I really enjoyed reading this book with my daughters. I particularly liked how they present various situations throughout the story where Blue has to make a decision. I liked this part because I was able to discuss with my oldest daughter, who is 5, and see how she thought in order to make a decision herself. Overall, it was a cute book that I enjoyed reading with them.
It felt very interactive with me asking my son the questions in the story and he practice saying “yes or no” or point to picture to show what to do correctly.
Cute. The interactive/problem-solving parts deal with handling frustration and disappointment. As a seasoned parent and reader, I tended to get ahead of the book asking questions and having my son match and identify things... Example- I had my son match each character to their cubbyhole... When we turned the page, that's what the text asked us to do!
Nicholas loves all things blue and was very excited to get this book from the library - perfect timeing to read this the night before he starts preschool. He enjoyed helping Blue with some tough situations like being polite and cleaning up spills. Not super exciting to read for Mom, but Nicholas enjoyed.
