Rate this book
Jake Fox is a man on a mission. Driven by a mysterious connection between his late father and a stranger named Ryan, and armed with a collection of letters exchanged between the two, Jake wants nothing more than to unravel the enigma. Just who is this Ryan guy?

Ryan Green is just trying to get by. So while the handsome stranger who pays for her groceries intrigues her, caring for her dying mom and raising her dead sister's daughter is all she has time for. But when the muscular handyman moves in across the street, the spark of their chemistry is difficult to ignore.

Upon arrival in the small town of Dull, Oregon, Jake is blown away to discover that Ryan is not the man he expected but an intriguing, attractive woman. While he avoids confronting his past and explaining his true purpose in Oregon, Jake can't help but feel safe in the blue-eyed beauty's company. And after Ryan witnesses him forming a bond with her six-year-old ward, she wonders if her run of craptacular boyfriends is finally over.

Can Jake and Ryan navigate the challenges of their intertwined histories, finding solace and happiness, or will the secrets split them apart?

4.5⭐ Finally Jake's book and it was so good! I was curious to see how his story would wrap especially since he had been fighting some demons since we met him earlier in the series. There wasn't a moment I wasnt entertained, perfectly paced, and the build up between Jake and Ryan was perfect. Ryan also had her struggles and the author did a great job showing how they each overcame their issues in order to come together. Loved the scenes with past characters especially the sibling interactions. It was the perfect series wrap up. Read this in 3 days! By far my favorite Fox sibling book.

I received this book as an ARC and encouraged to leave an honest review.

Started and finished in 1 day. This is the 5th (and final 😢) book in the Fox sibling series. And possibly my favorite, and I’ve loved them all. Having gone through a loss myself this book kicked me right in the feels and I may have (I did) cried a few times. At least the last cry was a happy one. I’m sad to know my journey with these characters is over. Sending a huge shout out to the author for sending me the arc to read for free. This review is my own and given (through my tears) happily

For Fox Sake. Readers of Mary Frame’s wonderful series about the Fox siblings will be delighted that Jake is the focus of this story. Sobriety has brought some acceptance to Jake’s feelings of responsibility for the death of his twin, Aria. Now he has flown across the country to find the mysterious Ryan who wrote so many letters to his late father. Jake’s world is about to be upended and forever changed by what he uncovers. His first shock is that Ryan is a very attractive young woman with a child named Ari. Ms. Frame has written a beautiful book that delves deeply into the grief experienced by the death of family. The story which focuses on relationships and recovery is compelling and uplifting. Readers will fall in love with six year old Ari, who is pivotal to the plot. Series fans will be thrilled, but the book can also be a standalone. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this novel. Most highly recommend.

Wow. Just wow.

Very genetic here as I don't want to give anything away about the plot but this was amazing.

Great characters and their development, brilliant pacing, all the awesome characters from past books...

Such a fitting ending to a series. It all comes full circle. I loved it.

I loved this and was deeply moved by it. I’ve been patiently waiting for Jake’s story and it was wonderful. The author made me laugh and tear up. I love her writing style. The romance and tragedies touched my heart in a profound way. And I just hugged the book when I finished. Ari was so adorable and made me laugh out loud many times. She was a delight to an already beautiful story.
Mary Frame has a unique talent for crafting stories that are both entertaining and heartfelt. I highly recommend this one.

I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.

I've been a huge fan of the Fox family since the first book in the series was released in 2022. Of all the siblings, Jake was the hardest to get to know because of his guilt over the death of his twin sister, Aria, when they were 16. After taking care of their father while he slowly died of cancer, he sank into alcoholism to cope with the pain caused by these two losses. He slowly climbed out of his depression and sobered up. This, the last book about the siblings, is his story of what happens next.

This books delves into Jake's quest to discover the identity of someone who had been corresponding with his father in the years before his death and why they had been writing. That person turns out to be Ryan, a single mother with an almost 6-year-old daughter, Ari, living in Oregon. After meeting her, a relationship grows between them, founded on their mutual tragedies of having lost a sister. Before too long, Ari and Ryan both have found places in his heart and their relationship starts helping him heal from his losses.

Although I wasn't especially interested in Jake before I started this book, I found his story to be one of the most compelling and engaging in the series. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. I loved the story and the way Frame told it, and I loved the characters. Learning Jake's story from his viewpoint, seeing him come to grips, finally, with the tragedy, and watching him accept the tragedy and finally begin to forgive himself, was really rewarding and completely satisfying. If there are no more books in the series, that's fine, even though I'll miss the Fox family.

I can hardly wait to see what Frame writes next!

As a fan of this series, I was thrilled to get my hands on this, the last of the Fox family to get their HEA. It's best to have read the others in this series before this one, to avoid spoilers and have the best experience.

Jake leaving his siblings and hometown (at the end of Taylor's book) made me extremely nervous for what this book would contain. While the death of his twin, Aria, affected every sibling differently, Jake's grief was compounded by his father's death and the secrets he took to his grave. He was not in a good place, and at the start of this story, but bound and determined to uncover the truth. But as we know, things you think you understand to be true have a way of turning around to be things you don't understand at all. His attitude and mindset quickly changed when Ryan became more than just a name.

Ryan has many responsibilities, that are crushing and making her life challenging. I really felt for her, and her situation. This author allows me to attach to these characters easily, and that is one of the reasons I recommend her, and enjoy her works.

The connection Jake and Ryan have is adorable, and they are "two peas in a pod", dealing with each of their losses. Only, Ryan has Ari to consider through it all. I appreciated the symbolism and tie-in with the Fox family, and how it came to light.

The relationship and steamy chemistry between Ryan and Jake was engaging and addictive, and I absolutely adored their HEA. Having reached the end of this series, I am definitely going back to book one, and going to binge read them all again. My complimentary copy was provided by BookSirens, and I happily leave this review. I know I said it before, but I really recommend reading in order, for the best experience. Worth your time, IMO.

Fantastic read that puts you through your emotional paces! You read page one and literally can’t stop as Jake, Ryan, and Ari slam into you with loss, closure, humor, irresistible attraction and a connection that none of them saw coming. It’s the saddest romcom ever delivered in a completely enthralling story that leaves you with a full heart and a whole lot of satisfaction.
Blurb:
Jake Fox is a man on a mission. Armed with a collection of mysterious letters between his late father and a stranger named Ryan, Jake wants nothing more than to unravel the enigma: Just who is this Ryan guy? But when Jake arrives in Dull, Oregon, he finds Ryan is no guy at all.
Ryan Green is just trying to get by. So while the handsome stranger who pays for her groceries intrigues her, caring for her dying mom and raising her dead sister’s daughter are all she has time for. But when the muscular handyman moves in across the street, the spark of their chemistry is difficult to ignore. Safe in the blue-eyed beauty’s company, Jake can’t quite confront his past—or share his true purpose in Oregon. But the deeper Ryan falls, the closer their intertwined histories come to splitting them apart.
An absolute perfect ending to this series! Jake completely guts you and makes you laugh as he works through the mystery his dad left behind, finally confronts his untouched feelings about his sister, and finds Ryan and Ari who are the key to his past and his future. Crazy to me how much fun a read that focuses on losing siblings this was, but Mary Frame did an incredible job of delivering all the hard stuff with humor and it gives not only Jake and Ryan a great satisfying story but the whole Fox family.

I’ve really loved this series, getting to know the siblings, how they treat each other and the way their lives turn out. Whilst this is a stand alone read, you really need to read this series from book 1 to be able to understand the relationships that they all have with each other and their partners, and the reasons they treat each other as they do.

Jake has never come to terms with the death of his twin sister, Aria, 12 years ago, blaming himself and trying to cope by drinking until he forgets, which never works. When he finds a series of letters from someone called Ryan that had been sent to his late father, he is determined to find out what it’s all about.

Although it was fairly easy early on to realise why Ryan was in touch with Jake’s father, this doesn’t spoil the read at all. It’s such a heart warming story, and rounds off this lovely series really well. As in every family, there are arguments, strains in their relationships but ultimately they are there for each other when any of them are in trouble or just need their support.

The characters have become like people you would love to know, who you care about and who you would really like to hear still more from them, to see how their lives work out. However, the author has tied up any loose ends their might have been. Can’t wait to she read whatever she writes next.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Out of all of the Fox sibling’s books, this one for me was the most emotional one. I think it had to do with Jake and how he’s grown throughout the series and also, since the tragedy of Aria.

Jake leaves his family to search for Ryan Green, who was writing letters to their dad, specifically about Ryan's sister, Mia. Determined to find Ryan, he rents a place and finds a job in the town that Ryan resides in. With the help of his private investigator, the unit he rents is ran by Ryan, who just so happens to live across the street.

When he meets Ryan, he is surprised to learn that Ryan is a female. This digs more into his curiosity and digs deeper to try and find the connection with her family and his dad. While befriending Ryan, he also meets Ari, Ryan’s daughter. With his intentions of learning about Ryan and her family, he instead, develops a deeper connection with Ryan. Learning about the loss of her sister, Mia and caring for her mom, all the while sharing things he never thought he’d be comfortable sharing with another person. While things start to seem like it’s going good, Jake comes clean regarding his purpose for being in town, which ultimately leads to Ryan feeling betrayed.

I really did feel all the feels in this book. From Jake’s interaction with Ari to Ryan’s hardship with her mom. I laughed, I cried, I felt a lot of things. The characters and storyline really touched me.

I received an ARC and I am leaving a review voluntarily.

This series has done a number on my emotions! Each book has left an indelible mark on me, and this book maybe more so than the others.

Since the first book, I’ve thought of Jacob as selfish, hopeless, heartbroken, or lost. As the series has progressed I saw his growth and he earned my respect in getting himself together. In this book he showed the wonderful man who’s still working through his grief, yet is selfless and kind. I wanted nothing more than for him to find peace and his happily ever after.

It was impossible to not love Ryan! She’s had her fair share of losses, and like Finley, gave up opportunities to help her family. As much as she struggles, she never complained and always put Ari first.

The tie that brought Jake and Ryan together, once it was revealed, left me teary eyed. There was a moment in this book, when Ryan’s mother mentioned seeing something, that was just for the readers. It was a little bit of closure wrapped in hope. Cue the waterworks!

While I loved this book and the whole series, I’m saddened that this is the end. This family, despite all its loss, dysfunction, and devastation, has found a way to past all that to find love and hope.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest opinion.

Thank you to BookSirens for an ARC of For Fox Sake, Book 5 in the Fox Family Series. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I have really enjoyed this series. The Fox family seems like one anyone would want to join and be part of.

This book focuses on Jake. Jake hasn't been able to get past the death of his twin, Aria, when they were teenagers. His guilt led him to dark places but with the help of his siblings he's been able to pull himself out. When he finds letters from someone named Ryan to his father he decides to figure out who this mysterious person is.

Ryan Green is a young woman raising her sister's daughter, Ari. Her sister, Mia, died in childbirth. Ryan is managing a few properties and barely scraping by - her mother has Alzheimer's and her care facility eats up most of Ryan's income.

Jake shows up and rents the property across the street. He quickly becomes friends with Ryan and her niece, Ari. First order of business, find out if Ryan and Ari are related to the Fox family.

Despite his deception, Jake and Ryan find themselves falling for each other.

Again, this would work as a standalone. I enjoyed it very much.

I received a digital ARC of this book. This is the fifth book in the series and could technically be read as a stand-alone, but all the other characters are in the previous books as well as so much of the back story for Jake..so I recommend reading the books in order. I have been in love with the Fox family since book 1. I want them to be real people who I can meet and hang out with. In book 4, (spoiler alert) Jake and his siblings find some letters from someone named Ryan written to their dad. Since their dad has passed away they can’t ask him about them. Jake decides he wants to solve the mystery. He’s hired a PI and has the location of this Ryan guy. Jake flies out there to meet/confront this Ryan guy to find out why he was writing letters to their dad. What Jake isn’t expecting is for Ryan to be a woman. Not just a woman, an attractive woman. As Jake gets to know Ryan, attraction develops…but he has to figure out the mystery first. If I wasn’t reading this on school nights (teacher) I would’ve read the whole book in one sitting. You won’t want to stop turning the pages. And I really hope we get more books in the Fox Family series.

Gah! I just finished this book and it was so amazing! I’ve been wanting Jake’s book for so long. I have to say I’ve loved every single book in this series and because they’re all siblings you get to see the couples again and again in each book. I love this big happy family, it’s been so hard won! Jake is looking for Ryan, who’s letters they found in their fathers stuff after he passed. What he finds will blow you away, I know it did me. The story takes a direction I never expected and neither did Jake or his sisters. We meet sweet Ari, Ryan and a whole host of friends and characters that just make the book even better. I have to say, it’s funny and sweet but I seriously cried at least 5 times it was so heartwarming and sad and happy too. Life is definitely getting better for the Fox family and they all deserve it. What a fantastic end to this series, can’t wait to see what Mary Frame comes up with next! Hope it’s more like this❤️ Jake and Ryan were absolutely perfect for the series to end on. I received an ARC and am very happily leaving my review. Thanks for the best whole family romance I’ve read!

Heart, Humor, Family, Overcoming Grief and Life's Obstacles, and Even a Mystery - Amazing Book!

This was the perfect wrap-up to the amazing Fox family series. It is easily read as a standalone as the sibling cameos are well-explained, so their individual backstories are not crucial to this narrative (although they are also great books if you get a chance to read the series). The youngest sibling Jake travels to Dull, Oregon to find his deceased father's mystery pen-pal Ryan (who surprise! is an attractive young woman, and raising her niece, Ari). The characters are all well written, with depth, humor and without spoilers, their new-found relationship evokes ALL the feels. And there were more chills as Ryan and Ari meet Jake's siblings and their partners and are enveloped into the "Fox Den" - definitely eyes were leaking. I am glad to see the series end on such a high note and am looking forward to the next book from this author - Enjoy!

I was sent an ARC by the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

This was a really good book to wrap up this series but you definitely need to read them in order to make sense of it. I really liked Jake as a main character especially after seeing him as a side character in the four preceding books and Ryan was a really great love interest. I do think that it felt a little flat in parts, they didn’t have as much friction as previous couples in the series and the big conflict was handled a little weird…like it should have been a bigger deal then it was?
I think if I read this as a standalone book it would’ve been rated much lower, it’s definitely only this strong of a rating because it does a good job at completing the Fox family series but on its own I found just a few too many issues with the plot personally.
I also feel like Jake deserved a bit…more? His own issues and triumphs were kind of glossed over and after we saw his story developing through the earlier books in the series I wanted him to have a bigger hurrah to end it off but it wasn’t terrible, just not amazing!

An amazing book and this is the last book of the Fox Series . Lot of sweet and motional moments . Jake after finding in his father things the letters he received from a person named Ryan and having enough clues travels in the small town of Dull to finally learn the truth . Ryan is raising her 6 year old niece Ari after her sister's death and have to take care of her mom who is suffering from dementia . When one of her renters ask for her help she doesn't exept to find the kind man who paid for her groceries . From the first time they met they both felt that they could tell the other about their pasts and their struggles . His connection with Ari is so sweet . Jake is blaming himself for his sister death and maybe these two women will heal him . What will happen when Ryan learn the reason Jake came to find her ?
I received this book from the author and the publisher as an ARC . Thank you! All thoughts and opinions are my own .

We've seen Jake throughout the Fox family series, and witnessed his struggles with alcohol and the death of his twin sister. In this final instalment, he goes in search of answers to some questions stemming from mysterious letters to his late father, and gets not only more than he ever imagined but also a sense of healing and acceptance.
I've really enjoyed this whole series, and Jake's story is the perfect ending to it. Although he's away from his sisters and their partners for much of the book, they all still make an appearance (and Oliver is still very much Oliver). His relationship with Ryan and Ari develops beautifully, and I genuinely did not see the truth of their connection coming. It's sweet, and funny, and also heart-wrenching and poignant, and a thoroughly original and perfect end to this series.
Thanks to Booksirens and the publisher for the advance review copy. All opinions are my own.

This is the fifth and final book in the "Fox" series featuring 5 siblings struggling with loss and finding love. Jake has been sober for over a year now but he still can't deal with the loss of his twin. He is deterto find out why his father has a bunch of letters by somebody named Ryan living on the other side of the country. So Jake decides to find more about the mysterious letters to his father by coming to the small town Ryan lives in. When he meets Ryan the first time he is in for a surprise...
I have read and liked all of the books in the series and I loved finally reading Jake's story. I felt so much for both Jake and Ryan, they were just completely relatable characters and of course I loved Ari from the start. I enjoyed reading how the story unfolded and the ending was just what the series needed.
Really a great book that makes you feel so much.

Terrific match for the remaining Fox sibling😍

This was definitely my favorite story in Mary Frame's Fox family series. Jake, Ryan and Ari are all great characters and the mystery Jake's set on solving gave this romance that extra something. When he finally solves the puzzle, it's such a poignant moment and it upped my emotional attachment to the plot.

Both Jake and Mia have suffered the grief of the loss of a sibling cut off in their prime. The author has really given them the moving back stories and great depth that had me hooked and emotionally invested in their HEA. The romance had mild heat with closed door moments that were just right, especially with a child on the scene most of the time. Little Ari added another level of fun, enthusiasm and happiness. The epilogue is a perfect, family-filled HEA.

Definitely recommended.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest opinion.

This series is EVERYTHING! I’ve been here since the beginning and I couldn’t WAIT to read Jake’s story. His past is the most heart wrenching and tragic of all the siblings because of two very close losses. We see bits and pieces of Jake and how he changes and matures throughout the rest of the series, so by the time we get to this book he is healing and sober and a very different man from the first book. I could not ask for a better match for Jake. The chemistry between Jake and Ryan is off the charts and the slow burn is a killer but totally worth it. Ryan is also a package deal and obviously Jake is perfect with Ari. The storyline is amazing and such a perfect fit for these characters. I seriously wish I was part of this family. The Bluey and 10th Kingdom references make me so insanely happy and exactly what my 6 year old is into as well! Perfect. Really and truly. Definitely read this series! I want a hardcover boxed set! This is the last book in this awesome series. The Fox family are complicated but perfect just the way they are.

Jake, who lost his twin Aria in a car accident, deserved the best story and he got it. He's come a long way from drunk and depressed, to sobering up and taking charge of his life. (I've been waiting for his story since the first book in the series.) After finding some letters of his late father's, who was writing to a mystery person named Ryan, he decides to solve the mystery on his own. So, off he goes. But Jake finds more than he was looking for. He finds Ryan, who happens to be a woman and the adorable Ari. Together they find peace, healing, love, and their HEA.

Great writing, beautiful story, and some laughs every now and then to balance it all out. There are new characters and returning characters and they are all awesome. I can't say enough good about this book or this whole series. I highly recommend it.

The perfect end to a great series. Jake has come so far since Between a Fox and a Hard Place. Loved the closure that this book gave to coping with Aria's death, not just for Jake but for the entire family. I am so happy that Jake found Ryan (female Ryan). They really deserved each other and their HEA.
I really enjoyed the incorporation of all the characters from the previous books. Oliver is still my favorite. I had to go back and reread the entire series after reading this book - I can't get enough of the Fox family.
Note that this series covers more serious subjects (references to death of family members and alcohol abuse) than Mary Frame's typical rom-coms. But that gives the characters more depth and makes them more real, and there is still plenty of humor and wit.
Please let there be a spin of series that gives us Mason's HAE!!!!

'For Fox Sake' was funny. The entertaining plot was filled with hilarity, a much-needed rescue, raising a late sister's daughter, a headache of a jerk, a mistake in identity, coping with a mom on hospice, managing rentals, looking to meet the writer of letters to a father, reminiscing about a twin sister's death, a daughter's loss, a budding relationship, and love.
Additionally, Jake and Ryan, the protagonists, were well-suited for each other and oozed chemistry. Also, I liked the author's writing style: well-written and engaging characters, a fascinating setting in Dull, Oregon, vivid descriptions, and a captivating storyline that showed humor, anxiousness, loss, closure, compassion, and love. Overall, I liked the enthralling narrative.

This may be the first book I’ve read by this author, but it definitely won’t be my last. I’ve already purchased several more of her books, since I enjoyed Ryan and Jake’s story so much. Jake goes to Dull, Oregon to find Ryan and find out why he was writing to his late father. Imagine his surprise when Ryan is a gorgeous woman. Jake first sees Ryan at the grocery store, in the checkout line. He pays for her groceries, when she can’t find her wallet. Ryan is caring for her dying mom and her late sister’s daughter, Ari. I’m not going to leave any spoilers but this book will take you on a roller coaster ride, as you’re reading about these characters. Do yourself a favor and grab your copy. I bet you’ll want to read more of this author’s books, just like I do.

This was such a cute read! I haven't read all of the Fox family books, but now I might have to go back and read the ones I missed. I remembered Jake had...some issues he needed to deal with and I was curious to see how this story would play out (and what was going on with the letters). I really loved Ryan and Ari, who was absolutely adorable! I don't always love kids in books, but how could you not love Ari?

Ryan hasn't had the best track record with men, or the easiest life so far, but she just keeps on going doing what needs to be done. I loved watching these two fall for each other and figure everything out. They were so perfect together! They complement each other so well and help each other to live their best lives. They really were great together. Such a fun read, even if it had some very heavy topics.

Thanks to the author for an advanced copy of this book.

Sometimes when you go looking for information, you learn more than you ever dreamed you would as Jake Fox discovers. Trying to understand letters between some guy and his deceased father takes Jake on a journey far beyond anything he could imagine. I was spellbound reading this incredibly wonderful story about family, loss, and finding what you never knew you were missing!
Part of a series with each book about a different Fox sibling, this particular one deals with the death of a sibling, guilt, and finally acceptance. However, although Jake deals with his never ending pain and guilt, he discovers that it doesn't have to define who he is. A beautiful story filled with family, love, and joy. I loved it!

I truly enjoyed all the books in the series, because each made me think deeply on subjects otherwise easily overlooked.

Each of the siblings is special in a very endearing way, and their interactions with each other speak of their deep bond, so tested by Aria's death. They all suffered greatly and picked up the pieces, but Jake was so irreversibly broken I thought he will never find happiness. And then hope grew as each sister paired with such good people, bringing strength and healing to them all.

Commenting on how Jake found his North would be a huge spoiler, but now that I finished it I realize it was the only way to replace the missing link. Read it, you will find the same excellent writing, moving introspection and warmth to the heart as in all Mary Frame's books.

This book hit me in the feelings. All of them!!! I've been with the Fox family from the beginning and I'm not ready to say goodbye, but this was the perfect closing for their saga.

Jake goes on a journey to find out who was the misterious Ryan that sent letters to his father, but whatever he hoped to find wasn't everything that was missing from his life.

As Jake, Ryan knows lost and grief well, and she is the perfect match for him. It helps they're instantly attracted to each other, but things are not easy.

I don't want to say more, because every one should be invested and surprised by this story. I finished this book on the same day because I just couldn't let go.

Kudos for Mary Frame, I'll forever carry the Fox sisters and brother in my heart.
