What makes a woman join the most secretive and dangerous unit of Special Forces? What keeps her there? How does she cope with the rigorous physical and psychological training, including 'simulated terrorist interrogations', the often deadly missions, the relentless pressures of a macho world, and hte sex?
An interesting read, that is well written & informative. 14th Intelligence was a close intelligence unit formed to meet the needs of the Northern Ireland conflict. Funded by the SAS & manned by recruits from both the SAS & SBS, as well as The green Army, the RAF & the Navy. 14 Int, also known as The Det recruited women for active front line service. This book about the still controversial unit, is well worth a read for anyone interested in military history, the Irish conflict or women in the military.
This is a book by one gutsy woman who succeeded in a secretive intelligence organisation and took part in covert operations despite sexism and negative male attitudes and then left to go work in private security. Interesting read and hard to put down once started
