When a serial killer is on the loose in Honduras, a group of Doctors must follow the trail of blood while uncovering ghastly truths from their own pasts.

After the disturbing events witnessed by the doctors in Disante, the masked serial killer continues experimenting on his victims while toying with the well intentioned medical staff. As Dr. Nicholas Shaw continues to wade through his repressed memories and the mystery of Unit 731, one thing becomes increasingly clear; the killer won't stop and has Dr. Shaw dead in his sights. But why does this killer seem to know so much about Dr. Shaw's past? And what plans does this killer have for the young doctor?

The killer gains traction among the doctors, while the dead bodies keep piling up. His legacy is not something to shake a stick at. It has broken people before, some to the point of suicide, others into forgoing their humanity and adopting the gruesome methods of unit 731.

One of Nick's colleagues goes missing. He is captured by the killer and forced to help him with his next victims. Nick's group receive a trio of victims, still alive and bound to each other by their guts.

This one feels like one of Bunn's quickie series without a whole lot of thought put into it. This group of doctors is running around a small town in Honduras and yet everyone speaks English. It almost feels like a old-school video game level of horror. Not to mention that if this killer is Shaw's grandfather's age, he couldn't possible be that much of a physical threat. Mutti's art looks a lot better when it's just black and white during the flashbacks. His color art looks like he flicked it on there from the other side of the room.

Written by Cullen Bunn with fantastic artwork from Andrea Mutti, A Legacy of Violence Vol. 2 picks up right where the first volume left off in this must-read horror comic book series of 2023.

The second volume of A Legacy of Violence takes readers on an even deeper dive into the horrific history of Dr. Nicholas Shaw's family. With more great artwork like in volume one, readers will be awed by the emotions and details in each panel. Mutti's style perfectly captures the dark and twisted tone of the story.

What makes A Legacy of Violence especially noteworthy is the fine line it walks between believable and unbelievable. It's like a thrilling horror movie that has you jumping at every turn. Sure, the story may get a bit weird at times, but it always keeps you hooked. The village of Disante is in chaos, with both villagers and doctors disappearing at an alarming rate. This volume takes you deeper into the town's dark secrets and makes you question what is real and what is not.

In addition to the suspenseful plot, the characters in this comic book series are complex and well-developed. Dr. Nicholas Shaw, in particular, goes on a journey of self-discovery as he uncovers more about his family's past. The supporting characters are equally fascinating and add depth to the story. You can't help but feel for the innocent villagers of Disante as they scramble for justice in the face of the town's terror.

A Legacy of Violence Vol. 2 is a fantastic continuation of the comics series. With four issues to go, we can't wait to see how the story wraps up. Horror fans, comic book lovers, and anyone looking for a thrilling read would be remiss to pass up on this series.
