The Trial of Joan of Arc

Rate this book
The legend of Joan of Arc - the simple shepherd girl relieving the siege of Orleans and crowning the Dauphin king at Reims - is well known. The record of her trial makes clear that her insistence on cross-dressing - a threat to the establishment which counted for more than her military achievements - was a prime cause of her sentence.

I definitely learned a lot from this book, but I kind of wish that there was more information? I understand that this information was likely from written accounts, some of which were probably not kept up with. However, I kind of wish that more information was given if they had it, whether that be from the author of this book or from other accounts from the time.
