A great primer of the PreSocratic philosophers. An easy read with a user friendly format. Without there being much out there on PreSocratic thinkers, Ring does a great job of weaving together some of the key events and players.

I read this back in college and recently it caught my eye as a delightful back-of-the-toilet reader. And it was! I just read the part about Heraclitus this time, coz now I am old and can do what I want. Heraclitus is exactly as sparkly a little devil gem as I remembered him to be.
