In a lap-size picture book, Busytown's one-footed adventurer's escapades are ended when a bike accident knocks him off his foot, but get-well cards and friends' visits convince Lowly that he won't be down for long. Children's BOMC Main.

Growing up is fun when you have Lowly worm for a friend! This big books is full of stories about the adventures of Lowly worm. From fort building to making birthday gifts, to broken feet, Lowly makes everything just a bit more fun!
(Age: 20 months) You enjoy this book almost as much as "What Do People Do All Day?" but you like me to read this one all the way through instead of skipping about, probably because it's not as deep.
Reading through this storybook has undoubtedly reminded me why i loved watching the "Busy Town of Richard Scarry". By wrapping the text with the illustrations pertaining to what is currently happening, you find yourself imagining the story come alive right before your eyes. I will cherish this book not only as a teacher but hopefully as a parent, in the hopes of sharing with them a little part of my childhood.
Any book with Lowly Worm is a good read in my house. Richard Scarry's books provide hours of entertainment after the main story is read to the little ones. Scarry's artistic detail on the characters gives a sense of consistency from when I was a little kid. Lowly's adventures are charming enough for a three-year old to pay attention and cute enough for an adult to read it again and again... and again... and again. (Oh, I'm not joking about the repeated reads... ;-)
Isn't Lowly Worm your favorite Richard Scarry character? I can't think of any reason why not. This book is a great collection of Lowly. I very much enjoy the simple stories that have charm, humor, and good common sense.
This was one of my favourites when my children were young, and one of theirs as well. In fact, we consumed a cart-load of Scarry. Soon, I can start again with my grand-children!
