This is more of the authors lecture notes than a textbook. Since the author is reinventing a lot of terminology, it might be helpful to have a solutions manual available for purchase, or even better some answers to selected problems whereby one might check their understanding.

Although the books title indicates it is for the basics of decision analysis, but unfortunately it dives in a lot of mathematical equations that are far too advanced and complicated.

The first chapters are perfectly lays the foundations but the know how is not really good.

Methodically written, but dense. This field has some confusing terminology.

Ron Howard is an absolute legend, and this book is an absolute joy. Well written from the get-go. Worth getting it just to read chapter 1. If you like Annie Duke, you'll like this!
