this book is awesome. i got it from the library when i was about 15 and i loved it, but gave up on most of the problems before i could figure them out. 15 years later i found this book again for cheap, and it has kept me occupied for hours on end. not your typical chess book, in fact all you really need to know are how the pieces move, no strategy. clever stories to go along with fun logic problems, this book is great for all ages.
Smullyan has fun books on philosophy and Zen, and a large number of logical puzzle books, but this one is my favorite. A simple, brilliant concept: here's a chess position, can you deduce some given fact about it?
