Rate this book

Kyle tricks them into being guests on his new travel show that entails an old west cowboy adventure where the cameras are rolling, the cattle are stampeding, and someone wants Kyle dead. It’s up to Cindy to keep her brother alive, if she doesn’t kill him first. Meanwhile Jeremiah is busy trying to make sure that his past stays in the past which is becoming harder to do. Mark and his wife, Traci, are along for the ride that is bound to be the most stressful of their lives as the bodies and tensions mount.

Hoping to give Cindy and her friends a much needed vacation Kyle, Cindy's brother, invites them to go on a cattle drive with him. What he neglects to tell them is that this cattle drive will be filmed as part of one of Kyle's adventure episodes. The drive seems to be doomed from the beginning with the death of one of the crew, but Kyle insists the show must go on and so everyone saddles up no matter how reluctant they are.

Jeremiah is determined that the footage from the filming never gets put on TV. He has secrets to keep. Neither Cindy or Jeremiah can define their relationship yet, but those around them seem to assume that they are in love. Jeremiah knows that in order to protect his secrets that eventually he must leave, but his attraction to Cindy and desire to keep her safe keeps him from doing that.

Miles away from any town or law enforcement Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark and Traci realize that there is a killer among them and that Kyle is the person's target. Will they be able to figure out who it is before anyone else is killed?

Loved the setting of this one! I really enjoyed the "gang" being all together to solve this case as well. I also liked that we got to see Cindy and Kyle together. After so many books with hints of the jealousy that Cindy has for Kyle, and her parents obvious favoritism for him, it was fun to read about what makes him tick. We are still in the dark as to Jeremiah's past and also what happened to Cindy and Kyle's sister many years before, but with each installment we learn just a little more of both. I really like the dynamics between the 4 friends. Cindy and Traci get along well together even though Traci keeps pushing Cindy to talk about her relationship with Jeremiah. Jeremiah and Mark have a healthy respect for each other. Mark knows that Jeremiah has secrets from his past and he is okay with letting those secrets lay. Mark's search into his former partner Paul's past has hit a roadblock, but at the end of the book a new clue surfaces and he enlists Jeremiah and Cindy in helping him to hunt it down. I'm definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series to see what happens there! Mystery and series fans I have not been disappointed in any of the Psalm 23 Mysteries, so if you are looking for something exciting to read check these out!!

Psalm 23 Mysteries written beyond your imagination.

I have read the previous books in this series and can't wait to start the next one. How Debbie is going to finish the final book is beyond my imagination. Most "thrillers" give obvious hints to the end of a book and suspense is over brfore the book. Not these books. I'm hanging on until the next to last chapter following by a great ending releasing the built up excitement and ready to start the next in the series. These are the perfect series for mystery, bit of romance, and a great thriller.

The next book (#6) in this excellent series, finds amateur sleuths, Cindy and Jeremiah joining Cindy's brother, Kyle on the premiere filming of Kyle's new adventure (television,) show. Joining the couple are friends, Mark, a homicide detective, and his wife, Traci. The foursome are excited about having a paid vacation (gift from Kyle) however, not so thrilled to learn they are going on a cattle round-up. Jeremiah is even less thrilled to find that this adventure is going to be filmed. You need to read the series from book one onward to figure out why. I'm not going to spoil it for you.

The adventure is marred when one of the cowboys is found dead. Was it a heart attack or??? Cindy and Jeremiah, as well as Traci fear a murderer may be amongst the group. Soon there is even more evidence to support their suspicions.

I know a lot of reviewers give an outline of the story plots, however, I'm of the opinion that this book is so well written, the action so sharp, and the dialog leads the reader along, that to give hints as to where this story goes would only take away from the reader's enjoyment.

This is an excellent series. There are plenty of surprises, however, there is also a gentle romance between the Rabbi and protestant secretary that keeps a continuous thread beneath the main tale. This factors keep me returning volume by volume and I hope this series continues on for many years to come.

A very clever murder mystery series and is not overly preachy, but reminds us of being human and needing a guiding hand once in awhile. Enjoy this adventure. Good reading!

I would have rated this between a 3 and a 4, but I doubt I's reread it (a 5.)

This one of the series takes place in the west, but it is more complicated than a traditional western.

It was a fun read.

I liked Traci's boyant character, although perhaps that's a little unrealistic with all she's been through.

We finally get to meet Cindy's brother, Kyle, who has stirred such animosity in her.

Cindy is becoming more violent between attacking Jeremiah in the last book and Kyle in this book, but the men in this book just think it's funny and blame it on PTSD. Of course, if you look at their own track-records with violence...

I did sort-of figure it out. I had it down to two characters and this was one. I'm not sure we had enough information to make the final call.

The first arrest Mark made really "got" me.

Enjoyed this little mystery, although I figured out the killer well before the end. I really like Cindy, Jeremy, Mark and Traci, the main characters. In this 6th book of the series, we meet Cindy's brother who doesn't seem to be well liked and I concur. A cute, easy book to read! Ok, I am hooked reading these to figure out Jeremy's background. Before he became a rabbi, he apparently lived a completely different life.

Great storyline, again, but I seriously struggle with the lack of proper punctuation. I can't even count how many sentences I have to re-read because of a total lack of proper punctuation. It's so tiring.

Each of these books get better than the last one. We're getting a little closer to clearing up some mysteries!! I won't say anything else because I don't want to spoil it. I am like another reviewer, I'm going to be sad to see this series end.

I love this mystery series about Christian church secretary, Cindy, Jewish Rabbi, Jeremiah, and their policeman friend, Mark. In this book Cindy's most un favorite brother, Kyle, has invited Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark, and Mark's wife, Traci on one of his TV adventure shoots. They are going to be part of a team of cowboys on a cattle round-up. But it seems that someone wants Kyle dead, as people start dropping along the trail. It's more about who likes Kyle, then who might want to kill him.

Everyone has secrets and trauma in their pasts. We've been learning a little more about Jeremiah's past with each book. He's definitely more than just a rabbi, with clues about his time in the Israeli army. Mark just recently found out that his long time police partner was not who he claimed to be---but now he's dead too. Cindy's sister drowned in childhood---helping to cause a rift in her family. Of course, by now, they've also survived numerous murder investigations together.

Great characters--well done mystery---just the right amount of God's Word. Excellent series!!

Cindy's brother Kyle invites her and her friends out on a cattle drive as a vacation. What was suppose to be a vacation turns in a group of people stuck out in the middle of nowhere with a killer among them. Three people have died and a other attempts have been made. Can Cindy, Jeremiah, Mark & Tracey get the bottom of it before anyone else suffers? Tracey and Cindy grew closer in this experience, conversations with Tracey get Cindy thinking about her feelings towards Jeremiah.

This book introduces Cindy's brother, who isn't quite as obnoxious as Cindy depicts him. Jeremiah is dark and brooding and mysterious, and gets called out on it. Cindy has lots of mixed feelings as she has to deal with her brother, his ego and his news, a murderer in the ranks of a small group travelling in the middle of nowhere, and her feelings for Jeremiah whom she knows is holding back. Even Mark and Tracey have their own additions.

Another fantastic entry to this series! I really enjoyed the western theme and the references to the Lone Ranger were fun. The mystery was well developed and kept me guessing to the end. It was nice getting to know Cindy's brother in this story. The book can stand alone but is even better if you have read the whole series.

Kyle Preston is the host of an adventure travel television series. He's convinced his sister Cindy, her friend rabbi Jeremiah Silverman, and a police detective and his wife to join a cattle drive. But two attempts are made on Kyle's life, and Cindy regrets joining this ill-fated western adventure. A Christian mystery series.

This edition was definitely a disappointment. A bit hoakey, too many characters and over all, not well written. I hope she is not just trying to churn them out rather than taking her time and writing good stories.

When Cindy and Kyle's sister Lisa died when they were kids, it sent them in two different directions: Cindy became risk adverse and Kyle was always looking for the next adrenaline rush. Which is probably why Kyle's job as the star of tv show doing crazy stunts bugs Cindy so much. So much that she keeps a picture of him on her dart board to help with her aim. So when he calls her up one day out of the blue and invites her on a cattle drive vacation with Jeremiah, Mark and Traci as a break from all the murders they've been facing, and to thank Cindy's friends for looking out for her, she doesn't want to accept. But Traci is one of his biggest fans, and Mark and Jeremiah agree, so grudgingly she accepts. What he conveniently forgot was that they were filming the first segment of his new show. Once again, Traci is the only one excited about this prospect, but convinces them its still a vacation, just with cameras. On the first night out, one the crew dies. They chalk it up to accident until the bodies start piling up and it appears that Kyle is actually the intended victim. Cindy may not like the guy, but she doesn't want him killed, so she and her friends work hard to find the killer before it's too late.
I enjoyed the book, and it was good edition to the series. It was nice to see more into Cindys family life too. But the killer was pretty obvious and so it was one of those books where you spent the entire read internally yelling at the characters to smarten up and figure out what you already know.
