I read this when I was a lot younger. I got so addicted to the series, I ended up asking for everything upto book 6 (from there it had stopped...maybe there was no 7 yet, but my brother said there was no more, it got discontinued, so I never followed up)

I don't think I can start reading this again... Looking back, it just isn't my type anymore, but as a children's fantasy, Knights Of The Silver Dragon definitely was the best.

In my story, I named my character Driscoll after Driskol here (though they're nothing alike, really!) HAha! But it just goes to show how much I loved this book.

I was hoping this was going to be better than the first one but it was about the same. The characters are kind of flat and there wasn’t much depth. The plot and setting were interesting, but I’m afraid the story will always fall short if the characters are superficial. It’s hard to care about what happens to the characters (good or bad) if you can’t build a connection to them.

One thing I will give this though is that it was a little less predictable than the first novel in the series. It liked that the the Medusa wasn’t the bad guy even though they wanted to lead you to believe that. That was a nice small twist.

Like the first book in the Knights of the Silver Dragon series, Secret of the Spiritkeeper, Riddle in Stone is a fun, fast-paced fantasy adventure. Now officially Knights of the Silver Dragon, the kids have to solve their biggest mystery yet. Who is poisoning the watchers and where are the statues coming from?

Ree Soesbee does a great job with enhancing the three main characters and writing them in a way that young readers will both enjoy and treasure. Readers will enjoy getting to know these wonderful characters even better in this story, which has a few twists and surprises. There is a new addition to this threesome, but I'm not going to tell you who it is here. You have to read this book to find out. And something happens in the book that shocked me so much that my mouth dropped open. Wow!

Overall, Riddle in Stone is another great addition to this new Dungeons & Dragons Adventure series that readers of all ages will enjoy. I look forward to seeing what new adventures await these new knights in their next book, Sign of the Shapeshifter by Dale Donovan and Linda Johns.

I rated this book an 8½ out of 10.

This second book of a Dungeons and Dragons fantasy series aimed at kids felt a lot like the first book. I may have liked it better if I hadn't just read the first book yesterday. Overall it was decent but not great. It was fast-paced and had some good plot twists, but also had some plot elements that didn't really hold together under scrutiny.
