تاریخ فلسفه ی راتج سطح جدیدی از مواجهه با آثار فلسفی است. به جرئت می توانم بگویم هیچ تاریخ فلسفه ای به این سطح از دقت و زیبایی مطالعه نکرده ام. تمامی فلاسفه را نویسندگان تخصصی همان دوره و فیلسوف بررسی کرده اند. بیان کتاب بسیار قوی است و تمامی تحلیل ها با مراجعاتی به جا به نوشته های فیلسوف مورد بحث غنی شده اند. این دوره از تاریخ فلسفه جایگزینی مناسب برای تاریخ فلسفه ی کاپلستون می باشد هم برای دانشجویان فلسفه و هم برای خوانندگان علاقه مند به موضوعات فلسفی.

تعریف مجموعه تاریخ فلسفه راتلج رو زیاد شنیدنم و خودم هم از خوندنش بسیار لذت و استفاده بردم ، کتاب خوبیه و بیان خوبی داره به نوع خودش جالب بود اما احتیاج داشت کمی با تامل خونده بشه .

This provides a sampling of essays that offer cutting-edge insights from leading scholars on the field on the philosophy of the ancient world beginning with the pre-Socratics. There are interesting essays on Pythagoras, Heraclitus, Empedocles, Parmenides, and several on Plato himself. It is a bit dense at times, but will enrich the reader. It will also expose the reader to several major scholars in the area by providing brief bios of each of them.
