This is a crap book about horses and ponies for very young kids because some of the information given is just dead wrong. Horses that were clearly bays were identified as "brown". A dun Fjord pony was identified as a grey. The polo ponies page gave the impression that all polo ponies were bays. The "wild horses" are actually ponies and they're not running across a river, but a huge freakin' marsh.

And the photos ... you can find them in other horse books published by DK Publishing. Photos are used more than once in the book, often repeating on the same page. What a trashy thing to do.

There are many types of horses and many different kind of people who ride and take care of them. This little book is perfect for early readers to learn all about them. The photos that accompany the text are lively and colorful.

This is a simple book about...ponies and horses. It has lots of colorful photos of horses in all kinds of settings, doing different activities. The narrative is very basic and good for beginning readers.
