David G. Myers is a professor of Psychology at Hope College in Michigan, and the author of 17 books, including popular textbooks entitled Psychology, Exploring Psychology, Social Psychology and several general-audience books dealing with issues related to Christian faith as well as scientific psychology.

وبذا أنتهي من الكتاب في بضعة شهورٍ ، لا أملّه ولا يشغلني عن غيره. ‏
من الطبيعي أنّ ما تريده من الكتاب الأكاديمي يختلف عن الكتاب العادي. فالكتاب الأكاديمي –‏برأيي- للاطلاع على أسس العلم (مادته) و على تاريخه ومستجداته. ثمّ يصير مرجعًا متى لزم ‏الأمر. خاصة وأنّ الكتب الأكاديمية تعرض لعددٍ من المواضيع التي قد لا تكون من دائرة ‏الاهتمام في الوقت الحالي. ‏

I teach an intro to Psychology course, and am now using the 8th edition of the book. The author does a superb job at explaining the science behind the findings, and does make the material accessible to students.

I had to read the 10th edition of this for a college class.

In its best sections it is unhelpful. In its worst sections it is pure evil. All of it is built on a faulty worldview that denies God and assumes naturalism.

As a professional, nationally-certified psychology tutor, I have found Myers to be the clearest, most helpful, and most *enjoyable* college-level textbook available. He does such an outstanding job of finding familiar applied examples, giving the proper amount of history/theory and science/math without overwhelming the reader, providing intriguing insets and sidebars that help to get students engaged, and a plethora of additional study resources available (including a terrific interactive website that does not require a login or purchase code). Even when students are assigned other books, I find that I end up turning to Myers to give them additional handouts to work with because the reading is always so much clearer and easier to absorb and retain. This is the text to use.

A good introductary book. I particularly like the idea of the very modular approach (hence the name of the book) where every chapter can stand alone. This makes the book particularly suitable to readers like myself - if you aren't a student, it's great to be able to jump around the book as you please.

I won't give it five stars as the content wasn't eye-opening or written in any specific way. A great intro, but not more than that.

I read this (I belive the 12th edition) so a more up to date version for my General Psychology class. It's been interesting learning about the historical figures, the concepts, the growth of Psychology over decades. I think someone who's more into Psychology will probably appreciate this more than I did. Assigned reading kinda took out the joy for me.

I did not like this textbook. It did not flow easily from one subject to next, things weren't really connected all that well. I've read much better psychology books. This was the assigned textbook for my Introduction to Psychology class, but I've seen much better Intro to psych textbooks.

Not a bad book if it's assigned, but if you're studying on your own and want a good psychology textbook, shop around a little more, cause there's better picks out there.

I read the entire book for an Introduction to Psychology course. I have taken this course before with a different text that provided a much better learning experience.

Note to the Author--Don't tell the people who are reading your textbook that you never wanted to write one in the first place. Believe me, it shows.

Chock full of information! This easy read is packed from cover to cover with everything you need to know to intelligently discuss psychology. It's well-written and organized for easy reference and study into chapters and sub-chapters. It allows for critical thinking and easy mental processing of new material in an interesting manner. There are even some humorous parts!

I read this book for psychology this semester, and enjoyed reading it. It was very simple to understand, and I loved how quizzes were placed after each section so it tests the material that you just read. Worth the reading if you enjoy psychology and need a basic brush up. If you already know the material, it might be repetition.

I loved the module format of this book. It makes it very easy to digest and the short "Retrieve It" sections were great in helping to remember the important material from the module. The author is very interesting and never boring. He gives lots of real-life examples to help you make connections in your life.

Not my favorite psychology book on the market, but it was certainly readable. Compared to other similar texts that I have read, this one did not flow the best but the information was still easy enough to understand.

I'm sure this is a great textbook. I mean, it has a ton of funny cartoons in it. But my class was too large, my teacher skimmed too much, and I was too stoned. Ohhhhhh PSYCH 101, those were the good old days. Came out with an A and a textbook I never cared to look through again.
