This book would be good for young children. My nephew is 6 and he loves this book. There are not a lot of words on the pages. It has pictures and short explanations on each page about sharks. It gives facts about different sharks and graphic pictures. I like how it has a glossary at the end of the book to help explain different terms to the children.
This can be used in the classroom to help compare and contrast different types of sharks.
This is geared for children 5 and up(P).

This book is good for what it is. This book is informative and is not a story-book. Big Sharks would be great for independent reading or for lessns that are about ocean life. The pictures are great and provide questions in order to prompt readers. I like how this book gives a good bit of information about sharks, but does it in a swift way.

This is an informative book about sharks. I liked this book because it begins with a question. In addition, it is easy to read and introduces students to new words. These new words are usually bold and are explained in a glossary, which is located on the last page in this book. I think, this book has pictures of sharks. Therefore, it introduces students to a realistic image of sharks.

Thought this book would be perfect for that child in your classroom that is very hard to get interested in reading about anything but you know he/she loves sharks. This book is engaging and realistic which would catch the attention of anybody who has a passion or want to know more about them. I also would use this book book talking about the ocean and the creatures that live in it.

I enjoyed this book because sharks are my favorite animal. I think this would be great in a science unit stemming off of aquatic animals. I think children are interested in sharks because they are supposed to be feared and are sort of a taboo for children so i think they would be pretty interested.

This book is a good short picture book with facts on sharks. This would be a good book for a younger class and I think that most students would enjoy it. Big Sharks gives lots of interesting facts that some people did not know, and it talks about the many different kinds of sharks, and what they do.

This book is very informative and would be good to have in the classroom when learning about the ocean or ocean animals. This book also asked questions that could keep the children interested. The pictures were also very detailed.

This is a book that talks about the different species of sharks and describes different characteristics of each. This would be a good book to add to a discovery center.

This non-fiction picture book is about different sharks, and different specific characteristics about them. Every page has a detailed, actual picture of the shark that the page is talking about, as well as some words in bold text. I like some of the words being in bold that are then located in the back of the book in the glossary, to be defined for better understanding for younger ones.
This book is great for any student interested in sea animals, fish, or even just sharks. It covers a lot of basic information about sharks. The only thing I don't exactly enjoy is that the back cover of the book reads "sharks have been around for more than 400 million years", because that contradicts with my biblical worldview of the actual age of the earth. I think I could find a better book about sharks to include in my classroom library based on this fact.
