one hot night of forbidden passion. Knowing that they will never be able to do it again. Now the Weres are moving in and they know something is up , will Irish and Claire be found out and will they find their way to each other.

All I can say is this, this book needs to be on every woman's naughty reading list. It is hot hot hot. The story unfolds when all the super naturals are pushed into certain areas. Taken from their homes and jobs . They are forced to figure out how to survive hence the biker clubs.

The characters are so sexy and complex . Irish is one character that you can picture yourself , hopping behind him and driving off into the sunset on the back of his Harley. He is the vision of the alpha man. Gruff but with a heart of gold for the one woman that he wants . Claire is a force to be reckoned with also. She may be small and a librarian , but she knows what she wants and it isn't Gannon Dodd. She will do just about anything not to mate .

Dakota Cassidy takes us on a very naughty night of passion. You will be turning the pages well into the night. I know I was , trust me once you are done there will be great rewards and your hubby will thank you. heheheheheheheehehehehe

So if you want a very naughty book to add to your naughty pile . You all know you have one. I suggest that you make room for this naughty but fun read. A great afternoon read for anyone

Review:

This is the beginning of a multi-part series. New episodes will release approximately every two to three weeks. This book is not meant to be read as a standalone story.

Irish has longed for Claire for five years. Claire has been promised to another alpha werewolf as his mate. Claire not being real keen on that plan took matters into her own hands and it gets a little messy.

Vampires and werewolves don’t mix, but when Irish stumbles across Claire and her mess, he can’t help wanting to protect her. Irish comes to Claire’s rescue more than once and then they finally have it out. Neither one can resist any more. Their attraction and chemistry are palpable. Claire and Irish light up the pages with their doomed love making.

The hero and heroine are very likable characters and as a reader I rooted for them. The evil characters are evident and quite loathsome. There are some plots within plots waiting to be hatched in this serial story.

Fangs of Anarchy: Killing the Alpha (Part One) was easy to get sucked into. The characters are being developed right before our eyes as the plot unfolds. Readers even get a new world to play in with Dakota Cassidy. A plot twist at the end will have readers holding their breath until the next episode.

This story is part of a serial, and Dakota Cassidy knew right where to leave us hanging for more. These serial books seem to be all the rage right now and are kind of like soap operas. Readers will want to tune into this book opera to see what happens next!

The town of Rock Cove, Maine is inhabited entirely by supernaturals: the vampire clan, led by Irish McConnell and the Fangs of Anarchy biker gang; and a werewolf clan led by the rival Road Dogs gang. The werewolf pack alpha was Gannon Dodd until Claire Montgomery, his chosen mate, killed him. When Irish discovers Claire trying to dispose of the body, he decides to help even though protecting her from the pack risks his own life and a supernatural war. The situation is complicated by Claire's and Irish's attraction, which is mutual, but also taboo. The pair heat up the pages from the very beginning with their self-proclaimed Romeo and Juliet relationship. It's going to be a lot of fun to see where they go.

I love this world that Dakota Cassidy has created! It feels a little like Defiance with vampires instead of aliens, though it's not sci-fi. Ten years ago, humans forced all the supernaturals into remote settlements, which are surrounded by a lawless area called the Zone. Then the government levied exorbitant taxes on things the supernaturals need, like blood for the vampires, creating a kind of Wild West atmosphere. I'm hoping that Claire and Irish go on the lam so I get to see more of their fascinating world.

Fangs of Anarchy is a serial, so this is the first of five parts which are being released a few weeks apart. This one pulls you right in but also leaves a lot of questions unanswered. I'm really going to hate waiting for the next installment.

Claire Montgomery (werewolf) is in BIG trouble. Irish McConnell (vampire) comes to her rescue. Claire's had a thing for Irish for quite some time, but he's already rebuffed her advances. So why does he, without question, drop everything and help her fix this mess that will inevitably draw him into her trouble? Maybe he has more than one reason for rebuffing her.

I'm not always a fan of the serial. The idea that I only get a small snippet of a story at a time can be irritating. However, I have recently found several that I'm enjoying, including this one. Claire is incredibly smart and sassy, but she is terribly naive and obtuse about certain things. Irish is the quintessential biker bad boy, with a twist. We learn that this is a different society. Paranormals have been weeded out of the human population and forced into towns containing more of "their own" or sent to The Zone. The Zone is bad. We don't know how bad, just that it's very not good. Claire's actions have set things in motion that pit the werewolf and vampire biker gangs against each other, foregoing a tenuous peace (the werewolves are suppliers of synthetic blood that the vamps distribute to lower and middle class that can't afford the highly taxed necessity).

When the shit hits the ceiling, Irish backs up Claire the only way he knows how. And then...nothing. We wait for the next installment. This was a quick paranormal, dystopian, biker read.

Does end in a cliffhanger but OMG this was a damn good book. Werewolves and Vampires, Romeo and Juliet type story. Irish is the president of Fang, vampire biker club, he has been secretly been in love with Claire a werewolf for over 5 years, as long as she has been wanting Irish. But her intended mate the president/ alpha of her pack and MC the Dogs did something and she killed him. Lets me just say Irish is a hardcore biker but if anyone messes with his love they better look out, even when her pack knows she killed the alpha, Irish will cover for her. I cant wait to read the others, Dakota mix my favorites stories together, bikers that grow hair and fangs to draw blood.

WOW this was a ride! This is sure to be my new obsession. Clair is to be mated to her Alpha. A man she hates and does everything in her power to stop it. Irish is the man she fantasizes about. With the reality live up to the fantasy. Once I started this story I couldn't put it down. It was sexy, funny, and had edge of you're seat suspense. I am loving this world Cassidy has created and can't wait to explore more of it.

This book does end on a major cliffhanger, but it is fast paced, edge of your seat, and the tension between Irish and Claire will get your heart pounding! Wow! I loved Claire's don't back down attitude with her pack and when it comes to her, Irish doesn't back down either. Great start to this series!

Interesting start.
Doesn't seem cheesy so far, which is what I was expecting, so I'm pleasantly surprised.
But it's just a taste. One of those stories that would be better read all in one shot, instead of broken into pieces. But so far, it's had a promising start, and I think I'm going to like it.

I really liked the evil soap opera music at the end...nice touch.

I read this in Once Upon a Midnight. Loved it! The humor between Irish and Claire was great...but the love was awesome! The story line was interesting and the characters awesome. Claire did what she had to do and Irish loves her a n d would do anything for her. But they aren't allowed to be together because of the "laws" ! What's going to happen? Definitely a great read!v
