Terry Lee Goodkind was an American writer. He was known for the epic fantasy series The Sword of Truth as well as the contemporary suspense novel The Law of Nines (2009), which has ties to his fantasy series. The Sword of Truth series sold 25 million copies worldwide and was translated into more than 20 languages. Additionally, it was adapted into a television series called Legend of the Seeker, which premiered on November 1, 2008, and ran for two seasons, ending in May 2010.
Goodkind was a proponent of Ayn Rand's philosophical approach of Objectivism, and made references to Rand's ideas and novels in his works.

Δε μπορώ να πω ότι δεν έχει μια καλή ιδέα, που την υποστηρίζει με αρκετά καλό τρόπο, ούτε ότι ο Ζεντ δεν είναι χαριτωμένος σε όλα του. Αλλά καμιά φορά ρε παιδί μου είναι κάπως βαρετό, ειδικά όταν αρχίζουν τα σούξου-μούξου και οι εξηγήσεις και δώσ' του κόντρα ευφυολογήματα ώστε ο Ερευνητής να καταλάβει από μόνος του και να μην πάρει την πληροφορία στο πιάτο... Πολύ βαρεμάρα. Έχει βέβαια και πολύ δυνατές σκηνές, αλλά... αχούμ-χούμ.

Για το δεύτερο τόμο θα επαναλάβω ακριβώς τα ίδια που είπα και για τον πρώτο: μια καλή ιδέα, μια χαριτωμένη υποστήριξη, διάφορες τσαχπινιές εδώ κι εκεί, μια πάαρα πολύ δυνατή line of plot το "σπάσιμο' του Ρίτσαρντ από την Ντένα, που είναι αβάσταχτα φρικαλέα και τόσο πολύ κουβεντούλα ψιλή και εξήγηση και κόντρα εξηγήσεις που μου ήρθε να βάλω τις φωνές. Παρα το γεγονός ότι το βιβλιο ειχε καποια πολύ ωραια στοιχεια φαντασιας οι χαρακτήρες του ηταν για τα μπαζα. Τελειως αδιαφοροι, χωρις πυγμη, χωρις προσωπικοτητα. Για να μην μιλησω για την γυναικα της ιστοριας η οποια παρουσιάζεται τελειως κλαψιαρα και μιζερη αν και διαθετει τεραστια δυναμη και ολοι υποτάσσονται στην θεληση της. Όταν οι δυο πρωταγωνιστες συνυπαρχουν στις σελιδες του βιβλιου η ιστορια πεφτει σε τελμα. Η σχεση τους χτιστηκε μεσα σε μια στιγμη και για αυτόν τον λογο δεν γινεται με τιποτα πιστευτη. Επιπλεον, οι ατελειωτες συζητήσεις αντι για δραση σε συνδιασμο με τις 700 και βαλε σελιδες του βιβλιου κανει την αναγνωση αρκετα κουραστικη. Τελος, υπηρχαν και αρκετα προβλέψιμα στοιχεια στην ιστορια.
