Of all the topics taught in law enforcement academies and criminal justice training centers throughout the United States, one of the critical topics that always seems to get poor, little, or even no attention at all is the principles of interview and interrogation. Despite the obvious weakness in their training, we regularly require and even demand that investigators be able to seek and gain critical information from victims, witnesses, informants, sources of information, and ultimately confessions from suspects.
I bought this book after being fascinated with the Jeffrey Deaver character, Kathryn Dance. If you're interested in human behaviour then it's worth a read.
This floored me and gave me a new and greater appreciation for what investigators go through. Used as a resource when writing, so it served my purpose well.
